• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

First road trip coming up - any last minute Words of Wisdom?

Before you leave for your trip check your brake pads, brake fluid, and your air filter. You would be surprised how some riders forget to check these things and then they hear scrapeing on a rotor where a brake pad is fully worn down or the engine is not operating at peak power because the air...

2021 RT rear tire change cost - did I over-pay?

You paid waaayy too much. If the tire was $188 it was probably a Kenda. And the labor was really overpriced. Next time buy a car tire that will last a lot longer than the inferior Kenda and find a dealer that will mount it. Many dealers will not mount a car tire but some will.

Is the base F3 the sportiest model?

Also the F3S has cruise control as standard. I believe the base F3 does not.

The oil plug - Murphy showed up today.

Many problems have been observed by torquing the oil plugs. Just hand tighten the plugs and then 1/4 turn with a wrench.

What's causing this Wobble while braking?

I vote for a warped rotor problem. I had a bad shimmy on the right front wheel when doing hard braking. I took the rotor off and put it on a glass table. I was able to insert a sheet of paper under some parts of it. I rode to BajaRon’s shop and they put a measuring device on it and, sure...

Front Sprocket Recall - Dealer Won't Release Spyder to Owner

I would go to the dealer and demand that they return my Spyder. If they won't budge I would call the police and file a theft report. Better yet, have someone from the police department go to the dealer with you.

Those of you that Concealed Carry on your Spyder, what type of holster do you use?

I use a Sneaky Pete Holster OWB. Left side as I am left handed. There is a free app called Legal Heat that lists any states that recognize where you can legally carry. Also I am a member of US Law Shield. They will provide a lawyer in any state if you need one if you used your pistol for...

Red Dust of Death Recall???? Front Sprocket Recall - FINALLY....

In 2019 I had my pulley replaced by a dealer in NV with Loctite. No cure time was mentioned and I rode the Spyder to St George, UT immediately afterward. When I had the pulley replaced a month ago for the recall the pulley was still in good shape with no wear and no dust. After the...

Anyone else a loner and not a group rider?

I have taken many long trips solo on my Spyder but have also ridden with another Spyder friend. I prefer solo or just one other rider that I get along with and wants to ride with the same pace. On long trips it is also handy to have a fellow rider to split the hotel bill with and be available...

A small Safety Mod to our 2022 RTL with a big improvement!

Received my turn signal indicator and shift pad today. Excellent products and fast getting them here. It is nice to know that some of our Spyder members will take it upon themselves to improve a BRP part. Kudos to TCBoone and FrogmanDave.

What’s your best memory/story (so far) with your Spyder/Ryker ??

In 2019 I rode my F3-S to Texas from western NC , met a buddy in Bandera that has an RT, and we rode to California for the NorCal Spyder rally. From there we rode to OR, WA, ID, WY, CO, NM, and TX. We split up in the panhandle and he rode south to his home and I rode east to NC. I was on the...

Who Out There Has Gotten The Replacement Sprocket?

I had my sprocket replaced today. It took a little over an hour. This was my fourth and, hopefully, final sprocket. I have 70,500 miles on my F3-S and hope to get 100,000 before I replace it.

Do I really need a GPS?

I have an iPhone with Google maps and a Garmin 595 GPS. Google maps works most of the time but sometimes a GPS is a necessity. For example I have been delayed by a wreck or a fallen tree, or electrical lines down on the highway and was in a location with no cell signal. I used my GPS for an...
