• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    Ongoing ST heat Mods

Mine plugs aren't as white as I was expecting, but they're definitely on the lean side. Makes me want to put a power commander on it. But I hate having to "Fix" something that BRP should already have well under control. I don't mind removing my cat, but it'll definitely make it more lean, in...

2013 STS going back to the dealership

The brake staying on problem is a known issue at this point and BRP's fix should remedy it in all cases. Only takes a few minutes to fix. Just make sure they check the bike out for all of the known tech bulletins before you take it home. You'll feel better knowing they fixed it before you...

OEM FOX Adjustable Shock Kit with Sway Bar vs BajaRon

:agree: Well put. The problem here is, you never know when you've reached that point if you don't swap rides every now and then. Lesson of the day for handling elitists: Always share your toys!

2013 STS going back to the dealership

Wow... 80-110F is considered unnaturally hot to BRP? I'm pretty sure every state in the US reaches this temp range at some point.

    Good Spyder Story

"a gnarly-looking biker nods impressively at the look of the thing. This doesn't actually happen in real life. On the road, motorcyclists rarely drop the two-fingered wave to a Spyder." Since they have probably never owned a Spyder I would say that the writer is the one who's not impressed and...

    New RT Cup Holder/Accessory Mount

Looks fantastic! Any chance it'll fit the ST handlebars?

    Stretchy sun cover

Do they do anything for water? Just keeping light sprinkles off the seat would be great.

    ST handbar gadget mounting

I'm sure someone has come up with an amps adapter for the Zumo. I would have to see the gps to confirm anything tho.

    Spyders Across the Straits.

Been too long since I've been up there! I've been itching to do a great lakes ride for a couple years now but it never seems to happen.

    Ongoing ST heat Mods

I don't know that anyone has seen the engine temps go up in any extreme way... Reducing the engine coolant temps via a different thermostat will just make the engine run less efficiently. The complaints center around the left side plastic getting hot. The whole time you are noticing high...

    Ongoing ST heat Mods

Did BRP say this or the dealer? There are laws to the contrary. They can not void your warranty for a modification you have done. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Magnuson%E2%80%93Moss_Warranty_Act However they might use it against you down the line if you have other issues that could be caused...

    ST handbar gadget mounting

This is the Kewlmetal Gizmo bracket for the RT mounted on the STS Note that it's facing downward instead of up like it would be on an RT. No big deal really, doesn't interfere with anything. I believe some of the other RT mounting brackets that mount to the handlebar bolts like this will...

    Swerving.. Spyder or human error?

One question... do you notice the darty feel on really smooth roads? There's an interesting discussion going on about how the new 2013's suspension design has a lot of bump steer like a race car. In racing it's dealt with differently. On a road going vehicle it can be scary. Bump steer...

    Purge Valve

What I wonder is if these are being damaged from the heat as well. I'm hoping that once they finally fix the heat issues (and lean issues) that most of these other things go away.

    power commander autotune dyno?

Just wanted to add that on the Rotax 991's the AutoTune doesn't operate below 7500 rpms and 40% throttle. Seems BRP extended the closed loop area to 7500 which covers the highway cruising range completely. This means AutoTune is only useful for hard acceleration (over 40% throttle), which is...

    power commander autotune dyno?

On Spyders, AutoTune only works in the open loop area of the map, that being over 40% throttle or above 6000 rpm. On other bikes it can do it all. What it effectively does is create a closed loop in the open loop area by adding an O2 sensor connected to the AutoTune module. You put in your...

    power commander autotune dyno?

I agree. The maps they give you are "safe" maps and are usually quite rich and not tuned at all. Typically they are +10% across the whole closed loop area and then 13.2 AFR in the open loop area. It'll run like that but it doesn't really conform to the character of your bike and setup...
