• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Latest BRP Safety Bulletins for Shaft Replacement (2019-12) and Shaft & Sprocket Replacement (2019-13) Recalls - Jan 2025

I thought I would include a photo of how stripped down my 2018 F3 Limited was during the recall repair. While the engine was out and readily accessible, I requested new spark plugs and fuel filter. I also needed a clutch pack (the broken ring in the photo) which was handy, having the engine...

Using a Gates Krikit Belt Tension gauge, 150 to 160 lbs. with the rear wheel on the ground is optimal. Your dealer tech will, most likely, also set the tension too tight as is spelled out in their shop manual/guide info. The above range has proven, over the years by us DIYers, to be the best...

Has anyone used front wheel 'roll into' chocks on your trailer?

I use a set of MaxxHaul 80077 Standard Motorcycle Wheel Chocks. I only used the chocks themselves not using the rotating cradle or the cross bar. As you can see, the chock's width easily accommodating my F3's front tires. The chocks are bolted to T-nuts on the underside of 1/2" MDO plywood (I...

That bearing is a vital part. Good that your dealer informed you the situation and of the labor differences. Since you brought it up acdc, looking at my Output Shaft kit photo, I've wondered why the bearing you talk about (that the shaft runs on) wasn't part of the kit to begin with.

Latest BRP Safety Bulletins for Shaft Replacement (2019-12) and Shaft & Sprocket Replacement (2019-13) Recalls - Jan 2025

Here's my situation: according to my dealer's service manager, I was the first Spyder owner to ask about the recall. He immediately ordered up the kit. In this recall, I specifically asked the service manager, who pays for coolant, oil, and engine filter? His reply was BRP. The tech asked me if...

For all of us who get the Output Shaft replaced, I'd suggest that you: check the belt to driven pulley alignment and the belt tension. It seems that it's a hit or miss proper adjustment with some dealer's techs.

Latest BRP Safety Bulletins for Shaft Replacement (2019-12) and Shaft & Sprocket Replacement (2019-13) Recalls - Jan 2025

I hope that anyone who gets the output shaft recall done gets back here to tell us how it went with your dealer and the tech who worked on it. It'd be nice to see a photo of the Output Shaft Kit that Can Am supplies. What I worry about most is the engine needing to be removed to make the repair...

2022 RT Ltd - fan ran the entire ride home & then would not shut off, even when I shut off the Spyder - anyone else? Any ideas?

During the VERY HOT summer of 2021, on my 2018 F3, I too had the problem of the fans not turning on. Sure enough, it was the relays. I purchased the relays (both left fan and right fan same as OEM) from Amazon and the fans have been operating normally ever since. Here's what you look for on...

    Two Oil Observations ... I think ...

    * I recently changed to Amsoil 10-40 Metric * I can now go 9,000 miles before an oil change * I put about 3K+ miles a year on my 2018 F3L * It takes me three years to go 9,000 miles Questions: * Is it smart to run that oil for three years before a change? * Should I just change out the filter...

Where did you get your "Handle"?

Earned my Nick Name "Vito" one night in the spring of 1968 on LZ Betty three klicks outside the ancient capital of Vietnam Quang Tri, in I Corps, close to the DMZ. There were four of us troops who hung out in a Conex Box after hours. One my buddies, Pat, was a virtual encyclopedia of movies...

How likely are Gang encounters on the road?

    * Why start off buying TWO RT's? * I suggest buying ONE RT, learn the machine riding SOLO then graduate to riding TWO UP. * IF that doesn't work for you, then purchase a second RT. * ONE RT though, will be able to move the TWO of you comfortably for long distances.
