• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

2024 will Crank, but just won't start! More later...

I think you are needing a priest to perform an exorcism on it. No brakes whilst out on the road having finally got it to run seems like it is possessed. That would have been quite exciting for sure. My 2021 RT LTD went through repeated rear suspension failures from new for over six months. It...

2024 Dash Display suddenly changing &/or freezing - anyone else? Any fixes?

Mine ran fine here the other day and the temps here were 107°F at the time according to the bike. I didn’t run fine though and I came home when my coolant vest ran out of the cold coolant pack inserts. Fortunately we are back into the high 90’s now. Still too dang hot for me, but there you go.

New Spyder Sea to Sky and Trailering - will I be able to tie my Spyder down properly?

Typically small trailers like my Spyder specific Kendon have little or no suspension. Strapping the Spyder down through the rear wheel and the front lower suspension A-arms allows the Spyder to act like it's sprung, rather than unsprung, weight. If the trailer has a wooden deck, screwing a...

Smoke from the Canadian Wildfires reaching Wisconsin - anyone/anywhere else in the lower 48?

So now it’s dry lightning and flash flooding season. The smoke will be back soon enough. We’re just missing an earthquake to round the season off up here on the Wasatch Front. We’ve had the all time record heat. I suppose we could have another plague of locusts. Utah never fails to impress.

2024 Dash Display suddenly changing &/or freezing - anyone else? Any fixes?

Check if you are running the latest firmware release, V 5.1.0. As previously suggested, also check your battery voltage with the bike off, then ignition on and not running, then while starting, and lastly, with it running. FYI, my Spyder, a 2026 Sea to Sky, actually came standard with a Yuasa...

Your Weather News @ July 2026 Edition

Since they got the Iron and Cherry fires under control, the smoke situation in the Salt Lake Valley, at least here in the South East corner, has improved and I can breathe again for the most part. Let's hope it stays that way, but I'm not holding my breath. It's going to be a long summer to say...

What is the 'ideal' Ride Height? Should the front shocks be biased toward more clearance or less?

Some folks fit 165/60R15 car tires instead of the stock 165/55R15's. They also run 18 psi pressure in these car tires with the much stiffer sidewalls instead of 20 psi in the stock tires. Both of these factors will lift the front likely by at least 1/2" and they report improved handling. I...

Is my Battery failing? Or not?

The trouble is, very old people like me tend to call everything a trickle charger whereas these days what we really mean is a battery maintainer with float capability and other advanced protection capabilities built in. The abilities to detect the battery type is also assumed. Like you imply...

My 2025 RTL Display has blacked out a couple of times - any thoughts?

The Spyder’s have a quite high parasitic draw. The maintainer is going to help with that. Additionally, if your garage gets cold like mine, over the winter it preserves the batteries health. Extreme cold and drained batteries don’t do well in my experience, they die catastrophically by spring...

Any ideas on what might be causing this (((Vibration))) on my 15 F3S?

You machine might well be one of the earliest years of the 1330 cc triples. I suspect over the years minor changes, perhaps in machining tolerance changes, have made the engine smoother. I notice my 26 engine is a little smoother than my prior 21 engine. This might be down to individual unit...

My 2025 RTL Display has blacked out a couple of times - any thoughts?

And fully charge it before fitting it.

Any suggestions on good Ear protection for lowering wind noise?

What brand of helmet are you wearing as some are considerably quieter than others? I take my hearing aids out because they won’t fit under the helmet but I can hear the comms just fine. I’ve been wearing Shoei helmets for years now as they have one of the quieter helmets out there. I tried...

What did you do to your Spyder today?

Stuck here in Pennsylvania but fly back to Utah tomorrow. I’ll probably take it for a run on Tuesday if the temps are back below 100F. Getting withdrawal symptoms.

Any ideas on what might be causing this (((Vibration))) on my 15 F3S?

I wasn’t quite sure of you description of the problem. Does it occur at certain speeds no matter which of like three gears you are in? Or is it related to engine revs regardless of speed? If it’s related to engine revs does it do it more in some gears than others but it’s still engine revs...

My 2025 RTL Display has blacked out a couple of times - any thoughts?

I’d go with that battery voltage being too low. That’s most likely a battery issue but the dealer will be able check the charging system for you. They should be fitting a USA made Yuasa AGM battery as that was the OEM fitment I think. They should fully charge it before fitting it. Heat or cold...

My 2025 RTL Display has blacked out a couple of times - any thoughts?

The other thing to try is to enable your WiFi on the bike, then see if there are any software updates required on your bike. If there are, connect your bike to your battery maintainer and update the software over the network. Be careful when installing the software, the screen will go black on...

    Random thought for the day

I had one too when I lived in the UK. That thing was waterproof through the nastiest of wet weather. It was warm too with its fleeced cotton lining. It’s a shame what was a reasonable price jacket has become a high price fashion accessory last time I looked. Every trials or trails rider owned...

Any ideas on this 2012 Spyder RT knocking sound?

Having had a lot of BMW boxer twins over the years, the first gear clunk on my Spyder is nothing in comparison.

2025 Can Am Spyder RT Limited - Power Steering not working! Do they have to ACTIVATE this? What else needs activating?

Yes, the “they all do that sir” response. Lovely. The tires may have slightly flat spotted. They may not be correctly balanced. Your alignment might be a bit out, toe-out rather than toe-in. Check your tire pressures are 20 psi up front and 28 psi rear to start. The fronts should be matching...

    Random thought for the day

Unfortunately, when traveling internationally you need to carry more than just a few things. There’s no home to leave things at. You try to become somewhat aware of your surroundings. It’s a risk, but having worked in many unsavory parts of the globe, you tend to be more situationally aware than...
