• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

68 degrees at 10 AM here in the desert. There's a 7 MPH breeze with gusts to 14. Humidity is 18% and there are no clouds in sight. The high today will be a comfortable 83 degrees. Reading about the blizzard hitting parts of the East Coast. Almost makes me shiver thinking about it...

Dark days for me were when I could see the light at the end of the tunnel (retirement). Had a long and happy career but towards the end, (early 2000s), the industry changed a lot. Over the 35 years that I was in the financial services industry there were many changes and adjustments, which is...

Agreed! In my dark days of working, I managed a large bank branch that was 2 blocks away from the University of Washington campus. Way too many idiot stories to list. At the beginning of each semester, I had a topic about public safety in one of my staff meetings. Reminded my staff that...

Anyone use Deer whistles? Do you think they work?

Several years ago I left Flagstaff for an early morning ride to Phoenix. Honda Goldwing with deer whistles installed. There were 4 or 5 deer having breakfast 10 or 20 feet from the interstate. Not one deer even looked my way as I rode by. They all just kept grazing. Since then, I just kept...

73 for a high today in the desert. We are experiencing filtered sun with the sky looking gray instead of blue. Very light breeze, humidity at 27%. The overnight low will be 54. There is a high chance of rain starting about midnight and ending about 9 AM tomorrow. We'll continue to cool...

How do you control Rabbits (without shooting)?

I just saw an article that said spreading strong smelling soap around the yard and garden will keep critters away. No grass or garden in my yard. It's all desert gravel with metal plants and one big saguaro cactus. No maintenance. I get the odd weed popping up occasionally. Yesterday, I saw...

How do you control Rabbits (without shooting)?

Start a movement to convince women that rabbit fur, coats, hats, accessories are the newest best thing. If women want (need) dead rabbit skins, a solution will be found. That's the way things have happened since the days of Eve.....

How do you control Rabbits (without shooting)?

The real solution is Dingoes, Dingoes, Dingoes! But Gwolf gave a better explanation. Around here, even in our metropolitan community, Coyotes, Owls, and Hawks keep the critter population in check. We all coexist nicely. I see rabbits daily along with coyotes wandering around. Newbies and...

Mostly sunny today here in the desert. Currently; 70 degrees, humidity at 40%, 2 MPH breeze with "gusts" to 5 MPH. The high today will be 72 and overnight low will get down to 50. These are normal seasonal temperatures for us. Yesterdays "rain" turned out to be just a (very) little drizzle...

How do you control Rabbits (without shooting)?

It sounds like your regulations prevent you from doing any effective control. Probably lay your dilemma back on your local lawmakers and let them ponder on the problem. Here in the Arid-Zone-A desert we have rabbits, snakes, owls, eagles, javelins, coyotes, etc. They all seem to coexist...
