• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Apple CarPlay - the good, the bad, and the really ugly

Hate to say this, but I've never been impressed with Apple products. I switched from years of Garmin's to the Innovv N1Pro unit. It has front and rear dashcam recorders, can be either Apple Carplay or Android Auto, and works perfectly every time. You can even use the screen as a rear view mirror...

Why is the engine braking so Weak?! Should I not use Eco mode?

And if you want to feel what this engine can really do, opt for the Stage 2 ECU tune! It makes the stock tune feel anemic.

How to get CEL codes on 2020 RT

To really understand what is causing the warning light will require diagnoses with BUDS2.

Is this 2013 BRP RT622 trailer for sale at $1,700 a SCAM?

Deanna, not all states require trailers to be titled. I bought my 622 from a huge dealer in Fla that took it in trade. There is no title. Also, in some states, (SC for me) trailers are not tagged unless they are for commercial use. I used the license plate area on my trailer to attach an LED flag!

Is this 2013 BRP RT622 trailer for sale at $1,700 a SCAM?

I would also ask for the DOT dates on the tires. It sure looks like a scam to me.

Help please, I'm confused about the F3 handlebar options

Attitude bars are considered Position D, which is the most forward position of the U-Fit system. Check the For Sale forum. I just listed mine for sale...

My RT-L first service tomorrow - is one of the 2 drain plugs magnetic? Any advantage to having both magnetic?

Most of us independent mechanics charge about $100 for oil change. Parts guy is a moron. Check your warranty. The Chinese battery is warranted for 6 months.

My RT-L first service tomorrow - is one of the 2 drain plugs magnetic? Any advantage to having both magnetic?

The smaller clutch side plug is magnetic. The real advantage will become apparent when you see the two plugs out. The engine sump side is a Torx (45, I think), and the clutch side is internal hex (6mm, I think). Very easy to mix up and do damage. A forum search will turn up a lot of hard luck...

Struggling to find anyone in Indiana to Service a 2009 Spyder V-Twin - any thoughts?

To elaborate on Ron's post above, I wish that BRP would develop a program to acknowledge and officially approve of independent mechanics. At least for the older machine's that their official dealers won't touch. Not everyone can afford (or even want) a newer $30,000 machine. Why abandon them to...

Should I be concerned that my Spyder has no need for pressing the Mode Button before starting?

Not to mention that ALL 2024 and newer Spyders will start right away. With the new switch packs you can turn the key on, roll the throttle and hit the starter, you don't have to wait for the safety message.

Should I be concerned that my Spyder has no need for pressing the Mode Button before starting?

No problem there. Most people would consider that a benefit! Was the one that starts without the mode button modified with either a Stage1 or Stage 2 ECU upgrade? That is an option when selecting the upgrade.

Struggling to find anyone in Indiana to Service a 2009 Spyder V-Twin - any thoughts?

This is a common problem everywhere. Also, dealers are only required to stock parts for 10 model years. Posting here is a good first step in trying to find an independent Spyder mechanic. If you were closer to SC I'd be happy to work on your bike!

FYI - HCM Oil Filter Change

There is much discussion here about whether or not you need BUDS after changing your HCM filter. The service manual says you MUST use BUDS to accomplish the HCM Venting procedure. Many people here have changed their filter without BUDS. You decide.

Another tire thread…but different¿ New Kenda XPS Roadster Tires - more durable...

I traded in my 2020 RTL on a 2025 RT S2S. I kept my front wheels with Vredestein's and put them on the 25 immediately. I had no choice but to leave my Vredestein on the rear, and made the decision to ride out the (still crappy) stock Kenda XPS rear tire before I get another Vredestein. I do...

How much work is involved in replacing the brake switch?

It's not hard to change, just hard to access. If it wasn't for the fact that the wire is tie-wrapped in an inaccessible location, you could change it from underneath the bike. Most of the right side body has to be removed.

Missing the colored rear panel on 2025 S2S - did the dealer give you one?

Very similar story. I had to make them find my rear panel, (still in the box), when I bought a 2025 S2S.
