• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Oil level check results confusing to me

BRP does not recommend only letting it idle. To be clear, the (clarified) instructions say ride at least 9 miles, and then let idle between 20 seconds and 10 minutes. I personally, will go for the idle 20-30 seconds route after the ride, which is how long it will take me to get off the bike...

2019 RTL - what are the correct on/off switches, like the foglight and grip heater switches?

Not too hard. Pro tip: use a solid core strand of house wiring as a leader to run thin wire. Leave the insulation on the wire and tape over the leading end to protect surfaces if desired. Yes, I took off the left hand side panel, and ran the wiring up the left.

Checking oil on F3... How tricky it can be?

I know this is old, but I just wrote BRP about this (2019 RT), and received this "Hello Allen, Thank you for contacting BRP. I apologize for the confusion, the instructions should say; "Let the engine idle for at least 20 seconds, up to 10 minutes." In the meantime, if you need additional...

Oil level check results confusing to me

I know this is an old thread, but I found it when trying to answer the same question. For those researching later, I wrote BRP, and got this reply: "Hello Allen, Thank you for contacting BRP.. I apologize for the confusion, the instructions should say; "Let the engine idle for at least 20...

Two hot brake questions: EBC sintered pads whoosh noise, and either rotor or bearing noise.

Thanks Peter. That is my next test, get it up on stands as quickly as possible after a ride when they are hot. I was really just hoping to have some folks chime in with "that's the normal EBC sound, nothing to worry about" for the "when braking" question, and getting it up on stands when hot for...

Two hot brake questions: EBC sintered pads whoosh noise, and either rotor or bearing noise.

Question 1: My bike has always had a noise that I'm pretty sure is pad rub, but only after the brakes are hot. This occurs only when not braking, and is easy to hear at slow speeds, especial when running down the alley behind my house with the noise bouncing off the fences. This noise did not...

Anyone know what the Torque Specs are for the engine oil drain plugs?

I use the hex gold plugs, and torque to spec, wasn't a problem. I'm no expert or even semi-expert, but I've actually never heard of going lighter because they are (wet) oil plugs. There'd be no easy way to have them be completely dry.

Anybody used Castrol EDGE Euro 5W-40 A3/B4 Adv Full Synthetic Motor Oil?

@Smolak48393, I've used Castrol Power 1 4T 10w-40 in (hot) Texas for the past 5k miles (6qt pack from Amazon) and I am getting ready to change it soon with more of the same. No problems at all. I use BR's high flow non-K&N filter and rings set.

Is there a switch to use in the 2020+ blank spot to use as a Home Link switch for opening Garage doors?

Yep, same switches as what I posted above. (RockerSwitchPros is one of the sites that sells the Carling switches.)

Is there a switch to use in the 2020+ blank spot to use as a Home Link switch for opening Garage doors?

Caveat: My bike is a 2019 RTL. I do not know if 2020+ changed switch hole size! This body will work, and is supposedly the OEM mfr: https://rockerswitchpros.com/product/v2d1-ak0b/ You may need the double pole, etc. versions though. And the amber is pretty close match to the OEM amber, at...

Am I the only one having difficulties with Front Wheel removal on 2018 Spyder RT?

Does the 2019 RT have totally different fenders than the 2018? My 2019 has no issues with clearance.

Paint on exhaust coming off - anyone else? Any fixes?

Yes. I don't have a coated vs uncoated RLS to measure that difference. One of Ricky's pages says "our Ceramic coated model can reduce heat up to 400 degrees coated with glacier ice from Cerakote". "Up to" is an interesting marketing term. Zero and one are below 400, lol. I cannot find...

Paint on exhaust coming off - anyone else? Any fixes?

Mine has over 1000 miles on it already, and still looks great. Heat is noticeably less.

Paint on exhaust coming off - anyone else? Any fixes?

My RLS cat delete already came coated with a heat reducing “powder coat.” (I’m not sure exactly what it is.) I think Ricky charges a few bucks more for the coated ones, but I’m sure it’s a lot less than taking it to the secondary market to have it done.

2021 RT Passenger grips are not very warm and the illuminated switch is very dull compared to the heated seat switch next to it - any ideas?

Interesting. My ‘19 warmers are too hot, even on low. I have to turn them off for a bit too cool back down every so often.

2019 RTL - what are the correct on/off switches, like the foglight and grip heater switches?

Project done! It turns out you need the amber lights. The one shown with two lights is model V1D1-GKKB and a very close match to OEM. If I had to do it again, I’d see if they make a custom marine face (with the raised dots). I’m very pleased with the result and can now turn my underglow on...

2019 RT - loose antenna? The rubber boot keeps coming out.

I was hoping that's all it was, and I didn't need to tear things apart to re-mount the antenna properly. Thanks, and will do!

2019 RT - loose antenna? The rubber boot keeps coming out.

2019 RTL. A little annoyance of mine is that my antenna (rear-right, beside the top case). The rubber boot keeps working it's way up and out of the hole. I manage to twist it back into place, but it vibrates back up and out again. This makes me think something under it is not mounted...
