• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Anyone else having Throttle Position Sensor faults on start-up?

My 2011 RT Limited had same malady and was diagnosed as bad TPS. I couldn't even throttle it in 1st above slow walk. Dealer picked it up and has ordered me a complete new throttle body. He is making every effort to get it back to me next week for a planned trip on the weekend. Jim Potts...

    shifting advice question

Throttle Back My salesman and also the mechanic tlold me it was not necessary to roll back when you shift. He likened it to "speed shifting" which i'm doing. Seems to work for me. 2011 RT Limited Hope that helps you

    HiWay Pegs or Floorboards

My 2011 RT Limited riders footrest does not seem that comfortable when going 100 miles or more. I'd like to be able to move my foot . I'm wondering which would servie my purpose better. Should I just add Hi Way pegs to stretch out occasionally or would a floorboard such as Seal Floorboards (...

    Spyder Sightings

Spyder Sighting :2thumbs: Saturday 6/25 my wife and I were riding through Genoa, Illinois on Rt.#72 in the afternoon. Passing us going the other way was an identical 2011 RT Limited with a happy bearded guy who waved vigorusly. The incredable thing is that Genoa is a very small town whose...

    Smooth shifting

Shifting Interesting info on this blog. My transition from my Harley to RT SE-5 answered here. I have been shifting around 3000 rpm and sometimes get a hesitation / hiccup when it shifts. So taking all this in as stated I'll make adjustments and use higher rpms. Certainly a continued learning...

    Whats Going On

My new spyder RT Limited has 466 miles so far. Yesterday when I started it an orange symbol appeared and said "check engine". I checked the oil as per manual and it was OK. I restarted and it was normal so pulled out and went about 50 yards and the same engine symbol "check engine" came on. I...

USER NAMES/HANDLES - What does yours mean? Where did it come from?

Names When I registered I tried "tripod"(taken) than wanted three wheels(taken) so just put 3pod so as not to get a brain ache for choosing a name.

    RT Limited

Dash Problem Y Rider - Thanks for the informative reply. I knew if I posted a question somebody would give an answer. Notifying the dealer B/4 the 600 miles check is good advice so I won't miss my trip in case parts have to be ordered prior. How do you like your RT Limited? I feel self...

    RT Limited

I just got my 2011 RT Limited 3 days ago and have been riding to get the 600 miles for service B/4 a trip in early July. More seat time is certainly a learning curve from 2 wheels. Twice my dash has suddenly faded almost to black and only the speed is barely visible in a light gray strip...

    Locked In Reverse

Picked up my new RT Limited yesterday and getting acclimated to the machine. Tonite after I backed into the garage I mistakenly shut the key off while it was in reverse gear. Now I can't paddle shift out of reverse and it won't start ( probably cause it is in reverse gear). Dealer is closed and...

    Trickle Charge question

Battery Charging Battery Tender is the way to go. Install a pigtail attached to the battery terminals and when done riding and parked at home plug it in. I do this unless I'm riding again the next day. It will keep the battery always topped off and extend the life. When storing for winter or...

    What footwear do you use?

I have worn Cruiser Works motorcycle boots for years on the 2 wheeler. They are comfortable to walk in and are waterproof. Protection of feet and ankles is important. Also any skin exposed on legs and arms has potential for road rash. We never get up saying I'm going to crash today - it just...

    Hand gesture.

nojoke Kind of mean thinking I'd say.Harley riders are the first to assist if needed unless one has an agenda like "1 finger wave" attitude. I only hope my acceptance and help by "Spyders" is the same as when I rode my HOG. Anyway thats my story and I'm keeping to it!!!

    New Guy

I just purchased a 2011 Spyder RT Limited and will take delivery in 7-10 days. Hate to leave my 07 Ultra Classic but realistically my confidence and ability on a 2 wheeler is diminishing ( will be 75 soon). Three wheels gives me new horizons more safely. Trying to learn the protacol for Spyders...
