• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

A plea to site Icons and those posting DIY videos. Attention Newbies.

Damn good advice. What can start out as a simple task to save a few pennies can soon turn into a megabucks trip to the dealership.

Still a LOT of sway & clunks after installing Bajaron Sway Bar - ideas?

I don't know what model you have, mine is a '17RTL. Sway on mine was a failed ball joint, it took the dealership I was using at the time 1 month to diagnose.

Just a question about my 1 gal reserve fuel location and any "Venting" concerns.

From an ex firefighters perspective no don't add a vent. Fuel tanks are vented to a closed system. Most portable fuel containers are designed to hold the contents under pressure in normal use if subject to normal heat - high ambient temps.

I took a Demo ride on a Harley trike - much prefer my RT!

Interesting. I tested a HD trike and the best term I could come up with Agricultural.

    Which motorcycle lift?

I have the Big Blue, and while it was a few $$$$ my back, knees and other parts of my body are very happy I bought it. It can lift my RTL high enough to avoid having to bend down for hours on end and is easy to operate. I did have an ATV lift but you are pushing your luck keeping it stable in...

Just a concept, but I like it!

I second your vote - damn that's nice

Any opinions on using Rain X on your Spyder's Windshield?

I've used it on mine since 2018 and no issues. I use the normal one on my helmet visor - I feel the non plastic one does a better job than the plastic suited product.

Which is the preferred model & why - Wireless Bluetooth 5.0 or 4.0 TPMS?

$5.98 - across the ditch here at New Zealands 3rd Island (aka Australia), its around 2L of fuel. Great to be able to help

Which is the preferred model & why - Wireless Bluetooth 5.0 or 4.0 TPMS?

Bluetooth 5 is faster, has greater range, can handle crowded frequencies on which it works better than 4, and consumes less power. However the way in which TPMS works with data and the devices that will transmit or receive it, won't benefit much from any of the new features of 5. Licensing I...

Dealers are refusing to work on Old Spyders!

It is ridiculous, it does make me wonder if BRP are behind this. So much for getting value out of ownership.

Spyder enjoyment vs. experience of ownership

You hit so many aspects of Can-Am ownership on the head. I almost walked away from the brand when I bought mine new at a dealership. BRP had some extras as part of the deal and it took almost 6 months to get what I was entitled to - dealing with BRP Customer service was Customer frustration...

What were the best 3 A/mkt items you added to your Spyder?

    1. Nankang Tyres 2. Wilburs shocks all round 3. Baja Design S2 Pro Lights 4. Airhawk seat cushion (my butt made this bid)

Anyone else a loner and not a group rider?

I do some trips solo - I drive to one of 3 intersection in town and decide if I go North, South, East or West. I certainly enjoy those trips where it doesn't matter what time I stop for the night/meal-break/rest-stop. I prefer to get away early (pre dawn) and maximize the ride time. I do also...

Can you REALLY remove Headlight Bulbs with ONLY the Service Panel Off?

Yes, the last time I did the bulbs in my '17RTL I lost 2 kilos - some of it on the floor, some still attached to the sharp edges inside that area of the Spyder, and some on the paper towel wiping the blood trails everywhere.

What the heck is this thing? 2017 RT

Thanks for the update, got a laugh out of the answer, good to hear the mystery is solved

What the heck is this thing? 2017 RT

Is it the inner cover for the front wheel bearing assembly?

Is there already a Trailer wire harness connection?

I also made the harness - our trailer connectors use 7 pins. I bought the required deutsche fittings from AliExpress to maintain the waterproof connections - it looks the part and has been very reliable.

Is there already a Trailer wire harness connection?

Under the seat there is a panel under which there is a connector that is meant to be "decoupled" to allow a trailer harness to be inserted between the two connectors on the '17 RTL, it may exist on the RTS. The picture below shows the approx location of the cover under the seat on another model...
