• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Springtime Pre-flight Inspection - don't skip over the first brake fluid change!

Don't skip over that first, two year brake fluid change when due. 2023 after two years. Used a quart.

My '21 S2S rattles quite badly for a few seconds after ~5 months layup start - any way to spin the motor without starting?

Hey Flier, and anyone interested. Take a moment and Google or ask AI, about the term "clear flood mode". It's standard programming in pretty much any fuel injected engine's ECU. Motorcycles, passenger vehicles, whatever. (No, I don't know about race cars.) It does what it says. Even though rare...

Parking brake light comes on & brakes lock up - UPDATE!

Hey OT51 - On-line parts suppliers usually sell the parts at MSRP like the dealer. If I just want to look at an exploded parts diagram and find a part number, I go straight to the source below. Once I have the part number, sometimes a dealer has an eBay or Amazon store and you can score free...

My New Comfort Seat Plugs In Where?

Yes, that's the correct part number - 75 bucks - plus you'll need some miscellaneous hardware to mount it to the bottom of the seat. Keeping in mind, that this should not be your problem, or your cost. The switch from the old seat was supposed to be re-used. But, that's up to you. Good Luck.

My New Comfort Seat Plugs In Where?

What your dealer should have done was to transfer the pillion rider switch from your old seat to the new seat. It’s right there in the install instructions that they should have been reading. That’s why you have the warning light. Go back and have them do the rest of the job right. That switch...

I’m sorry Ex, but he was referring to the left side of that picture that VitoNam posted. Thought you’d want that clarified.

Parking brake light comes on & brakes lock up - UPDATE!

The bulletin was all about replacing the parking brake motor. Maybe do that first. Print this out for them. https://static.nhtsa.gov/odi/tsbs/2020/MC-10174648-0001.pdf

My 2011 RSS is Running Rich, but I can't open the older threads on this!? Any ideas?

If the fuel injectors were gummed up and not operational, then the fuel pressure regulator is suspect, as well. Pressure too high. If your version of regulator is the one with the vacuum line to it, they degrade and need replaced. Same for the MAP sensor and its associated vacuum lines. Continue...

Is it necessary to disconnect/purge the auto levelling system when fitting an a/mkt shock?

Yeah. Once you're done, you can do that. Seems to wake up the ACS logic sometimes - although why I don't know - and it takes over after that.

Is it necessary to disconnect/purge the auto levelling system when fitting an a/mkt shock?

Release the air pressure, but don't disconnect anything. Just remove the inner valve guts from the Schrader valve under the seat. And, don't forget to disconnect the linkage for the ride height sensor - remove the upper bolt - on the left side.

How do I go about getting new keys for my 2014 Spyder RT? Is there any way to get into a locked rear trunk?

The lock for your trunk is nothing more than a pin tumbler lock. Very basic stuff. It doesn't require the security chip in your key to open it, nor is there a “code”. If your lock smith has the expertise to unlock and open your front door if you got locked out of your house, then he has the...

How do I go about getting new keys for my 2014 Spyder RT? Is there any way to get into a locked rear trunk?

Exactly. Imagine being on a trip a loooong way from home. You're coming out of the restaurant, you go to fish the key out of your pocket and drop it down the storm sewer grate... and it's the only key you have... and it's a long way down. Saving money is the American way, but sometimes you just...

How do I go about getting new keys for my 2014 Spyder RT? Is there any way to get into a locked rear trunk?

No, not right. You have to buy a blank Spyder key because the chip on the key is coded from the factory. THEN, you can take the blank to your locksmith to get it cut to the lock… if possible. THEN, it needs to be programmed to the bike with BUDS, either by a dealer or a private person with BUDS...

2022 RT Ltd windshield not raising with switch activation - any suggestions?

Well, Ottawa - my '23 only needs the ignition on. Doesn't need the engine running. It was a welcome and convenient change from my 2012. But, things do change from year to year. The OP has a '22. What year is your Spyder? Have you tried it?

08 Rear Caliper won't compress - any ideas?

You're correct. That piston does not screw in. So, by saying that the parking brake is fully "backed out" - Do you mean that you have removed the lever, and have turned the splined shaft FULLY CCW? That's what you need to do. Opening the bleeder is not necessary. I have always found that I...

2022 RT Ltd windshield not raising with switch activation - any suggestions?

Well, it's not on the left handlebar like on your F3, it's down in front of you on the console. Sorry, but I have to cover all the bases. Next, there is nothing between the switch and module except connectors and wires. See attached. Might just be a bad module, connector pin, or wire issue. Do...

Can't find my 2022 RTL's Driver Heated Seat Connection - any suggestions??

Hey klefty. Find it yet? There are 23” of pig-tail between the bottom of the seat and the connector - assuming the '22 and '23 seats are the same. Usually it’s all just laying there under the seat. I suspect it’s just down below through that hole. Just have to fish it back up out of there.

2012 RTS-SE5 engine shut down while riding, looking for possible causes - any ideas?

Well Hobie, grey, vertical lines, on that era of a Spyder display, is the signature indication of a low electrical system voltage. LIMP mode as well as VSS or ABS faults are also common. Now, whether or not that was the root cause of the initial shutdown, or whether that was just the result of...
