• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Is this KickzSoleShine guy a scammer? Anyone dealt with him?

Buying online can be rewarding, but you have to exercise caution. First, even if you arrange the sale online, make the actual purchase in person if possible, and do that in a safe place. Second, if you are doing everything online, use a marketplace that is somewhat trustworthy. I'm on a couple...

Sounds like you avoided being ripped off.

Is this KickzSoleShine guy a scammer? Anyone dealt with him?

When I've dealt with a seller online who wants to be paid via PayPal friends and family, I've offered to pay the small extra charge to get the protection. If they have agreed, then I've gone ahead with the purchase. If not, then I walk.

First ride after adding seat gel hoping for more comfort, but nope, no change! What to do? Anybody made theirs better?

I think it depends not only on your butt, but also on the bike. I have a bead rider on my Spyder and it gives me hours of comfortable riding. I recently tried it on my Beemer, and had to take it off after a half hour, it was starting to put me in pain. The Sargent seat on the Beemer is...

Wasted my $$ on Cardo Packtalk Bold - just wanted decent sounding Music, but it sounds like ****!

That's what I was talking about  Glad you found them and that they do the job for you!

I really like Pentatonix, but that arrangement just does not match the song. Not one little bit. I like this one a lot better:

Wasted my $$ on Cardo Packtalk Bold - just wanted decent sounding Music, but it sounds like ****!

The speakers need to be pressed pretty snug against your ears for you to get any bass. I'm more about comfort than good sound, so I set mine back a bit into the helmet's speaker pockets and just listen to music at home.

Linus also created git, the source control system that now is far and away the most used in the world. He created it in 2005 because he deemed all of the other available systems at the time insufficient for ongoing development of Linux. Chances are very high that the developers of the software...

Rear Trunk Box not Locking/securing the trunk, despite the dealer adjusting it to the fullest - Any ideas/guidance/suggestions?

My brand new 2024 RTL was like that when I bought it last September. I adjusted the lock a bit and that took care of the problem for me. Although, after that adjustment, it now takes more force to get the lid to latch; I have to press down very firmly until I hear a solid click. It sounds like...

My 2016 RT-L - Planning on an Octane Research project

Very clever marketing! I wonder how many buyers will not pay any attention to that.

Rear Trunk Box not Locking/securing the trunk, despite the dealer adjusting it to the fullest - Any ideas/guidance/suggestions?

Do you mean that you can open the lid without pressing the button? Or do you mean that you can press the button in even though it is locked?

The Auto Downshift is irritating for changes to 2nd & 1st - can anything be done to block those down-shifts?

I'm very interested in this topic. When you say "lugging", what comes to mind for me is accelerating at low RPM. But does lugging also mean just tooling along at 35 - 40 mph at 2200 RPM on a level road? I've been doing this, but if that is harmful in the long run I'll stop.

Does Apple CarPlay work well on your Spyder?

Yep. I have no interest in getting any kind of Apple phone, I want to stick with my Android. I have my (Garmin) BMW Navigator V GPS paired with my Android phone and my Cardo helmet headset. I just move the GPS to whatever motorcycle I happen to be riding.

Does Apple CarPlay work well on your Spyder?

Knowing how things work and how they could work only makes it worse, right?

Have you had ALIF Spinal Surgery? How did it impact your Spyder Ryding?

I had PLIF surgery last October. Surgery Thursday morning, went home Saturday afternoon. Like @TheMariner, I'm surprised that ALIF is considered less invasive. Perhaps it's because PLIF requires cutting through and moving aside the strong lower back muscles,

Where are you from? Where do you live?

Northeast Ohio. What's great: no earthquakes or hurricanes, very few tornados. Pretty close to great riding in southern Ohio, WV, PA. What's not-so-great: snow and ice in the winter.

    Define "Old"

The past few years have taught me a lesson about aging. To make a long story short, a few small back injuries starting 3 years ago pretty much sidelined me from most physical activity (and resulted in my owning a Spyder :) ). Surgery last October fixed the back, and physical therapy has helped...
