• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

I HATE Vapor recovery (ECO) gasoline pump nozzles! Is this just "my issue" only? Anyone else? What do you do to avoid this?

I have never had any spillage with the McCuff (maybe once when the pump failed to stop!). Yes, there can be some gas on it when I'm done, but usually very little. When purchased new, a McCuff comes with a case. Mine wore out a while ago so now it just goes in a Ziploc bag which goes in the...

I HATE Vapor recovery (ECO) gasoline pump nozzles! Is this just "my issue" only? Anyone else? What do you do to avoid this?

I'll go against the grain here, I actually like the booted nozzles. I've had to deal with them since I started riding in 2006. Fortunately a friend recommended the McCuff, a yellow "donut" that fits between the boot and the tank. It always gives me a fill to the bottom of the filler tube - I...

Display slow to change from night to day - is this common? Where is the sensor that triggers the change?

Had a bit of time so I did go out and experiment to locate the sensor. Discovered that it takes 30-40 seconds to respond to any changes, at least when the Spyder is sitting just inside my garage (that is, not in direct sunlight but with enough to trigger changes). The sensor on my 2024 RT-L is...

CarPlay Froze, then entire Head Unit Froze Up While Riding, then supposedly updated and rebooted on the Highway - Anyone else had this happen?

Wouldn't be nice if we really could choose to be beta testers and have the ACP crashes sent back so they actually had data to work with?

Display slow to change from night to day - is this common? Where is the sensor that triggers the change?

On my 2024 RT-L, the sensor appears to be somewhere that can be affected by opening/closing the glove box. Depending, of course, on where the sun is and whether the open door blocks the sun to the display. So I'm guessing the sensor is near the center lower part of the display. Would probably be...

CarPlay Froze, then entire Head Unit Froze Up While Riding, then supposedly updated and rebooted on the Highway - Anyone else had this happen?

I agree with raccoon. I think 4.1 is not causing any new problems, probably fixed a few old ones, just didn't fix everything.

CarPlay Froze, then entire Head Unit Froze Up While Riding, then supposedly updated and rebooted on the Highway - Anyone else had this happen?

I've been on the current software version since it came out in July. And yes, both before and after that update, I've had that happen, multiple times, though I haven't always noticed if there was an Updated msg. Frustrating when I lose my routing software and my music. But I know the system will...

My New 2025 Sea-to-Sky - any suggestions on what gear or upgrades to get first?

For visibility, I really like the lower front running light from Slingmods: https://www.slingmods.com/canam-spyder-rt-led-auxiliary-light?vehicle=1. That's perhaps the first thing I would universally recommend someone add. Comparatively inexpensive and super easy to install. Next thing I think...

Apple CarPlay update - what is the secret to getting it working properly??

Having spent over nearly three weeks on my Spyder (Alaska trip), I am so frustrated with ACP and so very glad I have an old Garmin Zumo 396 as a back up for routing (though it wasn't flawless either). While I will be trying a factory reset of my Sena SRL-Mesh, I don't think that is the problem...

BRP Connect Ver 4.1 is now available

Picked up my Spyder from the dealer yesterday after the two year service. The timing of the 4.1 update release was good so that was done (unbelievably, they charged $15 to do so!!! Even though they are very convenient, for that and a couple other reasons, it is probably the last time they will...

About to pull the trigger on a 2023 or 2025 Spyder RT Dark - what am I really paying for? Any other major considerations on differences?

+1 on what baxter wrote. I test rode a 2023 for a day and it convinced me that I wanted a Spyder over a GoldWing for my retirement gift to myself. I agonized over the 2024 vs something earlier question and decided I wanted the 2024 over the earlier version and it would be worth the extra cost...

Is there a Dealer near Portland, OR who will install a Vredestein on the rear?

Peter - good advice not to post on the forum the name of any dealer who might put on something other than a Kenda. Thank you for that. We certainly would not want them to get in trouble. Though at this point I seriously doubt there are any. I guess I'm going to go with another Kanine for now...

Is there a Dealer near Portland, OR who will install a Vredestein on the rear?

I've checked with my three nearest dealers, SK Northwest, Motorsport Hillsboro, and ProCaliber Vancouver. None of them will touch anything other than a Kenda. I'll get on the phone tomorrow and start calling other dealers in OR and WA, but thought I'd also check here to see if anyone in the...

Ever driven your Spyder onto a ferry?

I think that is very wise advice AstroTom and others who have said similar things. I will definitely take some straps with me. Thank you all!

TT2000 2025 or “Holes, the avoidance of”

Sounds like a fun event. Thanks for sharing. I hate it when I think I've switched from 1 to R or R to 1, only to find I haven't and I'm moving in the wrong direction. Fortunately, no unexpected consequences for me, yet. A. I suspect you are an experienced BaseCamp user and have probably...

Ever driven your Spyder onto a ferry?

OH MY! I don't think we'll see anything like that but taking some tie downs might be good just in case. Can't use 'em if you don't have em.

Ever driven your Spyder onto a ferry?

What benefit do the tie downs provide since a Spyder won't fall over or roll (the usual reasons, I think, for tying down two-wheelers)? Are we talking choppy enough to toss a Spyder into the air?

Ever driven your Spyder onto a ferry?

A different question about ferries. I'll be heading north next month taking the Alaska Marine Hwy System from Bellingham to Haines. The two wheel motorcycles I'm with will be required to be tied down. But has anyone taking the AMHS been asked to tie down their Spyder? I can't imagine why...

Is Running Diesel Oil in Your Spyder such a good idea?

I think I finally figured out the point troop is making. The T6 15w40 jug in my garage (the oil I used for many years in the V-Strom I no longer own) has a line that specifies Meets API Service with a bunch of standards including SN and another line that says it meets the performance...

Just wanted to share the unbridled joy and ease of riding the Spyder!

I'll second what Shoey wrote and add that you don't need to wait until you get "to that point in your lifetime". Three wheels, especially the Can-Am reverse trike configuration, is not just a dreaded last resort. It is a viable option at any point in one's lifetime, even for those (like me) who...
