• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    Air bag again.

2016 RTltd, Set the rear air bag pressure to about half way on the bar graph when I got the bike new, and never altered it since. Tried to increase the pressure to take a passenger yesterday and the bar graph does not appear on the dash and no reading on a tyre gauge on the valve under the seat...

    Hows your rear fender

Rear fender. I had the same issue on my 2016RT. I took the bike in for a wheel alignment check and mentioned it to the mechanic. He raised the seat and slackened 4 bolts which he said held the whole back end on. After aligning the fender with the tyre he tightened the 4 bolts, took about 10...

    RT MOT

Me too. My RT is only18 months old ,but since I found out that it would have to go to a car test centre for it's MOT I have wondered about this potential problem. Luckily my nearest MOT centre does bikes and cars and the owner is a keen biker and friend. I was wondering if you were to remove...

    Rear wheel alignment.

I have a 2016 RT Ltd to which I have just fitted a new rear tyre. I have since ridden it about 200m and the belt tracking is within limits, less than 2mm from the flange. What I have noticed is that the bottom of the rear mudguard which comes to a sort of point is not in line with the centre of...

    Tri-Axis Handlebars DO work.

Tri Axis Bars. I recently fitted a set of these bars to my 2016 RT Ltd and found them to be the cure for my aching shoulders. The only thing I found to be a problem is that because I raised the rear jacking screw nearly as high as it would go, all the switches on the bars are now out of reach...

What to do with old helmet

Old helmets In the UK we have a charity called "Red Cross" who provide medical cover to all types of events including motorcycle events. I give my old helmets to the local branch so that they can practice safe helmet removal on dummies and on each other. Maybe there is a similar organisation in...

    DIY tire replacement

Tyre removal. Here is a tip for tyre removal from a Gold Wing site. 1. Break the bead on both sides. 2. Feed a large zip-tie under both beads and join over the tread. 3. Pull tight until both beads are tight together. 4. Repeat every 6 inches, right around the tyre. 5.Push one part of tyre...

    Tri Axis bars.

I have a 2016RT Ltd. I have just purchased a second hand set of Tri Axis bars which I intend to fit myself. The kit of parts did not include any instructions. I believe they are not very good, but better than nothing. Does anyone here have a set I could borrow, or know where I could get a set...

    Adjustable suspension.

I have a 2016 RT Ltd with adjustable rear air suspension. I recently had the dash instrument cluster replaced due to fogging on the inside of the glass. The grey bar graph which shows up when I manually adjusted the pressure setting has gone, being replaced by a red vertical bar which just reads...

Thanks Thanks for both of the replies. The flashers and LEDs are now working well, still a little faster than they used to be I think, but still within limits. Alan

    Adding LEDs

I am trying to add an LED strip to the front flasher/mirror units, to be seen better and so I can notice if the flashers don't cancel. When I connect them, they do work but flash quite quickly. Is there a way to slow the flasher back to normal speed. Thanks

    Front "yawn" tires.

Nankang AS1 Hi Merlot, I can get hold of these tyres in the size you stated, 165 65 15. Does changing from a 55 standard ratio to 65 make much difference.

    Front "yawn" tires.

I am looking for some front tyres for my RT here in the UK. The front runners as far as wet/dry performance, seem to me to be Duraturn Mozza 4S. The ads say this is an American made product, So has anyone any information to share. Thanks

Now I really wish that I could say that....

Rule breaker. JerryB. This clip breaks every rule laid down by the British CAA. As in the USA people like this are causing loads of proplems for all legitamate, safe model fliers.

    LED headlights.

Hammer. With my strong friend pulling the panel and duct out of the way, I managed to get the cover on but could not push the top catch on. A 3ft. length of broom handle allowed a hammer to persuade the top catch to lock, simple.

    LED headlights.

Success. Thanks to all for the replies. Dripping blood on the keyboard as I type this. I got a friend to pull the panel and duct far enough for me to get the cover back on, and then used a long piece of wood and a hammer to engage the catch at the top. I hope the LEDs last as long as advertised...

Fitting TricLED headlight and low beam units to my 2016 RT Ltd UK version. I am having a problem with the left hand low beam unit as it looks like I will have to remove the air duct to get access. Can someone please give me some help as to how to get the duct out as I can't see how it is...

    Belt alignment HELP.

Belt help. Thanks for the replies. As I thought it seems more than a simple belt alignment problem. My local dealer where I got the bike has only been Spyder dealer for 7 months. I was his first customer. Although one of his techs. has been on some courses he does not have any depth of...
