• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    belt tension

Thanks canamjhb, Yes it is a mystery. I spoke to the technician when the 1st service for RT was done, & asked him to set the belt tension to 800n wog [approx 180lbs on krikit ] & explained why. He said he would like to, but he had to follow the info supplied by BRP for obvious reasons. When i...

    belt tension

Thanks Mike, I actually removed the output shaft drive pully some time ago thinking the same thing. Absolutely no problems there. I'm getting a new rear wheel fitted early January [ out of round ] under warrantly. Maybe this will solve the problem. Anyway, Merry Christmas.

    belt tension

If it wasn't for the bad clunking changing up & down especially the F3-S, I would run both at 160lbs in a heartbeat. I'd rather have hopefully only [ don't want to think about the output drive shaft bearing ] the rear wheel bearings detonate instead of the gearbox running the 200lbs wog.

    belt tension

Thanks for the reply warrensr. I actually purchased vibration dampers, 1 from RR, 1 from Can-Am, thinking I would need them. Both are still in the boxes they came in.

    belt tension

I lowered the belt tension on both my 2017 RT SM6 & F3-S SE6 some time ago from 240 lbs RT/ 225 lbs F3-S purchased new from dealer [ wheel on ground ] to approx 180lbs wog. Gear change on the RT went from very smooth to change, to a slight clunk changing from 2nd up & the same coming down to...

Great timing spinning the rear wheel & the highway patrol probably taking it all in. Did he catch up with you?

    another tire question

Pete, I have built myself a '' inner guard '' ie a rock guard which is attached via 2 u-bolts to the rear shock mounting cross brace. Without the guard, I'am pretty sure you could squeeze in the 225/55

    another tire question

Yes Mike you are correct. Since purchasing those tires & some more research, I've fitted 215/55 along with the 175/55 [ Bridgestone potenza ] on my RT & no problems. The 225/55 would have been ok also but for clearance issues. Thanks mate.

    another tire question

I've just fitted the Bridgestone Potenza RE050A 175/55R 15 with no clearance issues at all. Fitted the Bridgestone Adrenalin RE003 205/55R 15 on the rear. Could have physically fitted a 215/55, but the aspect ratio/profile versus the front tires may have thrown the nanny into confusion. I'm...

With your height & weight [ bloody giant ] i'd say you are right regarding putting different loads on the tyres.

    another tire question

Thanks for the reply Pete. I think they quoted from the spec. I'll visit BJ tomorrow & check out the widths etc personally. I have just joined the OzSpyderRiders forum which i'll sus out. I may end up purchasing Kuhmos. Treva.

    another tire question

Thanks Pete, I rang Bob Jane about the width/profile of the potenza & was informed it was 175mm wide & 10mm higher IE 5mm at bottom of tire & 5mm at top. I'm sure the profile will be ok. Is the Kuhmo 175/60 width actually 175mm? By the way is the kuhmo called Solus & what do you think of them...
