• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    Rear preload

Sounds like . . . . . . . . . you and your dealer have an issue to resolve. In my 42 years of riding, I've seen plenty without adjusters. Last year when I bought my ST-S, I noticed that it didn't have adjustable shocks on the front ( like my GS ) or rear. That turned out to be OK for me...

    Operators Guide

Agreed! . . . . 100% Including a link to the online manual and the page # is the 'un-crass' thing to do. But, every rider owes it to themselves to become familiar with the manual for those times when the internet isn't available - and it allows them to ask more focus questions about what they...

    Rear preload

What is #1 ? Knowing what you know and what your needs are, why didn't you ask before you bought it after your test ride? Or at least ordered one with the upgraded rear shock. The F3-S Package options are pretty clear on what is included- none of them have upgraded shocks. Tom

Next time . . . . . . . . don't ride nude. :yikes: Yes, a loose grip and using your legs in corners are two key lessons. It it is great to hear you are enjoying it. Tom

How many Spyder Ryders are Retirees? How long and from What?

I was very lucky, generally, I had great bosses and fantastic jobs . . . . . . . . retired at 55 in 2004 from the Oil, Refining, Plastics Industry - mostly Information Technology positions. In another century, I was also a teacher and a freelance artist. To paraphrase Bill Watterson, " Life is...

    Gear chatter in neutral?

I think that given your reputation . . . . . . . . you are making your F3 nervous. It is probably afraid of what you are going to do next. While the F3 is the "gutsiest" Spyder out there, sometimes even they meet their match. Yeah, take it into the shop, let them pamper it a little, give it...

I had a Serious accident on my new F3!

Thanks for letting us know . . . . . . . . we can all use a reminder how dangerous life is on the road. I hope you continue to mend and get back to your life as soon as is possible. I am your age and know how tough it can be. I will be thinking of you, please stay in touch. Tom

    Blue Ridge Windshield Mounting issues

I would not think so . . . . . . . . just guess here, but I would think that it might rotate and then allow the right gap to firmly grip the bracket. Fileing sounds extreme. Can you tell if there is something in the hole keeping the bolt from going all the way in? Does it fit on one side...

Minor yet vital observation from my demo ride RE: F3 mirrors

I totally agree. . . . . . . . . the F3 mirrors are great. They are the best I have ever had on a bike - and I use them a lot. The one thing that catches me every once and a while is that ( I think ) objects ARE closer than they appear. That may just be a difference from my GS and ST-S...
