• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    Wheels falling off?

I carry a very large hex wrench 1/2" socket for my FJR's front axle but no 1/2" breaker bar. A couple years ago I blew out a front tire valve stem just after crossing the Mississippi River into Wisconsin. The closest tire shop was about 3 miles away but a phone call brought the owner's wife...

    Rotella t6

Sweet! Saved another $17.50 on the 2.5 gallon jug. I didn't mention but I also had a $20 gift card applied towards the purchase, made my 2.5 gal of T6 cost $8.81 per gallon!

    Rotella t6

I've been using T6 in all my motorcycles (and cars) for years. I usually change oil anywhere from 4000 to 8000, depending on the vehicle as much as anything. I just purchased a 2.5 gal jug of T6 at Tractor Supply for $59 including tax, or about $24 a gal. WalMart is about the same price. And...

If/When Ryker Chip Key Mechanically Fatigues

IIRC, the Ryker comes with two 'keys.' I intend to drill a hole in one of them; if it renders it unusable, I'll just get another, maybe for a Ski-Doo.

If/When Ryker Chip Key Mechanically Fatigues

I'll have to find that video. I only want a 'key' ring so that I can attach it to a zipper or something when I take it out/off. And I don't think water would really affect the chip anyway, just let it dry out. OK, the video is of a Spyder key and they are somewhat different (much like my...

If/When Ryker Chip Key Mechanically Fatigues

Too bad we can't just drill a small hole in the thing and fit a proper key ring! I don't suppose the chip would like that though!:gaah:

    Need a Bigger Top Case

The Universal Givi mounting plate has lots of holes and uses up to four 'w' shaped brackets under whatever you are mounting to. I've mounted mine to three different bikes, everything from a Ural to a Honda 750 Nighthawk. I was going to use mine but decided to go with a Givi knockoff for 1/3...

Does the Gauge spoiler cut some of the wind?

I can't say for sure since I don't have my Rally yet but won't the windscreen (stock or CaliSCi) also keep the bugs off the front sice of the gauges?

Tools needed for Ryker wheel change

It's worse! If it was just chocolate sauce and sprinkles, I could put that on toast!

I think this just might work...

First, the RotopaX fuel containers are bullet proof, not thin plastic, used by dirt bikers and off-road 4 wheeler's alike, and they do not leak under pressure. No problem there. BUT, I'd also think twice about tying one on with a bungee cord, regardless of where it was placed. I'm not sure...

Tools needed for Ryker wheel change

Got my 65mm socket from the UK today, found a baggie in the kitchen. So I went out to my shop; nope, no Rally there yet! Dang, three more weeks. I have my CalSci windscreen, my top box and my wheel nut socket so I'm obviously ready.

Regular or premium, that is the question???

Using 'new math', I believe "your" difference between Regular and Premium would be .40 or $2.00 per tank. I personally believe running premium in a vehicle 'designed' to run on regular (says so in the manual....) is a waste of money. But as they say, YMMV (so true.) I've run regular in my...

Stock Air Filter or K & N Air Filter

Umm, oiled FOAM filters do wear out. K&N filters are not foam and I've never had one wear out. I use K&N's spray cleaner and water to clean them (per instructions), then spray them with filter oil. Never had a problem with too much oil but then I'm careful. I will probably purchase a K&N for...

    My New 2 Ryker's

Congratulations! Nice to have a pair!

    Max Mount width

Well turns out I was wrong, again. The mount on the scooter is narrower at the front (where the 'pins' on the mount fit into the box) than the Givi. Not to worry though, time for Plan B. I bought a new knockoff top box and it came with a much better mounting plate that I"m sure will fit on...

    Givi top box installation

Well, best laid plans of mice and Ryker owners....I got my new 'givi knockoff' box today. It is a beauty but I was wrong that the box on the scooter would fit on the Givi universal and thus the new won't either. The mounting pins are too close on the knockoff (the larger knockoff on my FJR...

    Rally New Owner

Mine came today, looks really good but no way to tell how it will fit. There is a photo though, thread "modification to a CalSci windscreen" or similar, of a rider with a medium. Judging by his height and the profile photo, I think medium is going to work for me.

Mod to Cal Sci windshield mounting

Thanks for the info. I too am short waisted and wasn't sure which size to get; my medium came today (about 3 weeks in advance of my Rally!) and your photo leads me to believe the medium is right for me. It also looks like the lower part of the screen shields your hands some. That true?

    Ryker Issue Alert!

I rode BMW motorcycles for years; they 'required' new washers on drain and fill plugs but I only changed them every four or five changes. Never had a leak. YMMV.

    Speakers on a Ryker?

Poor video, not sure where they put everything. BUT, the link to the unit is good: no mention of JBL (not for the $144.70 price!) IF you want your neighbors to hear your radio, this is probably a good thing (1000 Watts peak????) I think I'll stick with Sena too.
