• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Is this Krikit Belt Tension still too tight?

I don't know how the F3s are set up but the manual on my 2024 RTL states "with the rear wheel in the air" for setting belt tension.

RT 2020 vs 2024 - Is the ride different?

While my 2024 is my first Spyder I did not like the handling and before I had 1500 miles on it I went for new front shocks and the Ultimate sway bar. Now I like the way she handles

Broken bracket that holds the lower portion of the big black side cover to the bottom of the saddle bags...

Gee, I was hoping there would be pic of the fuel filter and compressor. ;)

Annoyingly, my '21 RTL will only cancel Cruise by touching the brake pedal or downshifting - are there any other ways?

My take away here is that there are three "flavors" of RTs, each with a unique set of instruments and controls. Early, pre 2020; middle, 2020-2023; and late, 2024 and +. I will endeavor to only assist others with a similar vintage of RT like mine in the future to avoid confusion.

How I connected my 2024 RTL to a Bushtec Trailer with independent Tail, Brake and Turn signals

While I have not had a chance to use that terminal box, I suspect that all the (-) terminals are internally connected to each other. You can verify with an ohm meter. So as long as you have one of the (-) ground going to the Bushtec trailer (-) connector you just need to run each of the (+)...

Annoyingly, my '21 RTL will only cancel Cruise by touching the brake pedal or downshifting - are there any other ways?

The cruise button turns on the cruise initially and it stays on until you shut the engine down. Once you use the set button to pick a speed you can cancel the set with a press of the cruise button, at least on the 2024 RTL

Annoyingly, my '21 RTL will only cancel Cruise by touching the brake pedal or downshifting - are there any other ways?

There is already a button on the handle bars, the cruise button also cancels the cruise.

What did you do to your Spyder today?

As Paul Harvey used to say, "now the rest of the story". After spend two days installing the new shocks and sway bar, the wife and I went to breakfast today up in Tennessee, and then rode some of our favorite back roads. Even she noticed a big difference in ride smoothness and the corners were...

What did you do to your Spyder today?

Spent Saturday installing my Baja Ron Front Shocks; took a break on Sunday; then Today, I installed the Baja Ron Ultimate sway bar. Then I was too pooped to take it for test drive. I did notice a big difference in body dip when mounting the bike. Tomorrow, we are going to breakfast on the...

Annoyingly, my '21 RTL will only cancel Cruise by touching the brake pedal or downshifting - are there any other ways?

I find I use the cruise button most as it allows me to avoid the hard engine brake when the cruise disengages by rolling the throttle up to match the RPM.

Annoyingly, my '21 RTL will only cancel Cruise by touching the brake pedal or downshifting - are there any other ways?

My 2024 RTL will cancel the cruise with brake, down shift, cruise control activate button and rolling the throttle hard off. The manual states that it will also cancel on a VSS fault.

87 Octane seems to work just fine

You can use a lower octane than what the manufacturer recommends without damaging your engine. The ECU detects any pre ignition knock and de tunes the engine to prevent it from doing damage but your gas mileage and performance will suffer due to the de tune. We had to be very careful on the BMW...

My 2016 RT-L - Planning on an Octane Research project

Barring all other factors if you use the Octane of fuel that the engine was designed for you will always get the best mileage possible. Anything above or below that Octane is either a waste or will cause the ECU to de tune the engine resulting in a degraded mileage. It is just physics.

    Random thought for the day

Always wondered, do snow mobile owners go out to the shed and start their snowmobiles and run them for 10 minutes every so often in the summer storage months?

My New 2025 Sea-to-Sky - any suggestions on what gear or upgrades to get first?

The first thing I did to my 24 RTL was add lighting to both front and back, the wife followed me home and said "I can't see you".

Why won't my Spyder trans Auto upshift?

I am curious to know what happens if you HOLD the upshift button and could a temporary short in the circuit cause what he experienced? I guess I'll try it next time I go for a ride.

Battery/Starting slow spin - is this common & why doesn't it start like a normal motorcycle?

That is for an external charger, not while running down the road, and you should monitor that charging to prevent the battery from overheating

Battery/Starting slow spin - is this common & why doesn't it start like a normal motorcycle?

Ok maybe an hour is a bit much but 10 minutes is not enough time to replace 1 % of the battery capacity. You just took 100 amps out of the battery and now you need to replace it. That would be 16.6 amp minutes and assuming the charge rate of the system is low (1 amp or less to avoid over...
