• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Exactly what I was thinking! I hope they never pass legislation that requires seatbelts for motorcycles.....I'm going to be a criminal!

New and First Time Spyder Owner

Welcome to the forum....I'm a fairly new member here myself. I noticed that you live in Southern IL. Just curious if you purchased from Holzhauer in Nashville, IL? I live in the Knoxville, TN area, but previously lived in IL for 52 years before moving here in 2006. I drove all the way from...

My New Spyder Now Has It's Own DNA.....

Not sure if Foremost does it on their own. We had called AARP for a price quote and all of this went through AARP and Foremost. We had to join AARP in order get the pricing that we got for the Foremost insurance........so they may not be offering it to someone that just gets Foremost.....but a...

My New Spyder Now Has It's Own DNA.....

So when we bought our new Spyder a few months ago, the most reasonable insurance that we found was through Foremost, via AARP. So yesterday, a small package arrived in the mail and when we opened it, it was a DNA+ kit for the Spyder. It was already pre-registered to us and all I had to do was...

    USPS is confused

I've experienced the same thing with BajaRon. He lives about 60 - 70 miles from me and if I order in the AM, I usually receive the package the next day. Going to have to get up that way when the Virus thing is under control or ??? and meet him personally.....maybe even talk him into a ride...

    Zumo XT

I put the shade that you linked to in my shopping list at Amazon. So far, I really haven't had any issues with glare (not much anyway), but I may decide to do it if it becomes a problem. Thanks for the link Troop <<<real name not used>>>.

    USPS is confused

Of the three, USPS, Fedex, and UPS, the USPS is by far the worst at tracking information and staying updated. Several times I've had something coming USPS and get a notification of the package travel for tracking purposes. Over several days I would keep checking and ZERO updates on tracking...

    Zumo XT

Nope sorry. I've got an RTL and anything that goes on the bars is going to have to be mounted with a Lamonster Spyder cuff.....which I now have, along with the drink holder. Dang I'm getting old!

    Mean people suck

Not motorcycle related, but still funny. I had a girl (a friend of the gal I was dating at the time) flip me off and also verbalized her actions after I said hello to her (she was very drunk). I told her that I didn't take "walk ins" and that she would have to make an appt. I caught her right...

    drink holder

I also use the Drink2Go for the passenger cup holder. Up front, I've got a LAmonster Spyder cuff with the cup holder on the back side. I already had an insulated cup that would fit, so I didn't purchase that.....every works great.....front and rear.

Keyed power for a Dual USB /Voltmeter. Where?

I just installed a Zumo XT on my '19 RTL and tapped into the Acc. wires that are up front. Open the frunk and remove the battery. Once the battery is out, just to the driver's side of the battery opening are two wires that are not connected to anything....that is the Accessory wires. One of...

Is the Customer Accessory Circuit keyed or live?

I purchased and downloaded a Service Manual for the Spyder and it includes the wiring diagram and all the other stuff that would normally come in a service manual.

Is the Customer Accessory Circuit keyed or live?

The short answer is.....YES! OK, now let me explain. As it comes from the factory it is setup to be hot when the key is on. The fuse that feeds that circuit and be pulled out and moved over one slot and then the wires are hot all the time.....key on....key off...no key at all. I'll check my...

    Mean people suck

I started on motorcycles way back in 1971 and grew up in an era where almost everyone on any type of motorcycle gave a wave to anyone else on a motorcycle. Today's climate amongst the motorcycle community has evolved somewhat and not everyone thinks of all motorcycles as a community or...

How best to tie down an RTL in a toyhauler RV?

In reference to the link you posted.....member "bensonoid" .....that is the exact method I use also. The straps I bought hook directly into the E track and the roller is placed behind the front wheel. I have this setup for both my 6 x 10' utility trailer and my 44' Grand Design Toy Hauler...

    Tire balancing

I guess two great minds think alike...I've done the very same thing....tire and wheel together on the balancer....rotate the tire around the wheel and then set the beads. Thanks for sharing

    Tire balancing

This isn't always the case. I've mounted many motorcycle tires on wheels and the valve stem location is sometimes the heaviest part of the wheel, but not always. I finally got to the point that I would put just the wheel on the balancer and find the "real" heavy spot on the wheel before trying...
