• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

RECALL - ALL 2019 and 2020 Ryker Models - Wheel Nuts

Just received a call from my dealer about this. Said it would be 3-4 weeks before he had new parts in stock.

    Ryker Recall/Stop Sale

Dealer posted on the FB group. Said it only affects certain VIN #'s. Must have been a bad batch of nuts?

    CVT belt life

A broken CVT belt isn't (or in most cases) going to damage anything and it shouldn't lead to an accident either. The belt breaks (really they shred) and the bike will coast until it stops. Cleaning up a shredded belt is a dirty mess but........

    CVT belt life

I'm sure the belt will last longer than 12K miles but..........It's not something that can be changed quickly on the road if it breaks. The same belt in a snowmobile will last 3-5K miles (snowmobiles are much more demanding on the belt) but if you break one while riding you can change it out...

    2010 RS Coolant Change

I would probably suck the coolant down from the reservoir with a "sucker". That should get enough out to change the reservoir. But dealer is doing the work so they should know not to use the drain plug. If they do use it and it breaks the pressfit connection they'll just have to fix it...

    Final drive grease leak....

Most of the posts I have seen about this results in a whole new final drive. Boy, you are having bad lucky lately :(

New fuel filter but now won't start.

Good work. It is annoying that you have to purchase parts as part of sub assemblies. I assume this is because that's how BRP purchases them from their vendors?

    Theories on CRACKED wheel nuts

If its a material issue than the problem you talk about can be solved by the parts being inspected (both visually and scanned by imaging machine) for material defects after they are manufactured. I have to think the issue is small because someone on a FB Ryker group posted the 2020 ECO changes...

New seat skin on 08 GS (pic)

Not sure what traction products are. I'm going to send them my Ryker Rally seat, have them add 2" to the height, a gel pad center and recover in a catchy color combo with some "sticker" material.

    Ryker Rally Questions

Yes. Used a jack to remove some pressure off the front suspension (tires were not off the ground), grabbed the spring and turned by hand.

    Cracked Wheel Nuts

So, I just went to the NHTSA website and looked up the Ryker. For the heck of it I also looked up 2017 Toyota Tundra. I was surprised to see 6 recalls since I have never received a notice about them. The recall from May 2017 was for cracked lug nuts. I hope this isn't a sign of the future :)

    Cracked Wheel Nuts

I agree its a serious issue if it happens to you and it needs to be taken care of by BRP. I don't want to give the impression its not a serious issue. If its an issue with dealers or owners not reliably being able to torque the nuts correctly then the design should change to be more user...

    Cracked Wheel Nuts

I'm part of a number of Ryker groups on FB and the wheel nut issue has been on the FB groups for a while. It looked like a widespread thing but then someone did a pole of people with the problem and it turned out approx. 2 out of 90 people had the issue. Those 2 people where just very good at...

    More moans

I'm part of a number of Ryker groups on FB and overall I'd say people are happy with their Rykers. There have been some issues for some people but overall I think its a small portion of total owners. The wheel nut issue came up on the FB groups and it looked like a widespread thing but then...

Could I be the 1st? CVT Belt Replacement

The turbo has nothing to do with top speed. It's quicker acceleration I'd like.

Could I be the 1st? CVT Belt Replacement

I don't think the drivetrain would have any issues with the 900Ace Turbo. The clutches are the same as the ones used on the snowmobiles with the 900Ace Turbo. The gearbox is different but I assume its has similar parts. My personal opinion (or maybe hope is better) is......The ryker was...

Ryker Pigtail Set up for battery tender

I ride a couple times a week. My bike sits from November to May in heated storage. During the riding season I never charge the battery. When in storage I hitch up the charger once a month till the battery is full and then disconnect (only takes an hour or so). That's the only charging I do...

Could I be the 1st? CVT Belt Replacement

The belt speced for the Ryker 900 is the same belt speced for the Ski-Doo 850. That is a 2-stroke motor that puts out about 165hp and it would constantly be put under hard acceleration conditions. It's also the same belt speced in the 900ACE Turbo in the Ski-Doo's that run about 150hp. Those...

Could I be the 1st? CVT Belt Replacement

The clutch on the snowmobile that uses this same engine is just opened up with a bolt.
