• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

About to pull the trigger on a 2023 or 2025 Spyder RT Dark - what am I really paying for? Any other major considerations on differences?

I’m probably showing my advanced age and my innate frugality (bride calls me world class cheap), and I would go for the 2023. Safecracker’s comment about the Zumo XT is excellent, IMO, as the Spyder is wired for a separate GPS as I understand. His second, very good comment is regarding the BEST...

Is there a 'Full Tank' Triangle? If so, where? '22 RT

In most all gas pumps I've used since purchasing my Spyder the velocity of fuel coming out of the nozzle and the degree of control one has over the flow into the tank is miserable. I also find it very difficult to get the tank as full as jzeiler's pic shows.

Battery Tenders - should you use them or not?

I too have the Battery Tender Junior. Dealership comped it in the OTD deal in Oct 2014. Replaced original Yuasa with another in 11/19 @ 63.5K miles and now 92K on odometer

Time for brakes on my 2014 RT - any tips or recommendations?

2dogs is in the bull's-eye! Get EBC fully sintered pads and, if you're willing to accept the price, purchase EBC rotors. Then, if you follow Ron's instructions on bedding in the pads, the brake system will stop you like the Hand of God!

When Only On Street Angled Parking is available, do you back in, or drive in?

I agree with those who consider the location and traffic.

My Back between the shoulders hurts after 6 hours of riding - anyone else? Would handlebar risers help? Is this normal?

Sindee, thank you for your answers. From them and your OP comment that you have to sit very far forward on the seat and you try to keep your shoulders squared, I assume you are small of stature. If that is the case, it appears to me that when you purchased your RT-L, you were asked to fit...

Do I really need to Change O-Rings at Every Oil Change? Do you?

What he said, particularly with the sharp threads on the 1330 ACE engine OEM sump plug, the one needing a T45 Torx bit to remove.

My Back between the shoulders hurts after 6 hours of riding - anyone else? Would handlebar risers help? Is this normal?

While I do not disagree with the comments of previous responders, since you are a new member the most important answers to me are those to the following questions: 1. What is the year and model of your Spyder? 2. Is this your first Spyder? 3. If this is not your first Spyder, what was the model...

Do People Get Thrown Off of Spyders?

As the famous Stirling Moss said, "It's better to go in slow and come out fast than to go in fast and come out dead." In addition to kissing your wrist as Clover said, plant your outside foot hard on the floorboard as you lean into the curve. If you go into a turn too fast you can upset the yaw...

My RT-L first service tomorrow - is one of the 2 drain plugs magnetic? Any advantage to having both magnetic?

One of the things I found on my second oil change, first DIY, was the threads on the sump drain plug, the T45 Torx bit one, were very sharp, so much so that in the process of changing the O-rings I wrapped the threads with painter's tape to protect the new O-rings. I subsequently went to hex...

    Spyder vs Georgia State Patrol

Never underestimate the power of human stupidity. I must add, high performance driving school in my 911 C4 was nothing like the GSP driver in the video.

Considering a Spyder - Can I Ask You Some Questions?

In words with as few syllables as possible to avoid misinterpretation, you must test ride both the RT and the F3. Why? Because you, and pillion sit on the RT and in the F3. That opens a world of difference between the two. 2dogs' last sentence is in the bull's-eye.

New member, thanks for having me - and where's a good place to get these things?

An Ilco X270 is the correct blank to have a non-chipped key made. Am not familiar with the F3 ignition lock so don't know if the key needs to be beveled as shown in the picture so it can be shoved all the way into the ignition lock as must be done for use in an RT.

Has anyone added Marvel Mystery Oil - any comments?

I agree with 2dogs. The odometer turned 92,000 today and it's functioned flawlessly with nothing but gasoline in the tank.

Another long roundtrip in southern Norway.

One of the most enjoyable experiences of my life was a week in February in the early 1980s at the Norwegian School of Infantry in Elverum where I learned cross-country skiing. No motorcycle at that time though, but a lot of splendid exercise for a runner and long distance bicyclist.

How can I leave the parking brake off when parked in the garage?

Don't overthink the alleged problem. The parking brake cable is specified to handle way more than the force the brake motor will apply to set the brake. Moreover, and you can test this yourself, turn off the engine with the Spyder in gear, move it manually and you will see that in gear, the SE6...

Newly Bought 2010 Spyder RT for my father to enjoy his final years in life.

I strongly agree with the other posters who've complimented you on what you're doing for your dad. Given the age of the Spyder and the fact that the dealership said the fuel should be replaced, did they say anything about the age of the tires? If they are OEM Kendas, there should be a DOT...
