• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Has anyone given their Spyder a "Name"???

BB King named his guitar. Some name their cars and bikes. But I never thought of a good name ...

Has anyone else noticed excessive Right side front tire wear?

@2dogs, I tried to check it myself once, a few years ago. It seemed about right. But that was a few potholes and an obstacle ago.

Has anyone else noticed excessive Right side front tire wear?

Sounds like an alignment service would be a good idea. I just had new tires mounted. So this is probably a good time to have an alignment done.

Has anyone else noticed excessive Right side front tire wear?

Looking at my right front tire with ~12K miles, I was thinking I need an alignment. However, my wife reminded me that we ride MANY rural 2-lane paved roads. These roads are usually crowned. That would seem to put significantly more pressure on the right side of the right front tire causing this...

Damaged a Rim on my F3L when we hit about a 4" rock that slid off of a rock wall by the road - afraid to ask what a new rim will cost!?!

Thanks, I got a similar quote. But the shop generally does not do motorcycles. Since mine is a 3-wheeler, they would have been willing to give it a try. But they were a bit hesitant and I had already ordered the upgraded wheels.

Damaged a Rim on my F3L when we hit about a 4" rock that slid off of a rock wall by the road - afraid to ask what a new rim will cost!?!

I think I ordered the same wheels and tires except, since mine is a blacked out model, I ordered the black ORB type with the machined surface. It appears like it should be somewhere between the black look and the chrome look.

Damaged a Rim on my F3L when we hit about a 4" rock that slid off of a rock wall by the road - afraid to ask what a new rim will cost!?!

It's quite a jolt to hit an object. It can shake you up a bit. A wheel repair shop said they could try to repair mine. But I think this is a good time (e.g. excuse :giggle:) to get some fancier looking wheels along with new tires. I have 12,000 miles on the bike. It had original front tires and...

Damaged a Rim on my F3L when we hit about a 4" rock that slid off of a rock wall by the road - afraid to ask what a new rim will cost!?!

Finally 50+ degrees today. Time for a ryde. But while riding on a rural highway next to a rock wall, a 3-4" piece fell into our path. It was a bit of a jolt and the tire went down, so I thought I may need a new R front tire. But, as you can see in the picture, the rim is damaged. I'm afraid to...

What's best for Cold weather winter storage? Fuel additive? Battery care? Rodents?

Then we make sure we drive crazy on the way to the gas station ... make sure it's mixed good :ohyea:

What's best for Cold weather winter storage? Fuel additive? Battery care? Rodents?

I've always used a battery tender on my bikes for the last 20+ years. My batteries have always held up well. As far as tires, I have not done anything to try to avoid flatspotting ... but probably should?

New F3S Owner - is it normal for the gearshifts to be this loud?

As was stated there is "no need to momentarily chop the throttle as you shift ". It took me a while, since I rode clutch 2-wheelers for many years, to get used to NOT backing off the throttle a bit to shift. The initial "klunk" when going into 1st or reverse seems quite inconsistent for my 2021...

    Two Oil Observations ... I think ...

Hmmm .... Oil was warm but I wouldn't say it was hot. Warm oil makes you shout OUCH ! Hot oil makes you drop the plug into the pan!

    Two Oil Observations ... I think ...

Maybe I will put a microphone in my helmet from my SPL meter and measure the actual sound level at ear level. (Since we are talking about taking measurements in this thread :2thumbs: )

    Two Oil Observations ... I think ...

I have a 2021 Spyder F3L that just turned over 11,000 miles. I bought it new and changed oil at 3K, 7K and now 11K miles. I read that you are OK to go more miles before a change. But two observations: 1) After an oil change the shifting is MUCH smoother and I can also HEAR a difference in the...

What should I look for in a mesh jacket? Any Pros & Cons?

My old mesh jacket was falling apart after about 15 years. My problem in finding a new one is that I'm 6'4" and couldn't find a tall size in stock. I finally found a Joe Rocket mesh jacket in a tall. It seems to be good quality. It lets less air through than my old one did. But that is probably...
