• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    Heated seats....

I had a heated seat on my BMW and used it occasionally. My Spyder RTL doesn't have the heated seat and I haven't missed it at all. I do like the heated grips, but I would not pay extra for a heated seat.

    Lamonster Black Dymond Detailer

I bought two cans at Spyderfest. When I got home, I used it to clean 1,000 miles worth of bugs and dirt and it worked better than expected - and I expected it to be good. Thanks Lamont for an excellent product.

    Spyderfest Questions

I'm not trying to push, but since Murphy and others are making reservations already, I thought maybe they knew something that I didn't. The main reason I want to know as soon as possible is to arrange time off from work. We had so much fun, we want to make sure we can do it again. :clap...

    Spyderfest Questions

Does anyone have the official dates for Spyderfest 2016? I've heard rumors, but nothing official. What was the final count for Spyderfest 2015 - number of people, number of Spyders, longest ryde (not trailer) to get there, millions of dollars spent on farkles, etc.?

    Another New Owner - 2014 RT S, SM6

While at Spyderfest, I put an F4 Custom Sport windshield on my RTL. I got it tinted and vented. Now I can get all the air I want when low, but can also get good protection when raised. The vent provides additional options in air flow. They have a variety of widths and heights. From...

    Potential Newbie

I'm like vided - I thought I had made a very expensive mistake because I just couldn't seem to get the hang of the Spyder (I've ridden 2-wheelers for over 50 years). But then suddenly my neurology seemed to adapt and it started getting better. This was probably somewhere around 400-500 miles...

    fuel grade

My guess is that the computer mapping will compensate if you use a lower octane to prevent knocking so while regular would be fine in an emergency - and would probably just result in a little less power - I always use premium.

    TRICLED Kudos

At Spyderfest, I had them install turn signal indicators on my mirrors. A couple of hours later, I noticed that the last three LEDs on the end of the right indicator would occasionally kind of dimly twinkle when lit. I attempted to show the tech who installed it, but they worked perfectly...

    a nice boat ride

I've been there courtesy of the U.S. Navy - major typhoon in the Western Pacific hit Taiwan while my ship was in Kaohsiung harbor. A Japanese freighter sunk in the mouth of the harbor. Fortunately there was enough room to get past. We had to head directly into the growing storm for several...

    this is one talented dog

A very clever ventriloquist act. Teaching Wendy to open her mouth on cue is quite an accomplishment.

    Dumb Question

Have you called Len and explained your problem or consulted a local dealer? I would think that if anyone can answer your question, Pitbull can.

    Persistant Oil Leak

Ouch! I hope mine goes better than that. I called my dealer yesterday for a status report since my bike had been there for two days. They haven't even looked at it yet. There are eight jobs ahead of me. The service manager said he only has one tech and one guy who just assembles, etc. They...

    Persistant Oil Leak

I agree. Before I took it in the first time, it was very minor. It seems to have worsened since then. The service manager said he would put his best tech on it. Hopefully they'll get it stopped this time. Just curious: how long is a Spyder usually in the shop for something like this? It's...

    Persistant Oil Leak

Three or four weeks ago, I noticed a spot of oil beneath my 2014 RTL. The dealer found the leak and replaced a gasket (I'm not sure exactly where, but I think he said somewhere near the starter and a bear to get to it). It took almost a week to get the gasket and after replacement, it still...

2010 RT Kind of a "pooch"

Another option: Get a 2014 or 2015 with the 1330. My wife and I rode to Spyderfest and back on our 2014 RTL - combined weight around 320 - no problems with torque. Of course it's not the same as the 6-cylinder 1800cc GoldWing, but it's darn good.

orange screen...check engine or night display?

Yep, I thought I was getting the dreaded orange screen when I first rode my RT in the dark, but it was just the night display. If it is there in the daylight, be concerned.

Check-in on your ryde home from SpyderFest '15

Two or three years ago I stopped at the Cracker Barrel in Flagstaff on the way to LV. It was a little overcast when we went inside. As we were finishing up lunch, I looked out the window and it was snowing heavily. I said, "We'd better get off this mountain now." Before we got to the bottom...

    Cover it up!

I also have the BRP half cover. I like the way it fits better than the Nelson-Rigg, but it does cost more. I start at the back instead of the front when I put it on. It makes it easy for me to slip the antenna into the cover's antenna slit when there is no tension on the cover. After a...

Check-in on your ryde home from SpyderFest '15

I was kind of hoping for a bit of rain on the way home to test the rain repellency of my new F4 Customs windshield, but alas only sunshine. ;) By the way, I really like the windshield. I just came in from cleaning the windshield as directed with paper towels and F4 cleaner and it looks new...
