• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Can the Spyder's battery be changed to lithium? Pro's & Con's?

Can you explain why a higher capacity battery is needed? Seems to me that these additional loads are switched on only while the motor is running. And while the motor is running, the alternator is providing all the power to run all the loads on the bike, plus keep the battery charged. Am I...

My first impressions of the 2023 Spyder RTL

If you haven't read this thread, take the time to do so: https://spyderlovers.com/threads/dos-do-nots-for-new-spyder-owners.41346/. There is a wealth of information there that helped me a lot when I bought my first Spyder last fall. Using some of the riding tips, I was able to keep up with my...

Clock Setting screen no longer works, any help appreciated!?

Just so I understand: every time you turn the key on your Spyder ON and it's close enough to get to your Wi-Fi router, your Spyder prompts you to enter your Wi-Fi passcode?

Clock Setting screen no longer works, any help appreciated!?

Here's my theory, that I'm going to test when I get the time (maybe somebody will beat me to it). If you have configured a Wi-Fi connection in your Spyder, it connects to the Wi-Fi every time you turn it on. With the 4.1 update, it then connects to an NTP server (like your laptop or desktop...

Not sure what to use for a title - picking up my Spyder (take two)

Especially if it's one of those WV roads with the yellow diamond "Not Suitable for Large Trucks" sign.

    Riding Gear Poll

Granted, the body armor might be of questionable benefit. But the abrasion protection offered by quality gear cannot be debated.

Any ideas on a Weekend getaway from Harrison, Ohio?

The Hocking Hills region is just over 3 hours if you avoid highways.

Your Weather News @ July Edition 2025

It's a hazy sunny day in Northeast Ohio, temperature about 80° F, no rain (yet). I rode out on the Beemer to meet my wife for lunch, it was a nice ride.

Installing SlingMods Spyder RT phone/GPS docking station on 2023 RTL, but cannot find the accessory power plug - any ideas?

Anybody have a Link to download a service manual for a 2023 RTL?

The manuals from bprmanuals.com are PDF files that you download and can copy them to as many different devices as you want. Upload a copy to your Google Drive account and then you will have access to it on any and every computer or phone you use. Also, after you buy it, you receive an email...

Anyone tried Washing/Cleaning the Pads from inside a helmet?

I have never owned a Shoei helmet, but the helmets I wear now and have worn in the past have removable pads. I take them out occasionally and wash them in a sink of warm water with shampoo. Then let them air dry. I've never harmed them by doing this.

Yeah, the seller took a picture with the parking brake on.

Considering a Spyder - Can I Ask You Some Questions?

I agree with @Peter Aawen. And you yourself have averaged 6000 miles per year on your motorcycle(s), right in line with the usage on that 2023 Spyder.

Why is the engine braking so Weak?! Should I not use Eco mode?

Thanks for the insight. My wife and I sat on both the F3 and the RT, and decided the RT was a better fit (since we were purchasing the Spyder to do some two-up touring). So, I guess I've ended up with a touring machine that I'm trying to ride like a sport bike. I'm still happy with it, it's...

Considering a Spyder - Can I Ask You Some Questions?

You might be over-thinking this. Slow-speed maneuvers on a 3-wheeled vehicle require pretty much none of the same skills needed on a 2-wheeler. Just easy on the throttle and turn the handlebar. Or were you making a joke and it just flew right over my head?

What changes were made with the 2024 Spyder software update to V3.1?

I, too, noticed the UI changes with the latest software update on my 2024 Spyder RTL. And now the 2024 owners manual is wrong. I took a look at the 2025 manual. What's in there more closely matches how my screen behaves. One thing the 2025 manual gets wrong is the center section of the full...

Is Running Diesel Oil in Your Spyder such a good idea?

Well somebody said it was SN, you said it was not. Not placing any blame, There's a lot of confusing information out there, and I just wanted to find out for myself. I've been using Mobil-1 in my BMW boxer bike (dry clutch), but when it's time for an oil change for my Spyder I want to know what...

Is Running Diesel Oil in Your Spyder such a good idea?

On the Shell Rotella website, every weight of the T6 has is own spec sheet. It looks like 5W-30 and 15W-40 carry the API-SN rating, the others do not. Maybe this is intentional, maybe it's sloppy proofreading. I would bet on the former.
