• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Ryker Touring Storage and Luggage Options

I was just looking for some extra storage for rain gear, gloves, and a jacket liner. The Nelson Rigg Commuter bag does that and even expands to fit a half helmet. So far, it's just attached to the Max mount using the straps provided, and is plenty solid. I can still use the backrest with the...

I should have paid someone! Park Lock on Ryker...

Think forstner bit next time you need a clean edge. A taper reamer is also nice to round over the edge a bit for a pro look ...

    LED's for A-arms

You misspelled "adds" ... ;-} Most of the ad copy comes direct from the Chinese mfgs who make the stuff. Some of it is just bizarre ... I picture a room full of monkeys with word processors. That's almost as useful as the dimensions listed for the product ... mostly measuring the size of the...

    LED's for A-arms

Might be worth mentioning that you can cut the strips to any length ... most will come with 3M tape for attaching it as well. Just remember to get enough snap on connectors to do the job. PS - the LEDs are 5v (unless specifically modified for 12v automotive), but you can get 12v to 5v adapters...

    Twitchy Ride?

Haven't seen (or just maybe missed) mention of road condition. Patch crews don't pay all that close attention to pitch and having each wheel on uneven surfaces can surprise you. Nowadays they'll just reseal a paved road so it looks good but you can't really see what lurks below either. Just...

Windshield for Ryker - what are you guys running?

Started with the standard shield, and added SaengTa Stealth Edging for an extra couple inches of still air. Works slick. The hand bubbles are cheapies off Amazon and block a LOT of wind. It all fits and works well together. PS - Just noticed the standard windshield frame includes what look...

Ryker fuel filling - is it just me, or are they slow??

I've managed to get a small gusher or two even using the spout. At least there's no paint to eat off. I also got some dribbles down the outside of the tank until I figured it out. Not sure where those spills went, but I wasn't wearing any gas when I got home, so no worries, eh.

Slingmods Reflectors with Sequential LED Turn Signals & Running Lights

Was looking at those, but not all that sure about the sideways sequential thing. I'd prefer a solid flashing blinker. Less confusing for other drivers I'd think (Is he signalling he's going forward, or backing up?). Also be nice to have a wiring harness for just the red lights. * Bonus...

Ryker fuel filling - is it just me, or are they slow??

Takes some experimenting. I always use the handy dandy fill tube provided and hold the nozzle about a third of the way above the bottom of that. Works well most everywhere, and if I do get any blowback, it drains nicely - not sure where ... ;-} Only real problem I've had is getting the gas cap...

Insurance Options - Time to look for another agent?

All good info. Thanx! What's weird is the same company insures my Ural sidecar rig for under $300. And I'd put that up against any Honda ATC as most dangerous bike in the world ... <G> PS - perfect driving record, except for the motorcycle accident I died in. (I got better, and it wasn't my...

Need to take off BRP comfort seat...

I seem to remember where someone recommended pulling the hard tabs together with zip ties so it lifts right off. Leave them on while the seat is off and cut the ties when you're done.

    Full Helmet Hate It Riding.

Lots of options (and opinions) but I like my collar bones, which is why I don't wear a full face. Lovin' my LS2 Rebellion. The "goggle shield" flips up when not needed and blocks any wind that comes over the shield. Great venting, and an oval shape so it doesn't spin on my pointy little head...

Insurance Options - Time to look for another agent?

Comprehensive Insurance ... $900 for one year with a $500 deductible and a $12k limit. Total premium is $1556. And that's for a machine I can only ride six months out of the year. WTF?? Agent's got it listed as a high performance bike and cites the old Honda three wheelers as proof of...

    Ryker Third Peg

... and here I thought I was the first ... ;-{ I lost my left lower leg a while back and was looking for a little insurance to keep my "foot" from bouncing off on a hard bump. The dual pegs are perfect - I rest the toe of my shoe on the front peg and heel sits between both. Also as...

Panel Popped Loose - how does it go back in?

Keep an eye out for rubbing damage as the tube ages is all. I'd expect to strip the body back for a good inspection every spring anyway ... (Ya know, I've heard that some of you have never seen your motor?) <G>

handlebars question - anyone changed out bars to bring closer to rider?

Be sure to de burr, eh. I highly recommend using a deburring tool for the holes. Just pop it in and the blade cleans any sharp stuff both inside and out. Especially important for wires, and a great investment for the shop at around $10 at most any big box hardware.

Panel Popped Loose - how does it go back in?

Shouldn't be necessary - I just added a radiator rock guard and bumper here and was able to do the job without doing that. Granted, it MIGHT have been easier, but I LIKE doing things the hard way. (And before anyone asks ... standing up in a hammock.) <G>

    Tire Pressure?

Running temp spares on a bike with sensitive steering is kinda like running speed laps barefoot on rubber crutches. Forget the basic universal tread and inferior construction and don't forget they usually don't have a lot of tread depth or longevity. They also tend to run hot due to less...
