• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

OEM FOX Adjustable Shock Kit with Sway Bar vs BajaRon

I got the BRP kit with bar and fox shocks and it's not terrible but I think there's room for improvement.

Who was filming the group ride to the Dragon last Fri?

Those were the BRP film crew. They'll use footage in their advertisements, websites, blogs, media etc. You could be famous!

    ST vs GS handling (help?)

Yep, I have considered that... but my tech is pretty darn good, so I'm going to trust him this time and see what happens. "his way" is not a shortcut or derivative of the older methods. He's certified as a master spyder tech, so he knows the BRP approved methods. I'm going to see if he will...

    How are the 2013 models?

Welcome back. I have the same kinds of problems and it seems no amount of seating position or bar changes really make it go away. I do have RSI in both wrists so that has a lot to do with it. Going back and forth from a GS to an ST (I have both now) I notice a significant difference in...

    New ST Limited Stalling

I'm guessing you have an SE5? It's pretty normal for odd hesitations, shuddering and lurching at very low speeds during the first 2-3k miles. The transmissions take a while to smooth out and some never do. Again, I wish it weren't so... but it is normal and common for these machines. Doesn't...

    ST vs GS handling (help?)

I hear what you're saying Scotty... I believe mine are dead set zero right now and the spec is close to zero on the 2013's... too many people complaining about tire wear. The dealer will be doing the adjustment, hopefully they'll find it was out of spec and just put it where it belongs, or...

    ST vs GS handling (help?)

I wouldn't count Ron out of the ST bar business yet... Not sure you'll notice the 65 lb weight difference. Dry weight: 2012 RS 699 lbs 2012 RT 929 lbs 2013 RS 798 lbs 2013 ST 864 lbs 2013 RT 955 lbs The 2013 ST has a much lower center of gravity than the 2012 RT. You'll definitely notice...

    ST vs GS handling (help?)

I'm not convinced there's a "problem" with the ST. I'm just looking for other opinions and advice on how to improve it and change some of the perceptions I've had. My next step is to adjust the toe in about 1/4" and see if that makes it feel better. Then I'm going to play with tire...

    ST vs GS handling (help?)

Oh, not at all. A Stock 2013 ST outcorners a Stock 2012 RS as well as a stock 2012 RSS (which is an RS with fox shocks). The 2013 suspension, all three models, is a really trick design. The changes they made to all 2013's will give them a huge advantage over the stock models from previous...

    ST vs GS handling (help?)

So having the not so unique perspective of going from a GS to the ST, and riding both at the owners event, I've noticed some handling differences. Let me start by saying I'm an aggressive technical rider. I see every road as a set of lines, angles and math. Our GS is set up with 2011 RT...

Spyders on the Dragon (Killboy pics)

Wife and I were there around 9:30ish... Candy blue GS/white jacket and the Magnesium STS/black jacket. Both with the Cueball helmets  I love looking at the suspensions in some of the photos... all the 2013's you can see the wheels stay upright, the older models the tires lean outward...

    My Check List For Dealer

If they will, have them check the alignment. Many of them are way out from the factory. On a similar note, have them zero the steering position sensor. Mine was 1.5 degrees off which made for some strange (read: exciting) DPS reactions to what should have been minor sweeping highway turns...

    Seat options - ST

Measured the seat pan itself and it's 3/8ths longer than the ST seat. The pin can be aligned without issue, but the rectangular block that the pin is mounted to impacts the painted surface of the Y panel. I've got it to the point where it can be closed, but it's tight and it will...

    SE5 Transmission question

Thanks for that Scotty, I was about to try and re-summerize it myself. One thing to note, and I know this will just add to the confusion of some: Once above 3200+/-200 rpm (I would just say 3750 for safety buffer) the clutches lock up and won't unlock even if you go below that rpm until you...

Premier Edition #249 bites the dust!

Happy you weren't hurt. I won't try and answer all the questions but I recently went from a 30k mile GS to my new ST (2k miles now) and here's my take on it. If you like the sporty riding position, you can still have it on an ST... mostly. The stock ST seat is about 2 inches higher than the...

    New ST Limited Stalling

Absolutely correct. Those first few miles things ARE out of spec. An engine goes through a lot of changes in those first couple dozen miles as things literally "break in". Engines from Harley don't have this problem because every engine is run on a test stand under load for 25 miles before...

    Two Brothers single for ST

Well every RS with an aftermarket exhaust has it's cat removed (because it's in the stock pipe) and backpressure isn't too bad with all but the most straight thru short pipes. That said, I did notice a loss of low end torque from the lower back pressure. Adding some fuel down in the lower...
