• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

abs fault, twice, blew 10amp running light fuse twice, hit the taillights to turn on

Relay part numbers Yes you can get the relays at most auto parts stores. I'll get the part numbers for you in a few tics of the clock. Will up date this post. Also I have found that shopping around you will find varying prices on these relays. As of this date I find O'Rily's has the best...

abs fault, twice, blew 10amp running light fuse twice, hit the taillights to turn on

These symptoms seem to be pointing to a loose electrical plug in the lights circuit or a direct short to ground. Either fault would/can cause a fuse to blow and would be intermittent because of vibration and bumps. If I've read this correctly it started with a ABS fault and running light fuse...

    Eccessive exhaust fumes.

Check the band clamps frequently... the heating and cooling has a tendency to cause them to loosen. The gaskets maybe ok, but they are probably shot too:gaah:, tightening the clamps may help for a while. Be sure to use the specified torque on them so you don't break or strip them out. Here are...

abs fault, twice, blew 10amp running light fuse twice, hit the taillights to turn on

SethO, I know you said you re-seated the relays in the beginning and it started working again. The symptoms you are describing are indicative of a loose relay, plug/wire connection or damaged wire shorting to ground. Ok... now we've looked at the probable causes. Back to the relays... if the...

    NOT A REAL PEOPLE PERSON

Welcome welcome Welcome Spyder rider. We were all newbie's when we joined this board. I've only been on here a few days and I haven't seen the "Y" for "I" exchange you are referring to, except for the way Spyder is spelled. Factory did that misspell for us. Please give us a link to view...

    Hit a deer tonight.

It's just good to know the driver is not broken.:2thumbs: The machinery can be repaired or replaced. Maybe nothing more than the mirror and alignment. Many times it is more difficult to repair the driver. Have a great weekend and please ride 'em safely! Ken krb1945

    Another motorcycleist down in TX

Good news but did it too soon I think... WA returned to work Tuesday... with three broken ribs, clavacle and a clot still in his brain. The boy just doesn't know when to stay down for a week or so. He told me "grandpa, I have obligations and bills to take care of... I always pay for my...

Absolutely GREAT NEWS! All you good folks I know are sitting on the right hand of God because all our prayers have been answered. WA was released from the hospital yesterday. They did another CT scan yesterday morning and the clot is no larger. He will get another scan next week to check it...

    Another motorcycleist down in TX

Update 8/5/10 2 pm Just received an up date. My daughter told me the doctor said WA will remain in ICU for at least the next 24 hours. He is awake, responsive, remembers events before the accident and remembers waking up in the ambulance. They said he is stable and comfortable... their words...

    Another motorcycleist down in TX

I noticed this morning some seem to be blaming the authorities for not stopping this problem where there are laws on the books making it illegal. Please do not blame them because they cannot be everywhere and do not see everything illegal that is happening. I see this problem in many places...

    Another motorcycleist down in TX

He goes by initials "WA". I just received an update and there are no changes in his condition. The trauma surgeon said he is resting comfortably and they are evaluating whether or not they are going to operate to control the bleeder. MY "better half" is flying out in the morning so she can help...

    Another motorcycleist down in TX

I hope I have placed this in the correct forum. I tell my friends to "please ride 'em safely". And I have told my son-n-law the same thing many times. No matter how safe we try to be there is always someone out there not paying attention. My son-n-law was riding home from work about 6 pm...

    se5 auto trouble

My "Better Half" has an 09 SE5 and no problems at all. I ride it occasionally to make sure things are functioning normally. It is 15 months old and not a problem anywhere. Ken krb1945

    Y gasket idea

Part of the problem with the "Y" gasket problem is vibration and heating/cooling of the band clamps. The heating/cooling of the clamps has a tendency to loosen them. There is a possibility that adding wider band clamps could make the joints too tight and too rigid. Being too rigid in the "Y"...

    Installed new brakes - HOT!

Yep... I forgot about that parking brake cable needing to be reset and hooking to the B.U.D.S. to bleed the brakes. I'd be willing to bet if you reset the PB cable that rear will stop heating up so much and the pedal will feel normal again. Ken krb1945

    Installed new brakes - HOT!

If you have a soft pedal that might indicate there is air in the system... air compresses, hydraulic fluid doesn't... but it could also mean the pads haven't seated. You can try sitting still and pressing them a few times... not real hard but firmly... four or five times should be sufficient to...

    Installed new brakes - HOT!

Seems the dust cakes in front of the rubber seals and won't allow the pistons to retract fully when you install new pads. You might take an old tooth brush and clean the caliper good. The clicking you are hearing may be the extra friction of the pad on the rotor. Lift the caliper remove the...

    yay... ah Bummer

If you have a salvage yard near by... you can get them from many salvaged foreign brands for next to nothing. Also a while back there was an issue with tyco relays having intermittent failures or total failures with no warning. The best I've seen to date are the masterpro and BW... priced in...
