• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Towing - To cover, or not to cover?

We've towed our 2020 RTL, on our 12' alum trailer, behind our Winnebago View several times now this year. We had one bad experience with rain going from Az to Co this last spring (May 2025). I've described the issue from back then here...

Forum IT Support Question - how to remove "Spoiler" text from BBCode spoiler

Thanks for checking that out. One of the sites I owned in the past relied heavily on using PHPBB (pre "Spoiler" support ;) ) Messed around a bit more and discovered that you can nest Spoilers ... so I got it down to one line now with the states map below it 🤪. Would have liked to have the...

Forum IT Support Question - how to remove "Spoiler" text from BBCode spoiler

Agree that it functions now much better than without using it ... the "Spoiler:" text just looked silly/unnecessary/potentially confusing to others to me. I've seen other posts stating that specifying the spoiler exactly as I did would produce the button without the "Spoiler:" text so I assume...

Forum IT Support Question - how to remove "Spoiler" text from BBCode spoiler

Yeah ... I hear ya ... spent 39 yrs as a software developer/tester at a "big blue" computer company, mainly in the role as a test engineer. Had never used BBCode up until now and this just seemed like an ill-designed UI control ... sorta like having the text "Button ..." preceed the title of all...

Forum IT Support Question - how to remove "Spoiler" text from BBCode spoiler

I asked the following question via the forum contact interface a couple of times in the last month or so but never got a reply. Thought I'd try again here .... Hello, I'm using spoiler BBCode tags in my signature to cut down on the initial visible size of the listed Spyder mods in my...

What did you do to your Spyder today?

What did you do to your Spyder today?

Headed out this AM for another trip from Az, up to Moab then to a diff part of Co this time. Finally finished adding diamond plate to the front of the trailer yesterday in case we hit rain to keep water & road debris from hitting the bike to a minimum (this time ;) ). Plan is to visit friends...

What did you do to your Spyder today?

Getting back into Spyder riding (2020 RTL) after some resolved medical issues, so I'm playing catchup ;). Bought the bike new in late '20 but currently only have about 2k miles ... and counting. In the last few weeks I've done the following mods - BajaRon Ultimate Swaybar Baldwin Ironworks cat...

Baldwin Ironworks cat delete install issue - having a hard time getting a seal! Any tips/advice?

Ended up using troop's suggestion. I first removed all of the dried on JB Weld Exhaust Sealant; wet sanded by hand both connection ends (final muffler bell end and cat delete ball end) with 220/400/600 grit sandpaper; bought a new BRP OEM exhaust clamp; lined the inner surface of the clamp with...

Has anyone tried this lift from Harbor Freight?

Put Ron's Ultimate Sway Bar on our 2020 RTL last month. After reading tons of SL forum reviews, I decided to use the suggested trailer ramps approach. Worked great, had 26" of clearance, laid out a couple moving blankets, dragged out a floor fan since it was 102 degrees at the time and knocked...

Baldwin Ironworks cat delete install issue - having a hard time getting a seal! Any tips/advice?

Great suggestion Troop. I was trying to think of something that's flexible that I could wrap the joint with under the clamp that'd withstand the heat and help seal things better. I will order a new clamp and give your wrap/ATV sealant method a try. Thanks!

BajaRon Ultimate Sway Bar arrives tomorrow ... get'n ready

Quick update - First short ride after the install since I was heading out of town (unfortunately on a plane), it seemed like I was using my hands/arms on the bars more and feet on the boards a lot more to counter the forces. Figured all that inertia had to go somewhere... that somewhere being...

Baldwin Ironworks cat delete install issue - having a hard time getting a seal! Any tips/advice?

Thanks all for the input so far. One of my initial concerns was that the new cat delete pipe "ball end" will only go into the final muffler about 1/16"-1/8", leaving very little surface area for the clamp to take effect IMHO. The shape of the new pipe "ball end" just seems too fat to make an...

Baldwin Ironworks cat delete install issue - having a hard time getting a seal! Any tips/advice?

Just "completed" an install of a Baldwin Ironworks cat delete pipe on my 2020 RTL. Having a hard time getting a good seal from the cat delete pipe to the final (stock) muffler. Very little of the cat delete ball shaped end fits into the final muffler and the factory clamp bottoms out as well...

BajaRon Ultimate Sway Bar arrives tomorrow ... get'n ready

Thanks for the info Ron. I only have a ft/lb torque wrench, just ordered an in/lb wrench which arrives Sat, just in time, and I have hex bit sockets.

BajaRon Ultimate Sway Bar arrives tomorrow ... get'n ready

Can't wait !! 😁 I decided to go the trailer/ramps route for the install on our 2020 RTL. Thanks to all who've posted lifting methods/pics in the past, that was a huge help in deciding. First suspension/performance/functional mod I've done so far. Up 'til now, it's been mostly bling and small...

What did you do to your Spyder today?

Applied more domed carbon fiber kits (bling) today to cover the scratches on the black plastic that appear if I so much as look at the bike sideways 😖. Swapped emails with Ron at BajaRon's on which sway bar makes the most sense to order (Ultra/Orig). Ended up ordering the Ultra. What a great guy...

2020 RTL with a VERY loud speaker, static only, no music- anyone else? Any troubleshooting advice? Ideas for better access to speakers?

Excellent suggestion on pulling the fuse ... duh ... thx ! ... will check out the receiver connections as well.

2020 RTL with a VERY loud speaker, static only, no music- anyone else? Any troubleshooting advice? Ideas for better access to speakers?

Just thought I'd update this issue... I hooked the speakers back up the other day and there's no more static! So whatever the source of the current to the speakers causing the static was, it must have "dried out". Which is kinda scary, since I can't image that will be the only time we trailer...

2020 RTL with a VERY loud speaker, static only, no music- anyone else? Any troubleshooting advice? Ideas for better access to speakers?

Good point on the issue being the source of what's driving the speaker noise as opposed to the speakers themselves. Haven't hooked up the speakers since coming home, partially since it's such a PIA to to get at the torx screws without being able to remove the top surrounding "panel covers"...
