• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    GS versus F3

I have ZERO interest in a the 3 cylinder that is available in the F3. The V Twin is a character motor, and sound like a million bucks with a pipe. My sled has a lower revving 3 cylinder, with better power density, and way more horsepower than the ACE 1330, and unless there was a lot more power...

**** "DO'S & DO NOTS" for NEW SPYDER OWNERS... ****

Personally, I don't care for the noise of an engine spinning 2K higher than necessary. Burning fuel, generating heat, and generally making a racket. Just me though!

    Baja-Ron Sway Bar

The dealer made a business decision, the above would be an emotional one. No reason to get ones feeling hurt. The OP bypassed the dealer, it's a risk that we take when ordering online. It's not uncommon to refuse to install parts bought elsewhere. The business that I work for is the same way...

    Riding with Slingshots

3 Wheel Car I'm not fully understanding how the slingshot is compared to the Spyder. The Spyder is a bike, and the Slingshot is by all definitions a car or automobile. Both toys I guess, but not really similar.

First long mountain ride after shoulder surgery

What type of surgery and how long ago? I just had DCE with AD. Hoping to ride within a week or two.

    comfort seat #219400416?

I just ordered one! Interesting to hear it's longer, hopefully the bar reach isn't too much further! And the OEM RS seat is pretty damn hard and misshapen, not soft at all.

    2009 GS Exhaust installation question

Missing Spacer! OP - It would appear that you are missing the cone shaped washer that keeps the pipe away from the wheel / swing-arm. Easy fix. Instructions that come with the pipe they are blurry and crap.

    Trouble with wifes RS-S

I'd start by removing things 1 by 1 And see if that solves it. It sure sounds like the OP created the problem, should be easy to undo!

**** "DO'S & DO NOTS" for NEW SPYDER OWNERS... ****

FYI - The opinion on RPM is just that. When taking it easy, or around town, I keep it under 4K rpm, usually cruising around 3500rpm. I have no idea why folks recommend more, (mileage is not a valid reason) unless the discussion relates to SE models and preserving the clutch. I also observed that...

    SM VS SE

Rode both back to back for 4 days I rented an SE5 for 4 days, and rode around 1200 miles. The downshifts were cool, other than that, I was unimpressed. I thought the shift buttons were backwards, easily bumped, and all around intrusive. The upshifts were inconsistent, and it was a bother to...

WARNING -SPYDER RS SE5 2012 WARNING

So what RPM does your car or truck run? Just a hair under the torque peak? I don't think so, I runs the lowest RPM that it can smoothly generate the require power to move it down the road. There is ample torque as low as 3K, so lets not confuse power needs with the need to preserve the...

WARNING -SPYDER RS SE5 2012 WARNING

A whole lot of guessing going on here In spite of the (seemingly), widely held opinion that the Spyder needs high RPM all the time. I will whole-heartedly disagree. Mine runs just fine between 3000 - 4000 rpm all the time at lower speeds. It does not vibrate or shudder, and it sounds terrific...

    GS vs F3 question

This displays a fundamental misunderstanding of power. Horsepower is a measure of power or work, torque is a measure of force. Horsepower, irrespective of RPM is what matters, that's why all industrial equipment is rated in horsepower. You van use gear reduction to create torque, but not...

    Serial Posters

A golden opportunity to irritate the whole choir at once! This should have been called the butt hurt choir thread. As that is pretty much what it is. I don't think anyone cares much about post counts, they care about the incessant posts that don't contribute. There are a few on every forum that...

    2013 RS - 6 less hp an 100# heavier?

So I decided to weigh my 2011 spyder RS a truck scale, fueled with me on it, 990#! Sounds close, 220# for me with gear, 50# fuel, etc. So BRP says the 2013 weighs 799#, and has 100hp, down 6hp. This seems strange, anyone know what's going on with that?

Yep. One thing at a time though! But I hear only good things, so I'm gonna order that and some filters. Our dollar sucks pretty bad right now though.
