• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    battery problem

I just replaced a weak / dead battery today. I called the dealership and they say the batteries should last 1 yr with a max of about 3 yrs. I bought a battery tender and tried to recessitate the battery for 2.5 hrs and then the dealer told me that a tender will help prolong a new battery but...

2015 Owners Events - Here we go!

Haha - I grew up in the Hill Country - there is some nice scenery - Austin and surrounding towns are the best in Texas! Guess in comparison I like the tall trees and greenery of other places after seeing Texas for so long! I don't know if BRP could handle the liability of all the heat strokes...

2015 Owners Events - Here we go!

Thank you BRP... this is an awesome list and spreading of sponsorship dollars!! I'm particularly glad you've selected SpyderQuest as I'll be making my 2nd cross-country trip to this event! The scenery is breath-taking... and that is what I love about this format. There are many great events...

    ST ultra touring windshield

Several people suggest the Cal-Sci windscreen... I strongly considered them but went with the BRP Ultra Touring Windscreen. Sizing they are the same at the base but the BRP tapers a bit more. The reasoning for me going with BRP is the BRP Ultra is made from Polycarbonate, where the Cal-Sci is...

    ST S Seat

I traveled across country on my stock seat but would have turned around by St Louis had I not had an AirHawk cushion. I'm in the last few days wait for my custom Russel Day Long seat!! For me, I got too much butt burn for a long comfortable ride on the stock seat. But I'm 6'4" and 250 lbs so I...

Do you have any photos and part numbers of highway pegs on an ST?

    smooth spyder backrest

New ones don't need a tool anymore - he said its a quick ratchet like on the backrest pad! Unfortunately he said I can't retrofit my version - so I keep the tool velcro'd in the frunk.

    smooth spyder backrest

I've got one on my ST and love it! He's upgraded the design to allow for easier adjustment which is sweet!! Personally, I think the look is more in line with the ST in both the front and back position!! If your asking whether you should get one - I have no reasons why you shouldn't and a lot...

Update on narrowing down my CCW choice...

That's what I've heard... and I was really interested in the Kel-Tec KSG for a while, but decided to go with a Beretta Tactical shotgun instead! Too many reports of FTL on the Kel-Tec and nothing but praise for the Beretta!! Have fun at the range!!

Update on narrowing down my CCW choice...

Have you owned a Kimber or fired it before buying? Because your approval process is so long I figured I'd give you a 3rd parties perspective on the Solo. http://www.thetruthaboutguns.com/2011/12/ralph/gun-review-kimber-solo-carry/ In any case, whatever you end up carrying, I'll be sure not...

    Ram Mount

I also use a Rivco cup-holder bracket, reversed and attached to an x-grip. I've included the link to the post that includes the needed parts and pics of my install. Works great... when I was on Tail of the Dragon, I moved the holder up and out a bit and it was perfect for recording video using...

    ST Windshield Bobble Head Affect

Yeah, most RT's have a windshield that creates a very large pocket. Several people suggest the Cal-Sci windscreen... I strongly considered them but went with the BRP Ultra Touring Windscreen. The reasoning for that decision is the BRP Ultra is made from Polycarbonate, where the Cal-Sci is an...

    ST Windshield Bobble Head Affect

Using the stock windshield I figured out a lot of buffeting came from the wind wrapping around the sides so not a lot you can do. I just replaced it with the Ultra Touring windshield. I've only had a chance to ride about 70 miles but I can definitely tell a difference. Without an upgrade be...

Help me plan my trip home from SpyderQuest

Thank you to all... it sounds like Gettysburg is a must-see! I'm travelling with my father-in-law also, so I know he had mentioned Blue Ridge Parkway and Skyline Drive... so I think I need to sit down with him and see how this route ties together! I may take a couple of you up on picking...

Help me plan my trip home from SpyderQuest

I like that idea... my wife informed me 1-day in NYC is not enough so I actually considered switching directions and having her fly out of Quebec! But, I'll have my father- & mother-in-law on their Spyder, so better keep the direction relatively pointed back towards Texas!! But I'm thinking...

    Narrowing down CCW choices.

Smith & Wesson M&P 9 has incredible ergonomics with the backstraps. I keep looking at and testing the Walther PPQ - accurate, accurate, accurate and incredible feel!! I hear all the arguments between .45 and 9mm and everyone thinks they need big calibers - a weapon is only as good as the...

Cargo pockets where the speaker grills are

I'm looking to do the exact same thing. I'm thinking of using a piano hinge using epoxy. To keep it shut I'm thinking of a keyed lock or a magnetic lock. Question: in the event I screw it up does anyone know how to get a replacement cover? Also, any updates from anyone doing this?

Help me plan my trip home from SpyderQuest

In September I will be going to SpyderQuest in Lake George, NY. On my way home, back to Texas, I want to stop at some interesting cities with history, etc. Last year, on my way home, I stopped in Washington DC and loved it! I'd even consider going back! So, the only plans I currently have is...
