• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Elka Rear ShockFaulty Out Of The Box - so I just have to wait, and wait, and wait...

The new shock (courtesy of the supplier) turned up Saturday morning but with Bike Week in full swing just down the road from us I didn't have time to install it. Instead, went test riding some new 2 wheelers and the Slingshot. ;-) Not sure why they sell so many Slingshots - they are...

    Shad luggage for the F3

I'm still puzzled as to why they would deny themselves further business from retail customers or through their dealers - the F3 market will be substantial

Elka Rear ShockFaulty Out Of The Box - so I just have to wait, and wait, and wait...

I think you are right, but it's probably too late now. I have a feeling that this will be an ongoing saga for Elka with remotes, or for the customers who have to put up with lousy service. In comparison the front Elkas on our RS have been great and trouble-free. Anyway, the supplier has...

    Scratches on tinted winshield

Paper towel is very abrasive. Only ever use microfiber cloths and wet them before removing the big bug spots. Have another one to use with Plastex. Always only ever rub lightly. To repair (I have used this method on plastic a number of times over the years): 1) Buy a toothpaste that...

Elka Rear ShockFaulty Out Of The Box - so I just have to wait, and wait, and wait...

I just left a polite message because I could find no way to speak to a person. No response, and it's the end of the day and still no response from the dealer/supplier either. It's about time I learn patience... ;-)

    Shad luggage for the F3

I have been in touch with Shad and their customer service is abysmal. The guy would not tell me anything except to contact my BRP dealer. I had already done that, and the dealer could not find anything. I'm puzzled that GIVI don't want to make brackets for the F3s and sell them directly, or...

Elka Rear ShockFaulty Out Of The Box - so I just have to wait, and wait, and wait...

But when? I hadn't even installed the things. They were faulty out of the bubble wrap. ;-) At least Corbin responded immediately when I said I was not happy with the new seat. They arranged an immediate pick-up so that it could be remanufactured. (That was a big contrast to my previous...

Elka Rear ShockFaulty Out Of The Box - so I just have to wait, and wait, and wait...

Maybe that's what it is - individual customers don't deserve attention, unless they are close to the supplier? Or the manufacturer? Otherwise I am not sure what pond you are referring to. I'm in Arizona - are we supposed to get bad service because we can ride in winter?? ;-) How long do you...

Elka Rear Shock Faulty Out Of The Box - so I waited, and eventually :-) Sometimes things don't work as they should. Ordered an Elka rear shock with hydraulic preload for the F3 over the phone on Wednesday two weeks ago. For some reason it was only sent on the following Monday, after I phoned...

    ride height

You could try placing two 8x2" planks alongside your lift, or use something similar to raise all three wheels so that you can get it over the lift.

Design Changes In Corbin F3 Seats Could Cause A Problem For Some/Many

Just received and repackaged a Corbin F3 dual seat - at least they offer one remake under the guarantee but that is not really the issue. I didn't think about it when I checked it out online but these are the ergonomic differences compared to the original seat. Corbin seat is: 1) 3" longer in...

Correct and Foolproof Belt Adjustment/Alignment Method Belt Alignment Background - how and when to check i) Move the bike forward one to two bike lengths or if using a jack, rotate the rear wheel forwards 3 or 4 times by hand. Check the position of the belt. ii) Move the bike back one...

    Belt replacement

Check belt tracking When you adjust it's important to make sure that the belt isn't tracking. It's easier if you jack up the rear wheel. You can also check by rolling the bike backwards at least 2 bike lengths. If it's out of alignment (meaning that the rear wheel adjusters need adjusting...

    Spyder crash caught on camera!!!!

It is quite clear - the law says that you must change lanes safely - hence the car driver was ticketed (or as we say in Oz, he was booked). http://www.dailyadvertiser.com.au/story/3704958/scooter-rider-out-of-hospital/ That was a mighty big scooter!

F3 with Blue Ridge - Modifications to help with turbulence

What speeds do you ride at? What speeds do you normally ride? We do 75mph to 85mph two up. Do you carry a pillion - what is it like for the pillion? I regularly ride behind my wife at those speeds, and with the Madstad at anything over 45mph my vision is blurred. The Madstad on our RS is...
