• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

5 MOTORCYCLES THAT ARE NOTORIOUSLY EXPENSIVE TO MAINTAIN

Dealing in both the BRP and Harley dealer worlds, I can tell you the grass is not greener on the other side. For the customer or the dealer. Service costs on new Harleys are roughly the same as on Spyders and they both have issues.

Where can I get a 2010 RT parking brake cable? Any other options?

Parking brake cables for 2010 through 2012 RT are the same and interchangeable.

Can I Solder Parking Brake Cable In Place?

No, you need to adjust the parking brake mech and cable length at the rear wheel. It will not pop out when properly adjusted.

New Spyder sold with no factory warranty - is this right? What say you all?

Warranty started on the in service date, not the date you bought it. For a demo, it was the day it entered service as a demo unit.

2011 Rear Wheel Static Balance - do it with hub & sprocket fitted, or without?

No real need to machine anything. This is standard available kit from Ranger for balancing motorcycle tires.

2011 Rear Wheel Static Balance - do it with hub & sprocket fitted, or without?

We have been mounting and balancing Spyder wheels and tires for over a decade now. With the right equipment, both front and rear can be spin balanced correctly and fully assembled. No need to remove the brake rotor and on the newer rear wheels, the hub is not removable anyway.

Front Tires wearing on the inside - aligned TWICE! What's next?

While there is no camber adjustment, the camber can be checked while doing a laser alignment. Should be 0 to -2deg and even within 1 deg side to side. If its off by much, the front suspension has been damaged since it left the factory. There is no adjustment and the damage could easily be the...

What does it take to get CB and intercom on a Spyder?

BRP CB kit is no longer available or serviced. Most major manufactures have dropped support for CB and most riding clubs are following suit. Ours has completely converted from CB to Sena MESH communications.

Can I do a Tri Axis handlebar swap from a 2014 RT to a 2015 RT & vice versa?

Handlebars for 2010 thru 2019 RT are interchangeable. BUT swapping TriAxis bars from one bike to another is a LOT of labor and not much cheaper than just buying a new set of bars.

How long is the avg Spyder Spark Plug Life?

On my personal bike I decided not to change the plugs at 28k and see if performance or idle quality suffered over time. That was years ago and now the bike is at 98k and still running the OEM plugs just fine. My personal opinion on the plugs is that if the bike is ridden all the time and does...

My new baby - which gas? 87, E10, or is 91 octane better?

BRP has confirmed that the owners manual information is superseded by the emissions label ON THE BIKE. The 1330 requires 91 Octane MINIMUM to run correctly or timing retard will occur. Long term that will also foul plugs and carbon up heads leading to yet worse performance. Your owners manual...

Anyone help with a diagram of a Rear brake caliper rebuild or hints/tips? Any kits?

There are no service parts available for the Spyder calipers. Front or rear. They are only available as new assemblies. BRP has never had part numbers nor availability for individual parts or rebuild kits. Brembo builds them to spec for BRP and does not sell service parts for them either.

Is a 2015 F3-S Rear wheel the same as 2015 RT?

The 1330 engine is 12.5:1 compression so not well suited to forced induction as is. And on the OPs question on rear wheels, All 2015 and later Spyders, RT and F3 use the same rear wheel. Some F3S still get the larger performance rear sprocket. The later wheel is also the current replacement...

My new baby - which gas? 87, E10, or is 91 octane better?

That is an easy decision. Go for the 91 or better octane first, then the lower ethanol. The engine performance will drop as soon as you put the lower octane fuel in when the knock sensor detects ignition knock and dials back the timing. The bike is designed to handle up to 10% ethanol and any...

After hearing so much hoopla, I finally tried Buc-ee's! Never Again!

You obviously missed the sign at the entrance that says no trucks, trailers, and no motorhomes. Buc-ees is not a truck stop, and they don't want to be. To be frank, if you are towing, they do not want your business. The pumps are laid out the way they are to be difficult for large vehicles ON...

Best seats - are Russell Day Long seats REALLY that good?

After having many of the seats you mention and others over the years and finally spending the time and funds to get a RDL built for me, YES The RDL is amazing as each one is built for the individual butt. Every butt is different. Having done this, I will never bother with other seats again as...

    What maintenance tasks are proprietary?

There are NO maintenance items that cannot be performed on your own or by an independent mechanic. There are some that require tools such as BUDS software to work on the bike but its not limited to the dealers. In fact BRP does not own BUDS and dealers have to buy it same as independent shops...

Anyone else got water in the battery area?

Battery is not in a sealed compartment. It sits among the front suspension and is fully exposed to weather and road grime.

Any tire companies that make 165/55/15 tires other than Kenda?

We use the Yokohama AVID 175/55R15 as the replacement and they fit fine with all 4 fender types. Great tire, amazing traction smooth quiet ride and LONG life. We have been installing this tire on Spyders for a decade now and have a great many sets in use.

Anyone replaced Spark Plugs on F3-S? Is it really a big job?

I do not recommend changing them unless the Spyder is not running or idling well. My current F3 has a bit over 97k on it and still runs great on the original plugs. If it ever starts misfiring etc, I will replace them but until then, its just too darn much work to get to them. The only...
