• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    Garage heat options

I replaced my ventless gas wall heater and electric resistance heater with a mini-split. Works great. Biggest issue with the natural gas blue flame heater was the moisture that it put in the air. Turn it on and 20 minutes later every single metal item in the garage was covered in condensation...

    New vs Used

Mike, I agree with Bob, stick with an RT for the wife's comfort. One more thought, keep looking for one with lower mileage and a warranty. I see that you're in Florida, home of the inflated price trikes. From what I've seen, 3 wheeled conveyances cost more there than anywhere else in the...

    Other than your Spyder

Yup. 08 Victory Vision. Won't part with it for anything. Bought the Spyder because the boss told me that she wasn't comfortable on 2 anymore, so got it as my 2-up machine. Sold an 07 Victory Jackpot to make room in the garage. Bottom line, if I'm solo, I'm on the Vision. If Momma is along...

    Heated seat wiring?

Marvin, thanks very much. One more question: Does the BRP heated seat have the on/off switch on the seat? If so, that wire's hot and switched with the ignition, which is exactly what I'd be looking for.

    GPS volume?

I had the same issue. Double check the volume of the GPS. On my 550, there are 2 volume settings. One is accessed via the touchscreen, and the other by one of the external buttons. Turning up the volume with the screen adjustment did nothing to help, but using the external adjustment worked...

    Heated seat wiring?

I'm considering ordering a Corbin seat, with the heating elements. How have you guys wired them into the Spyder electrical system? Ideally, they want to be on a switched circuit so that you can't kill the battery if they get left on. Does the RT have a dedicated heated seat wire somewhere in...

    Ultimate Seat

I'm interested in this as well. I'm a big guy, 300 lbs, and the wife is not tiny. We always are 2 up, so the midrider position is it for me. Anyone else of similar size want to "weigh in" on the comfort?

    Another Issue.... digital voltmeter

It's working correctly. A 12 volt storage battery (sealed lead acid, wet, gelled acid, whatever) when fully charged stores at 12 volts . That's 2 volts per cell x 6 cells. The alternator on your Spyder will put out about 13.1 - 13.3 volts at idle, and anywhere from 13.2 to 14 volts when...

Spyder vs Bike In The Comfort Stakes.

I wouldn't call it that obvious. Honestly, my Victory Vision is definitely more comfortable for long hauls. I've done 1100 mile days on the Vision. My butt would be sore for a week if I tried that on the RT

    Oil change diy

I just changed the oil in my RTS last night for the first time. Frankly, after all the people on here who talk about how complicated it is, I was stunned by how easy it was compared to some of the things I've worked on over the years. Thoughts: You need a total of 4 tools. A T30 driver for the...

Thanks very much for the info! Hopefully someone with a Mustang on an RT will speak up. Jim

Is anyone using the Mustang seat?

I'd really like to ask someone who has the Mustang seat a few questions concerning their reasons for buying, and did it resolve whatever issue(s) they were having. Anyone?

    Map on Signature

Your profile pic IS there. I just looked. Please re-read what I posted above. What you're trying to do is have your AVITAR pic show up at the top left of your posts. It's a seperate pic, NOT the "profile pic".

    Map on Signature

You need to set your avitar pic, not profile pic to have it show up on your posts. And if you want 2 maps to show in your sig, you need to combine them into a single .jpg
