• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Spyder decisions - any suggestions on what to buy as my first Spyder?

I had similar leanings/preferences as you, and went with an F3-S. Pretty much checks all the boxes you mentioned. Good luck on the hunt!

10 year parts law - will parts for the 1330 engine/trans still be available into 2036?

    'The Lamonster Chronicles'

Reminds me of my Dad - I saw him eat a 40 year-old candy bar once (he found it in a cardboard box that hadn’t been unpacked from the previous house). “Well, how else will I know what it’s like?”

It pays to buy quality gear

When my Alpinestars leather pants shrank I sent them to Anthony's Leatherworks in California, who were able to add a Velcro strap on each side of the waist. Now the pants are not just bigger, but have adjustability they never had before - and look just like they came from the factory that way...

Make sure to check your brake linkage when you are doing your maintenance!

I used blue Locktite on that nut when I installed the adjustable brake rod on mine. But I’m going to climb down there with a flashlight and check it out again soon (as I do periodically). It would be a whole lotta no fun to NOT have that brake rod connected when you need it! 😱

What did you do to your Spyder today?

First oil and filter change (1250 miles). Went pretty smoothly, despite the Spyder's peculiarities (two drain plugs and that weird oil filter arrangement). Just a few small metal flakes and whiskers:
