• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    2012 RT-S; yes or no

I agree with those that have recommended taking a look at the Ryker. We have a 2014 RTS. My wife got her license and has driving the RT some, but once she got on a Ryker... it was hers. She loves it and feels much more comfortable riding it than she did the RT. Just yesterday she told me...

    RT Fog Light bulb Replacement

The left one does take a certain amount of swearing... and replace them with good LED lights so you do not have to change them a second time!

    HowTo: Ryker Floorboards

I put on a set of Lamonster's Ryker Floorboards on my wife's Ryker... she loves them. Floorboards are a great addition.

Purchase Can-Am from private seller. Can seller declare $1000 to safe buyer sales tax

Massachusetts says book value or selling price, which every is higher, will be basis of sales tax. We fought against taxation without representation... now we have taxation with (poor) representation! :-)

    Spyder Blocks

I had some left-over "Link Levelers" from RV days. (Works the same as a piece of 2X6) and you can build them up if you want it higher than the first level. One level is just enough height to slide the jack underneath.

    I lost another Spyder!

I can relate, but now my wife is very excited as we stopped at Flamingo Motorsports and put a down payment on a new Ryker for her that will be out of the crate and ready for pick up next week! Maybe when I see it sitting quietly in the garage I can sneak out on it too!

Who Rides a Spyder to Work?

I have had my 30 mile commute for over 20 years. Have always ridden whenever possible. Being in central Massachusetts that means (1) there is a portion of the year that the bikes are hibernating, and (2) being a rural commute it is many times the best part of my day! If temps are above...

    Harbor Freight Lift

CJ, My apologies, mine is the J&S jack (similar to Pitbull) https://jsjacks.com/product/can-am-spyder-lift-adapter/ Bob, what does the Spyder adapter look like for the pitbull lift? I was looking at their site but didn't see one.

    Harbor Freight Lift

I did use it for a couple of oil changes but was very uneasy about it's wobbliness. I ended up buying a Pitbull lift with the Spyder adapter. I know a number of people will say that is a waste of money, but the peace of mind having the RT stable while elevated is worth it for me.

    Good info

This is an internet hoax, here is info from Snopes.com : https://www.snopes.com/fact-check/cough-cpr/ If the coughing is not done at the perfect sequence, it will do more harm than good. Chewing an aspirin (and calling 911) is the better alternative.

Planning a ride for next year (Maine to NY)

Can't go wrong in ME, NH, or VT! Depending on how far north you go, Colebrook, NH has the motorcyclists' monument... 9 https://www.roadsideamerica.com/tip/856 )and that would allow you some road time along the VT/NH border with Quebec as well. If you choose that route, stop in Derby Line, VT...

    Dropping a trailer?

Keep the tongue locked... and if possible, use the trailer chains and lock around a signpost in the edge of the parking lot. Thank being said, I have traveled around the U.S. and Canada over the past 30 years and have never had an issue leaving my tow-behind in my spot at the motel/hotel. Bob

    Trailer Shake

I had an issue with a shake on my trailer -- not with a BRP trailer -- and it was the nut on the wheel bearing was not quite tight enough so it was a wobble. I agree with above about checking the balance of the tire -- but before you pull the tire off see if there is any play with the tire...

    RT Bike Lift Options

I have the Harbor Freight and was always concerned about how much it wobbled as it was jacked unit I braced the Spyder once it was up... just took delivery of the J&S (with Spyder adapter) and love it. The confidence it gives me in its stability while be jacked and in the air are worth the...

    Americade is dead

If you look around the internet there are those that say they had a great time and it is fun (as I did and the 30 other people I attended with this year). We have been going for most of Americade's history (which started in 1982 not the 1960's) and is still managed by the same family and the...
