• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Put the Parking brake on but it still rolls! What am I doing wrong??

Using that same logic, you should also press on the brake pedal when turning the parking brake OFF. Especially if you pressed on the pedal when turning it ON. My thinking (however wrong it might be) is that if pressing the pedal 'sets' the rear brake pads and the parking brake just holds that...

Windy Days are for the Birds

My wife has likened it to riding a horse; you need to let the horse move around under you. As IMS mentioned above, you might be gripping too tightly, and every time the bike moves (wind, road ripples, etc.) your tight grip instinctively tries to bring the bike back into line. Yes, it moves...

My Quatrac 5 mileage to date

I don't know about the rear tire, but my brother-in-law has a Mazda Miata and said that the front tires are commonly used on Miatas. They apparently use slightly different sizes, based on personal preference, much like we do on the Spyders. .

Is this too much Air Bag Pressure?

I have never seen anything specific to an RT, but I have heard some general numbers related to other bikes. The article from RaceTech that RayBJ posted gives great information how to check it on a motorcycle. That method might be a bit awkward on an RT, but it's still accurate. Some numbers...

Compare a 500 mile ride on a Spyder with same on 2 wheels?

Sounds to me that there might have been something lost in the translation. 1. IT'S NOT MY SPYDER. 2. I HAD LIMITED TIME ON IT BEFORE COMMITTING TO A WEEKEND ON IT. 3. One fact not pointed out earlier was that the ride was not a "sit back and smell the daisies" ride. It was a spirited romp...

Dealer changed service staff - now refuses to install ANY auto tire on a Spyder.

Please don't think that Spyder tires are "motorcycle" tires. Yes, there is a reason that they say "special motorcycle use only" on the sidewalls, but it's not because they are "motorcycle" tires. The major reason they have that wording is that they are the same size as what is used on a Mazda...

Does anyone use Fuel Additive in their Spyder? Is it safe?

Sea Foam won't hurt your Spyder. Personally, I am not convinced that it will help anything, either. I know some guys that will add a capful or two to every tank. Not sure what that's supposed to 'cure'. It has been promoted for off-season storage. I tried it for a couple of years, then went...

Thinking of adding Fender Lighting - input fm those who have?

I did exactly the same thing. Some careful application of black tape to prove the concept, then some even MORE careful masking of the fender so I could apply some black epoxy paint. I was surprised how many coats of paint it took to black them out completely. For anyone planning on...

Dealer changed service staff - now refuses to install ANY auto tire on a Spyder.

Last year, when I approached our local dealer and asked about mounting non-stock tires, they said "we can talk about it." I have my car work done at a muffler chain (Muffler Brothers) that handles anything engine/driveline/suspension related. They also sell and install tires. The owner of...

    Who Uses Shell Rotella T-6

Another T6 5w-40 user here. First change on the Spyder, but have been using it in my Wing and all the Suzukis in the stable for many years. I would use it in the cages, too, but they require 10w-30 or 0w-20. Have to go to Mobil1 for them. .

Build date is 05/2020, selling as a 2021 model?

My wife's '17 RT-S has a build date of 05/2016. As I have been inside, I have noticed the date code tags on various items. Most of them are dated around 12 MAY 2016, so I gather that the bike was assembled during the third or fourth week of May. Yes, it's one of the first few 2017 Spyders...

Great article in Rider magazine about riding the Ohio 555 on an RT

Those aren't "horse turds". That's "Amish horsepower exhaust." .

Ryker Seats - Tall Guy Conundrum

I thought you said you were a "tall" guy? As you can see, Pete has you beat by a long shot, and I'm just a bit more petite, I'm only 6' 5" and a svelte 15.7 stone. Have not tried on a Ryker for size, it's not quite my style of transportation, but you should be able to find a seating solution...

How do you remove the Drivers seat back rest?

Seems to be plainly-stated in the first post. :dontknow: Maybe you need to turn your screen upside down because you are "down under"? :joke: .

Spyder And Two wheels - how hard to switch back & forth?

I don't get a lot of time on the Spyder because it's my WIFE'S bike. However, for the times that I DO get to ride it, it's easy enough to remember which way to turn the bars for each vehicle. Some of you have a bit more experience than I have on two wheels, I have only been riding since 1974. .

In oHIo, we don't have them. .

Inspection stickers - where do you put them?

Don't know about the Spyders, but some of the two-wheelers I know put them on the bottom of the passenger floorboard. Fold it up, you can see the sticker, fold it down, it's hidden ... like it should be. .

    Where is the Spyder's CoG?

A quick VISUAL reference for the CoG is between your toes and the back of the front wheel. Pretty much right through the vents that are in front of your feet. Not real exact, but will get you close enough to start. I understand your frustration in getting an answer to your simple, direct...

    2021 S2S motor blew up!

I find it rather curious that you have impeccable trust in the dozens of people that mindlessly slapped parts on as it was going down the assembly line, but lose all trust after ONE guy does a little bit of work on it. I'll save you the effort of putting a sign on it, I'll offer $20, sight...

    248 Miles Roadtrip!
