• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    Oil Issues

Just to be clear,... I'm no grease monkey,... so bare with me here, please,... I JUST had my 600 mile service, picking it up tonight from my dealer, and I JUST had them use Mobil 1 4T 10w40 at roughly $70 a case. (Used the BRP filter per the recent changes). I did this in preparation for the...

    What's the real capacity

I rolled into my local Shell one night after a ride, no bars on the digi. I literally think I was on fumes! Filled the tank with 5.6 gallons with 156 on the trip meter. Knock on wood, I still have never run her dry, but that was a close one I think. Haha!

A few vendors at the Lamonster BBQ

Aww man! I've been eyeing those Elkas for a while, and was hoping they might come to the BBQ, but I just can't swing wrench day. I have commitments here in MD that Wednesday night prior that I can't shed. Grrr... Thursday has to be our travel day. We are planning to hit the ol' dusty trail...

    Downshifting with SE5

Me too,...downshift manually most of the time. I do it primarily because I hate the sickening "clunk" of a automatic downshift when I goose the throttle at too low of an RPM. Ugh,...

    A Positive Article!

Dunno if this was previously posted, but heres a really good, positive, article about the Spyder. http://jacksonville.com/autos/2012-07-27/story/web-fun Nice to read something positive without the "disabled, scared, or otherwise unable to perform" clauses attached. :sour:

    Looking for ideas.

Currently, I just replaced them with the stock BRP caps. I ordered them online and snapped them in. I kinda like not having to worry about more gauges. I like watching the scenery. I do kinda like the idea of a depth gauge though,...someone should make that, haha!

coolant leak under spyder after parking

You're not alone I have this also. The pooling never gets much larger than ,..a silver dollar, maybe, and it definitely has a petroleum smell and feel to it. I checked my oil as well when I saw it, and that seemed fine, so it's some kind of coolant over flow or something. I haven't really been...

The Grass Is Never As Green As It Appears,...

Due to some of the heavy subject matter recently, I took some time over the last few days to look around some of the other manufacturers forums, the "competition" if you will. Just to see how the other side lives. Their forums look similar to ours in respect to issues and complaints. Coolant...

    tribal look

You know, I typically don't go for this sort of thing, but those black graphics on the blue bike, in the style they are scripted in, look really cool. Very nice! It's tasteful, and looks good! Great job!

Has anyone given their Spyder a "Name"???

My wife and I refer to "her" as simply "The Bike" or the "The Spyder", but I knick named her the "White Widow". She is most defintitely a "she". Now, my buddies wife refers to it as the "Rainbow Trike", because she knows it pisses me off, haha! Its all in good fun, but sometimes shes not very...

    IT FINALLY HAPPENED

Happened to me also,... Right out of the box, 160 miles in, limp mode and all the lights lit up. VSS, ABS, DPS, etc, etc, and then my boots flew off! (not really)... Needless to say it rattled the wife's faith in the bike, and my judgement. Brand new $28k machine on the side of MD 32 with...

    Spyder Sightings

Green RSS in Baltimore - 8/17, 4:30pm Saw a couple, 2up, coming out of the Wells Fargo (I think) on Liberty Road in Randalstown on Friday, 8/17, around 4:30pm. I waved, but you probably just thought I was a lunatic (which is kinda true), ha! I would have been on mine typically, but its in...
