• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

How many miles do you have on your Spyder?

I’m guessing most here are retired and ride a lot. Lol I have a 2013 STS and still under 20,000 miles. Close, but not there yet. .

How much brake fluid is needed to flush the system?

Mine is a 2013 STS and has Brembos. I usually use a hand pressure pump doing brakes but will look into the speed bleeders. I’ve seen them for years used on cars but have never tried them. I’ll have to look up sizes.

May have screwed up - checked level & added oil cold!

It’s on the drain plug hole. If you’re just trying to drain some (not changing it all) there is a drain at the bottom of the oil tank. It would be the easier one to get to, but you will have to warm the bike up a bit for it to fill before you can drain or suction it out. .

How much brake fluid is needed to flush the system?

So using the speed bleeder, I assume you move one bleeder to the wheel you are doing and then onto the next. With that said, does the same bleeder work on front, rear and the ABS unit? Guessing they are different between models as well.

Finally took delivery of my Sea to Sky!

Wow, that’s a big bike. No wonder it needs a 13330 motor. :roflblack: .

Oil level... No difference cold or hot

This thread started about the 1330 engine, but I assume the procedure is the same for the 998? Checking hot I assume after a long ride, or can it be running around the block and just starting to show on the temp gauge a couple bars? Guessing when just starting to show on temp gauge a couple...

    shifting issue

So today I put some JB weld on the connection and used a longer bolt w a nylon nut on it as suggested. Was going to drill and roll pin it, but as I started drilling the only spot I could access w a drill the bit broke as it hit the hardened shaft...so left it with just the JB and longer bolt...

DIY laser alignment - correcting dealer foul up

Things have changed around here, I remember a few years back when people showed how to do this yourself the threads would shut down and disappear. Like my thread back around 2014. Lol Nice to see we are allowed to share things now.

    shifting issue

That’s a good idea if the bolt came loose, I’ll have to check. So maybe I’ll JB weld it, longer bolt and set pin. :roflblack: .

    shifting issue

I’ve fabricated/mocked up worse before. It is hard to get to, but would love to be able to drill in a set screw. Will have to look how bad it is...and if my locktightened bolt backed up. Thanks again for the input.

    shifting issue

Well crap, I ran out there for kicks to see if I could see better under it and the aluminum arm is spinning on the hard shaft again. :banghead: So I bought a new aluminum arm last time, lock tighten it and the new bolt on. And now 6 months later has happened again? :banghead: What is a more...

    shifting issue

Okay, good points. I can see the bar that goes to the shaft has not come off like before... but I don’t know that it hasn’t shaved off more of the shaft and is spinning on the shaft. Let me confirm that first, thank you. I “thought” I repaired it good enough as to not have “that” issue...

    shifting issue

I think I hear it trying to do something, but it just stays in neutral. It was staying in 1st till I tried to put it in Reverse....now it’s just stuck in Neutral. :( .

Yes, have it on my 2013 ST-S also.

    shifting issue

I had the issue of the shift lever coming off last summer and not being about to shift. Now I have the issue of not being able to shift, but it’s not the shaft connection. I was low in oil and after filling still doesn’t shift, did I burn up a solenoid? And which one? :( .
