• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Does anyone have/can share the BRP Emissions data sheet for a 2014 RT?

You can't be the only Spyder owner in all of New Zealand. What did they do for the others when they needed to pass emissions? Surely, they didn't require every owner to come up with specs that the manufacturer is required to file with the government.

Kenda tires - I truly don't understand the hateful responses to Kenda tires. I have over 22,000 km on mine and they're only 50% worn.

That, frankly, is incredible. Not surprising for the fronts. They should last you about 25k (40,000 km). Most get around 9k miles (15,000 km or so) from the rear tire, and I never saw one that did not wear in the middle. Another sign of a good tire is how much weight it takes to balance it...

How can you tell when it is time to replace front shocks?

Well, you do have a point there. That would be a very inexpensive way to go. Still, for that price, they have to be pretty cheaply made.

How can you tell when it is time to replace front shocks?

You might think so. But not if you're purchasing it from BRP. Each and every component is sold separately. At $137.00 for the body, they can't be much of a shock.

How can you tell when it is time to replace front shocks?

That's just for the shock body. The spring (which you should also replace), is another $62.49. And they aren't even adjustable! You wouldn't need all the other parts (sold separately). You can move them from your current set. They don't wear out. Still, not a very good deal at all.

Help - new tires and wheel speed sensor errors - Limp Mode with Codes C006C, C003A, C1290, & P2159. Anyone else? Any advice?

The only time the tone ring on any rotor needs to be touched, much less come off, is if you are changing rotors. No other process or service requires anything be done with the tone ring. This is one of the story lines that does not make sense to me. Again, it may be me missing something.

Help - new tires and wheel speed sensor errors - Limp Mode with Codes C006C, C003A, C1290, & P2159. Anyone else? Any advice?

I did not watch the video. But this is a very confusing story. Are we saying that the Tone Ring was missing? When you replace the rear rotor, that part must be transferred. But you would know right away as you'd be getting codes. Or was it just that the speed sensor needed to be replaced? As...

    A Day With Lamont

I spent this last Friday with Lamont. I know he means a lot to all of us. I am reporting here for all who care about him. It was a very good day. He drove me around in his race ready Mustang GT. It was the royal treatment and he went way beyond anything that I might have expected. First, we...

RT Muffler needs repair at flared end - any thoughts or sources on repair pipes with flares?

I think your best bet would be to find a cheap pipe or cat delete. Cut and weld the bad section. Maybe someone else will have a better idea.

Sudden noise, chirping, & vibration from RHSide engine - anyone else? Ideas?

Maybe I missed it. But what did you replace, repair, to cure the chirp?

How can you tell when it is time to replace front shocks?

Good shocks are expensive. Manufacturers save a lot of money by putting relatively low quality shocks on new machines. This goes for most vehicles. Though I will say that BRP is providing better shocks than they did in the beginning. The first 5 years (2008-2013) were dreadful. Without riding on...

VSS Faults, what do you think is causing this?

Low voltage on startup will create all kinds of codes. Anything less than 11 volts at startup is asking for issues. The Spyder computer is very voltage sensitive. If the codes are voltage related, correcting the startup voltage will cure it. Make sure you get a quality battery with at least 350...

Maggie Valley NC Event - Sep 30 thru Oct 3

We have been asked to attend the Maggie Valley Rally, Sep 30 thru Oct 3, as a vendor, installer. It's a bit of a last minute arrangement, so our product line and services will be somewhat limited to the less ambitious endeavors. As it stands now, we will do what we can on a case by case basis...

What are these Brake pad "liners" called and where can we order new ones?

I considered both possibilities. But I already got burnt with one error. I didn't want to add to that score. Though I suspect that one of you may be correct. Honestly, I would expect better quality from Brembo.

I HATE Vapor recovery (ECO) gasoline pump nozzles! Is this just "my issue" only? Anyone else? What do you do to avoid this?

I spent 53 years in Southern California. Just sighting facts that everyone already knows.

I HATE Vapor recovery (ECO) gasoline pump nozzles! Is this just "my issue" only? Anyone else? What do you do to avoid this?

Exactly, that's what I do. These have been a pain for motorcycle riders since their inception (long ago in California). The West Coast seems to come up with bad ideas first.

What are these Brake pad "liners" called and where can we order new ones?

You are correct, Snowbelt Spyder. It does appear that OEM rotors on 2013 and later (Brembo equipped) brake systems are a Brembo product. As you point out, they do have the official Brembo logo stamped into them. Unfortunately, this, in my opinion, actually makes things worse. Still, I apologize...

You Don't Know What You've Got Till It's Gone

Sorry about that. Thank you for asking. Not sure what went wrong, but Peter is probably right. Here it is. It's hard to describe how special it was to get this from Lamont the other day. I'm just sorry that Lamont is taking the picture instead of being in the picture. We just didn't think...
