• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

I may have to forfeit my "motorcyclist" membership card!

I really, really enjoy riding my Spyder RT. But I must admit that deep down I know it is not a "real" motorcycle. And in some ways that is a very good thing. The stability and comfort of my Spyder far exceeds what I used to feel on the biggest and best motorcycle that I had ever owned, a Honda...

    Is BRP GO useful?

I find the screen on my 2021 RT to be too small to be useful for navigation purposes. A larger screen and an workable Apple Play setup would be a great improvement. When I first got my RT I added a phone holder on the handlebars and used the cable connection to the "glove box" but BRP would...

After decent Ride/Route fm Maggie Valley to ToD or Cherohala Skyway?

In my opinion the Dragon is overrated and dangerous at times due to the idiots coming the opposite direction who come over the center line on blind curves. The Cherohola is beautiful, not challenging at all. The scenic views on the Blue Ridge Parkway make for a great ride, but the 45 mph speed...

At what mileage did you buy your first set of replacement tires?

I've had my 2021 RT for almost 3 years, and I'm just short of 12,000 miles. I plan on getting an appointment for an oil change and service and wondered about tires. The two front ones look like they are still brand new. The rear tire looks a bit worn but still has what appears to be a lot of...

Anyone have one of the new Can Am Advex helmets?

Helmets are a very personal item. What is great for one rider is torture for another. I've been a Shoei user for decades, and currently wear a Neotec 2 (which you can get for about $600 since the Neotec 3 came out). I used to think that HJC were very similar in fit to the Shoei, and tried a new...

Which do you like better; Toe shifters, or Heel-Toe shifters?

Toe shifter for me. Maybe because I learned to ride with that type of shifting and as it is said, its hard to teach an old dog new tricks. The one bike I tried with a heel/toe shifter had me accidentally hitting the heel lever several times. The one conventional bike I own now has a traditional...

Hands going numb some... Ideas why? Any fixes?

Foam grip covers might work better than leather-like ones. Every motorcycle that I have owned in the last 20 years or so benefited from the addition of inexpensive foam grip covers. And depending on the size of your hands, if the grip feels skinny I think you are more likely to grip more firmly...

Have you seen the Outrageous cost of Spyder accessories!?!

I occasionally get emails from Can Am, as I sure most of you do. Normally I just delete them without reading them, but today's email was about luggage accessories. I have an RT, not an RTL, and while between the frunk and the side cases I have never needed more storage room, I thought it might...

What makes a Spyder's smoother ride vs. Ryker?

This thread has made clear what most of us already know, that the Spyder is a far more comfortable ride than the little Ryker. But for those who are concerned over the huge price difference between a Ryker and a Spyder, I would add one factor. When I decided to trade in my Goldwing for a 3...

4 PSI question for our experts

I hate the hassle of adding air to the rear tire, so at the start of the riding season I put new batteries in my TPMS tire caps and then bring the psi to 2 or 3 above the recommended 28. And for the front tires I also put 2 above the recommended 18. Last year this allowed me to go the entire...

Has anyone with a '21+ Spyder got a Baja Ron anti sway bar? Worth it?

I keep reading about people making this change but wonder if it is really only the older Spyders that need it. My 2021 seems to take curves just fine. Of course I am steering rather than leaning but that is the nature of these 3 wheel vehicles. I'm curious is anyone with a 2021 or newer Spyder...

    Belt cover/guard: needed or not?

I've had my RT for over 2 years now, and have read on this website plus elsewhere that without a cover on the exposed drive belt there is a chance of having gravel or other debris from the road get caught in the belt. Is this a real worry or not?

Completed my semi annual "lie on my back and add air to the rear tire" routine

I have a similar gauge. The problem is properly affixing it to the valve stem, and also properly attaching the air pump. When I lie on my back I first attach an extension piece, to which I can then check the tire pressure, add air with my electric pump, then reattach the FOBO2 cap. I think I...

Completed my semi annual "lie on my back and add air to the rear tire" routine

Completed my semi annual "lie on my back and add air to the rear tire" routine The other day I went through this routine to get my 2021 RT ready to ride. With the FOBO2 TPMS caps, and by starting out with a tire pressure a bit higher than what CanAm recommends, I have found that I can possibly...

Do we owe Kenda an apology?

I bought my first Spyder RT new in the summer of 2021. Right now I have just under 12,000 miles on the OEM Kenda tires. The front tires look like new. The rear tire does not look like new, but the tire looks fine and has a reasonable amount of tread. I can't say that I am unhappy with the Kendas...

Think of changing from a Freewheeler - is the Spyder any easier &/or safer?

When you first ride a Spyder, make sure your mindset is in the right place. Take it as a totally new experience, not a "motorcycle", i.e., a 2 wheeler experience. Several years ago, I flirted with the idea of a Spyder and went to the dealer to get a demo ride. But I was still thinking...

Is an Aerostich suit the way to go? Or not?

Not to steal the thread, but for hot weather riding I have not found anything better than the Klim Induction jacket. It has excellent armor and allows a huge amount of airflow. The Spyder's windscreen is almost too efficient in hot weather. Even when I turn the vent to blow air on me, even with...

Leaving Key in the ignition when home, any electrical problems with the Spyder?

I grew up in Brooklyn, NY and although I left that godforsaken place almost 60 years ago, habits are hard to break. I never feel comfortable leaving a key in the ignition or even in the cup holder of any vehicle that I own, even when that vehicle is in my locked garage. I have come home from a...

Is an Aerostich suit the way to go? Or not?

I've thought about this for years. But when I am honest with myself I think that I would not wear it enough to justify the cost. For colder weather I am okay with my old Tourmaster jacket with zippered liner, and long johns and jeans (or leather chaps and jeans). If its cold enough to need more...
