• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Thanks for letting us know you fixed it and what the fix was

Do you have a vegetable garden &/or grow any Fruit trees? What time & effort do you put into it, and what do you grow?

My wife is the gardener in our family. We live on an acre of ground here in very rural central Utah. It used to be her father's dairy farm. Her brothers ran it as such for a while, but it is all gone now except for the acre we live on, which contains the old house, built in 1901. Since we are in...

    Happy 250th Birthday America!

Hmmmm I never thought of that! I'm still in a patriotic mood so maybe Monday. Ron, I think you sell yourself short. Your service was just in a different area. But very important to maintaining this country. I am very grateful for the spirit that motivates people like yourself to become servants...

    Random thought for the day

For our 4th of July celebration we saw the movie Young Washington. A very good movie about the younger (twenties) Washington. If you are still in a patriotic mood, find a theater near you and go see it.

    Question for mecsw500

In the Metro Salt Lake City area there are 3 dealers, another in Vernal. There was one in Ogden but not sure now. I think Logan has closed and Provo has discontinued Spyder. St. George with a very active Spyder riding club has no dealer, go figure. As to mounting tires, for the fronts I go to my...

Just When You Think You've Seen It All...

You can laugh and joke all you want, but there are lots of cars running around out there in exactly the same or worse condition. I agree with mecsw500, bring back the inspections, Utah eliminated theirs not too long ago and I think it was a dangerous move. Utah is on the way to setting a new...

Anyone ever thought of Fender Mounted mirrors??

And you think these things are expensive now, wait until the accountants get hold of that little technically possible addition.

Any Modification recommendations from those who tour on their Spyders?

Joining the AMA was a good move. I added a Gel pad made by motorcycledave.com. It fits under the seat covering and in a cutout you do to the seat. For me it turned a 2 hour seat into an all day seat. Great mod if you don't want to spend big bucks for a custom seat. You will also need something...

Anyone ever mounted a RAM ball directly to handle bars?

No, I never did drill a hole, I used hose clamps instead. I have two balls on my mount. I can attach anything I want to the balls. I just happen to have a phone holder on one and a large cup holder on the other. I see in looking at their site, they now have a ball mount that is held on by a...

Anyone ever mounted a RAM ball directly to handle bars?

I used a motorcycle brake/clutch reservoir mount laid sideways and held on with 2 screw type hose clamps. Ram # B-309-1u. I will post a picture later. They also make one that has 2 balls, one on top and one out the side.

    2012 RT with unknown issue - won't go into gear; P0504, C1183, & PO61E - anyone else?

Remove the plastic as if you were going to do an oil change. Lastly remove the black rubber cover over the big aluminum piece the foot pegs mount to. You should see the shift lever. There is a slot in that lever that must align with the dot punched into the end of the shaft it is mounted to...

    2012 RT with unknown issue - won't go into gear; P0504, C1183, & PO61E - anyone else?

1st thing - since you are new, you do know it must be running to shift? The Clutch is centrifugal and must be spinning to work. The shifter is also hydraulic and works off oil pressure so the engine must be running. 2nd - low battery giving false codes, readings 3rd - low oil giving bad shifts...

Even tho you have gone to a 1330 Doug, you are still a wealth of information to those of us who still ride these old antiques.

2012 Spyder Back in the race!

@2dogs, Rusty, the mechanic who worked on my Spyder, has sign in his shop which says the same thing. However, in talking with him afterwards, he did say that if there were no other options, he would go the used route.

Check Engine lamp and fault codes P061E & P0504, Brake signal not plausible, Brake lights on all the time, is this normal, or is something else wrong?

I thought the Spyder was more comfortable than my Royal Star too. I know I can ride it further in a day. I am glad to hear she still enjoys getting her knees in the breeze.
