• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Any advice on adjusting toe on the front wheels? Is the job doable without BUDS?

I played with the toe out and toe in values with somebody sat on the Spyder. Like you say though, the real world value is affected by load and even weight distribution. It's a game of averages and compromises to be sure. I suspect the factory sets the toe in values that correct for an average...

Does this Ultra Plus Full Synthetic 10W40 oil work for our Spyders?

I suspect Shell's primary market for T6 Rotella is large diesel engines in fleet vehicles where having left over oil quantities doesn't matter as they are servicing many vehicles at a time. I suspect many of shell's customers buy the oil by the barrel as they use so much of it. A six pack of 1...

Any advice on adjusting toe on the front wheels? Is the job doable without BUDS?

I suspect it was the factory’s doing on the 2021 bike as they failed to connect the rear ride height leveling sensor, so I doubt if they did an alignment. The 2026 bike, I don’t know as it was perfect when I picked it up. The 2021 bike was 2 psi low at 26 psi, but then again when I checked it...

Any advice on adjusting toe on the front wheels? Is the job doable without BUDS?

Even some professional race teams sometimes use "string frames" to help set alignment, depending upon the race series. Of course they have to set far more than just toe. If you know what you are doing the old methods are still accurate enough, but the modern equipment and techniques make it...

I looked into MRA but it collects far too much personal information in my book. Just looking at the declaration of what it collects on the Apple Apps download description. I know it says it’s anonymous, but I’d like to be able to opt out of some of the things it collects.

Does this Ultra Plus Full Synthetic 10W40 oil work for our Spyders?

I got the data sheet and published it in another thread. It is a highly refined Type III base as suspected. Doesn’t make it a bad oil though and with 5,000 mile oil change intervals it work just fine I’m sure.

Had a dead battery that threw a check engine light & Code U0155!! How do I clear the light? Do I need BUDS?

It doesn’t cost much to clean the cable connectors from the ECU to the display, just a spray can of contact cleaner and a little time. Well, perhaps quite a bit of time. Beware the book value, it doesn’t matter what the book says, it’s what someone is willing to pay. Few enough may sell in your...

Another Ryker Sway Bar thread - Gravel Handling! Any upgraded sway bar owners? Do they make any difference, for better or worse, on Gravel?

You can always simulate the ultimate soft sway bar by disconnecting one drop link? That would give you one end of the range.:)

UK Ryker owners - Is a Ryker Rally Suitable for UK's Potholed Roads?

I’d be less worried about the 3 bhp less power if the engine is more refined, especially up the rev range, than at what revs it reaches max power and where in the rev range it reaches peak torque and what that torque curve looks like. I don’t think the drop in BHP has likely much to do with...

Another Ryker Sway Bar thread - Gravel Handling! Any upgraded sway bar owners? Do they make any difference, for better or worse, on Gravel?

Rally cars have anti roll bars, or sway bars, that vary in stiffness depending upon what the stage is like, what the surface is like, and are often a compromise over the stage as a whole. Softer anti roll bars are often used to get better articulation and traction on rough surfaces. Sometimes...

2012 RT - Anyone have an idea of the Cost of a New Belt, Installed?

My first question would be, are there any dealers near you who will work on a Spyder over 10 years old, or work on one based on the 998 Rotax V-twin.

Had a dead battery that threw a check engine light & Code U0155!! How do I clear the light? Do I need BUDS?

U0155 means it lost communication with the cluster. Normally you might expect that after a battery failure perhaps as a stored code. As your bike has sat for a while, and the dealer is reporting a high resistance in the harness, I'd start by disconnecting all the cable harness from the ECM to...

What is the best Location for an RT on a 7 x 14 dual axle trailer? How far ahead of the front axle should I mount the chocks?

Wow, over a 1,000 lbs. That's about 100 lbs heavier than I would have thought. The weight balance would seem about right. From that I wonder what my Sea to Sky really weighs then? Unfortunately my bathroom scales don't go up to 400 lbs.

Ryker jumped into reverse at 60kph when it hit a pothole - What damage could have occurred?

I suspect the CVT transmission's belt would slip before the forward/reverse gears would strip. Not something I would want to try, but if it runs fine afterwards, you should be OK. I would suspect a logic glitch in the display software rather than a real jump into reverse. There is not a real...

UK Ryker owners - Is a Ryker Rally Suitable for UK's Potholed Roads?

I bought a Rukka over suit when I first started riding motorcycles at 17. I foolishly left it behind when I emigrated to the US at 30, though I'm sure I'm a bit too big for it to have fitted anymore. Now Rukka stuff is extraordinarily expensive, especially here in the US. I don't go anywhere...

My Battery Life Span and some Replacement Tips.

I keep my vehicles on a battery tender all year round. However, the extreme cold in my garage over the winter and extreme heat over the summer seems to curtail the life of some of my recreational vehicles compared with my Range Rover. The Range Rover has a very high current draw with its...
