• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Anyone mounted a Zumo XT in place of Garmin 660 on older RTL

Not sure what you mean by "out of the box is designed for a handlebar mount". Mine came with the handlebar mount option, but it also came with the AMP 4 bolt base and a plate with the 1" Ram ball mount that bolted to the AMP base.

USER NAMES/HANDLES - What does yours mean? Where did it come from?

I started using "triplethreat" when I joined a Yamaha FZ09 forum back in 2013. As you may or may not know, the FZ09 motorcycle engine is a triple cylinder with gobs of torque. Anyway, when I decided to join here a few months ago, right before I bought my Spyder, I thought it would be...

    Zumo XT

I used the switched accessory wires under the frunk. I figure that if I'm stopped somewhere and I need to use it without starting the Spyder, it's got battery power to run on. And BTW, those wires are hidden really well, I looked and looked and looked some more. Finally, I bit the bullet and...

    New to me RT

gg........I'm in the same boat, I just bought a new '19 RTL in late February and after riding two wheel motorcycles for almost 50 years, getting the Spyder has been a big change for me also. It does get better each and every time I go out on it, but I wish I had a dollar for every reach for the...

    Zumo XT

Joe, post 4 is the picture that I posted of the back of the GPS and was meant to show the shape of the "Mounting" hole for the supplied base with the XT. It also shows the rubber covers for both the micro SD card slot and the cover over the port for the mini USB cable input for charging and or...

    Garmin ZUMO XT info.

And.........even better news with the XT........It will download map and firmware updates via WiFi so you don't have to hook the GPS up to your computer and go through the Garmin Express app anymore. You can still do it that way, but why? Very nice!

    Zumo XT

Even though it is a motorcycle GPS, there is an accessory for the XT for mounting in a vehicle. That accessory kit comes with a base that has a 12V cigarette lighter/power port plug on the end of it. You probably would need/want to shorten the cord though or you'd have a bunch of cord all...

    Tire balancing

I have a static balancer and a NoMar tire changer in my garage....it has been used over the last 13 years for changing and balancing motorcycle tires. If I were to make a guess on the number of tires that I've changed and balanced, I would guess that the number is over 150 tires. At one time...

    Spyder Accessories

I'm a little late to the party, but I was just going to say....he's not only legit, he's pretty damned funny. I watched his video on changing out the sway bar and I also bought the PitBull floor jack from him after I got my pneumatic motorcycle lift sold. The PitBull he sells is an awesome...

    Zumo XT

It is a pretty easy hookup and the only thing I would add here it that if you route the wiring really tucked away in behind the bodywork, try to make sure that you have easy access to the fuse just in case something happens and it blows. Mine ended up being accessible by just raising the frunk lid.

What Tire gauge are you all using?

Here is the one that I use on quite a few things. http://www.longacreracing.com/products.aspx?itemid=1715&prodid=7354&pagetitle=Semi-Pro-Digital-Tire-Pressure-Gauge-0-60-psi And the story behind it is when I bought it about 4 years ago, I was doing a lot of motorcycle track days and running...

    Trailer size

I brought my 2019 RTL home in a 6' x 10' utility trailer with room to spare. The 2020 models are a bit longer and wider, but it still should work.

Which to get F3 Limited or RT

I recently bought a new 2019 RT Limited and the biggest thing to me between the F3 and the RT was the seating position and handlebar placement. The RT seating/handlebars is more like an upright motorcycle or a naked standard. The F3 seating/handlebar arrangement seems to be more "cruiser...

    Zumo XT

Here is a picture of the back of the Zumo XT. The area within the red is where the mounting base fits..... On the right side of the picture, the power button is on top, the next opening (covered with a rubber flap) is where the micro SD card goes if you need one (can put in a micro SD card...

    Zumo XT

I purchased one a few weeks ago, but you would probably need to be more specific than "the old one" in order get an answer. As far as mine is concerned, the last motorcycle specific Garmin I have owned was/is the Zumo 550 and it definitely won't fit that mount. Maybe someone else can help, but...

High Mileages on the Three Cylinder Engines?

Looks like I've got some catching up to do. Mine has a tad over 500 miles, but I just bought it at the end of February. Two things are in my favor though, I'm retiring two weeks from tomorrow.....and the warmer weather is on the way. Stay safe y'all and here's to a bunch of happy/smiling...

Is there a Hill Hold feature on my 2019 RTL?

I took to mean that he was asking about a hill holder feature for when you are stopped on an incline/hill and it was supposed to keep the bike from rolling backwards if your foot wasn't on the brake. My F350 Dually has that feature and it's called hill assist.
