• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Broderp, do you remember the brand of those driving lights you put on your Kawasaki?

Rear wheel removal - can't get the brake caliper off or remove axle - help??

I have found on my RTL that I can roll the wheel backwards while pulling outward on the belt and I can walk the belt off. WATCH YOUR FINGERS, DON'T GET THEM CAUGHT IN THE BELT. With the belt off you can then remove the axle. I also don't disturb the belt alignment or tension.

    Your Spyder Vendors/Sponsors

since the Advertising was a pay for space type if you want your space, you should pay the price. If you feel it isn't worth the price don't take up the space. If you don't want to pay the price you should expect your space to be taken down, seems pretty simple.

    Long signature blocks - request

I like mine the way it is too. I have been here since 2012 and this is the first time I remember any problems about signature size. I view on Android, tablet or laptop.

What are you using for a keyring?

No key ring. Though I do still have the little plastic sheath but never use it.

I think Sturgis started early this year.

The Harleys are rumbling up I15 from So Cal heading North, so I figure the Sturgis pilgrimage has started. I should be seeing lots of them this week, then in about 10 days see them heading back South.

What should I look for in a mesh jacket? Any Pros & Cons?

Look for one with a soft collar that won't chafe your neck. Also be sure the armour won't block the flow of air in places where you want it. Two thumbs up if it has a warm and waterproof liner. Mine is waist length but I found I prefer 3/4 length in a jacket. I have also found that I am cooler...

What do you think your Spyder looks like?

A little late to the party, but I have to agree with Albec and others, it looks just like a snowmobile on wheels. I thought the F3 from the front looked like the indy cars from the 50's and 60's.

Need to modify driver's seat on 2023 RTL - anyone made theirs comfortable?

Call motorcycledave.com at (209) 887-3283 and he will fix you up. He can either rebuild your seat for you; or sell you a gel pad you can install yourself. I chose the gel pad, put it in myself, and never looked back.

What Cleaning products for Sea-to-Sky seats? It's different material, isn't it?

A light mixture of Simple Green will clean it up very nicely. Simple Green is cheap and made in the USA.

What have you done for Heated Gear Wiring, inc Location - '20+ RT's?

I have heated clothing from Warm and Safe. They say not to connect to any auxiliary circuits but only direct to the battery. They do make an extension cord for more remote battery locations. On my 2012 I am direct to the battery. I also use their bluetooth controller which shuts down when it...

Anyone tried "Speed Bleeders" brake bleeders?

The one-way valve that Ranger Rick mentions in his post is available from Motion Pro www.motionpro.com. By using this you can eliminate the need to put speed bleeders on all three calipers. I think it is only about 12-13 dollars.

You are welcome, enjoy your Spyder.

The compressor on 2012 RT doesn't run - any fuse? Where?

Since you are asking, I'll assume you didn't get an owner's manual when you bought you Spyder used. Yes, there is a fuse. The fuse box is in the frunk on the right side behind the liner. I can't tell you the number, my manual is in my Spyder, and it's not handy right now. BTW, go to the BRP...

What actually needs replacing when changing the rear tire?

At almost 80,000 miles I will be placing my 4th rear tire on my Spyder. All those parts are factory original to my Spyder and continue to work well and do their jobs. When I pull the rear tire this time I will have those pieces on hand, just in case.

What did you do to your Spyder today?

Got her all cleaned and shined up for the big parade on Wed. My wife was named Grand Marshal so the Spyder will be her ride. July 24th is the day Utah celebrates the coming of the Mormon pioneers to the Salt Lake valley in 1847

What's in your saddle bags and frunk?

It's always a work in progress. I go thru my stuff periodically to add new things and take out things I no longer think I'll use. I don't carry rain gear from the middle of June thru July, no rain in Utah. August starts the monsoon season, so rain gear goes back in. Cooler and MotoJug on rides...

Bright Headlights Daytime Yes or No

Read this poll/thread back in the day and as a result began running high during the day. No one flashed me so I asume they are ok with it when coming towards me. I did notice that even on the Spyder there seemed to be an increased awareness of my presence. Cars at intersections hesitated or...

What should I look for in a mesh jacket? Any Pros & Cons?

When doing your price checking be sure to check with BajaRon. He doesn't say much about it but he carries a full line of moto clothes at great discounts. I don't remember what lines he carries. Also motorcycledave.com has all that stuff as well so call him also. I know we don't have ads here...
