• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    Kumho Ecsta AST

Bald in the middle of a tire indicates over-inflation. Any tire that is over-inflated will not give longevity and the "normal" amount of miles that a properly inflated tire will yield. It also adversely affects handling and braking performance.

    Great day to ride however...

We are also in a lockdown in the state of TN, except of course for "essential" things....the usual grocery store, Pharmacy, Dr. visits, fuel, going to work in an essentially mandated job. The way I see it, pretty much all of the above "essential" things put you at some degree of risk, depending...

    Garmin or Tom Tom ?

Oops.....I missed that question in #12! I plan on doing one of two things. 1. Remove the left side panel and tap into the provided accessory wiring that comes off of Fuse#6 and then on to the base of the provided mount...or... 2. Buy an Anker 15,000 maH USB battery pack to provide either...

    Garmin or Tom Tom ?

Another huge advantage to using GPS vs. cellphone and Google, beside the things mentioned above. Google requires cell service to constantly keep the maps updating as you travel (unless you download the area to your phone before travel). If you don't download AND you travel in a place that...

    SpyderExtras Sway Bar Review

I just bought the BajaRon sway bar kit for my '19 RTL and put it in last Saturday. We rode Sunday two up and yes, it's night and day difference having the BR sway bar vs. the stock OEM sway bar. The sad part............I've just been put on leave for 30 days WITH full pay....and our state just...

You could always change the internet connection to Dial up! Then tell your boss that you've got two speeds.................Slow......and Stop! And if he doesn't like the one you are doing now, he D&mn sure won't like the next one! Works for me all the time! :2thumbs:

    Garmin or Tom Tom ?

I just bought a new Garmin XT and of course they have the Lifetime Maps. The big difference for me though, is the older Garmins with the lifetime maps feature, you had to use the "Garmin Express" software and actually hook the GPS unit up to the computer that had Garmin Express installed on it...

    2020 RT Sway Bar

Ron, No reason to think that you are "wearing this out". I have always felt that when a vendor produces a product and it does what they say it will do...and...they produce that product at a fair price that allows the customer to purchase it AND the vendor is able to make a fair profit from...

    2020 RT Sway Bar

I just installed one on a 2019 RTL this past Sat. and took a nice little test ride across the Foothills Parkway and then rode Deals Gap....in from the TN side, to the store and then back out. The BajaRon Sway bar makes a H U G E difference in the corners and stops the wallowing from the...

HowTo: Video, "How to lift a Spyder."

I got to try out a couple of new items this past weekend. I had purchased a set of the Black Widow ramps (6 1/2" lift) as well as a Pitbull motorcycle lift. Since I'm a new RTL owner and had never lifted a Spyder before, I decided to place the ramps behind the front tires and then back up on...

I could be wrong, and I certainly don't want to speak for Ron, but I'm thinking that he doesn't do installation work on stuff like that. You might check with him before hand. I would say that a "spirited" ride through some serious twisties would quickly convince you of the need for a new sway...

    A Busy Day Yesterday...

Mike, that is correct....south end starts/stops at the junction of U.S. 129 there by the lake. The other end of it used to be at 321...between Walland and Townsend. The new part starts there at 321 and continues north all the way to Wears Valley....at least for the present time. There is...

    A Busy Day Yesterday...

UPDATE........I just got a chance to try out the Spyder with the BajaRon sway bar installed....and all I can say is.....OMG. The difference is night and day with the way the bike tracks through the corners. I ride rather aggressively sometimes and like to push the bike in fairly deep before I...

Yes Sir....I wish I had a Dollar for everytime I've been across the Foothills Parkway. Have you been on the new section yet? It opened in November of 2018 and it is just absolutely Gorgeous.....and of course freshly paved ect. We drove the car across it the very first day it was open to the...

    A Busy Day Yesterday...

So, being a new Spyder owner (2019 RTL), I have been wanting to do a few mods that many owners do, so nothing exceptional there, but it made for a busy day yesterday. So I've been gathering up some of the things required to be able to do maint and general work on the Spyder, as well as some of...

    North Carolina Graham County closings

Something to keep in mind here folks, and this pertains to Deals Gap and the resort there. Most of the "Dragon" is located in the state of TN. The last mile, when you cross the state line from TN into N.C. is in Swain County. So technically, as it is presently, you can access the "Dragon"...
