• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

A Arm Bushings - can I do it? Any video of it being done??

IIRC 2012 was the last year for the zerks. My 2012 has them. I replaced the factory ones with 90* zerks from NAPA. They are a metric size but I don't remember what. In the old sticky post on " do's and don'ts for new Spyder riders" there is post on doing this for easier access.

    HD Trike Lawsuit

And you are right of course. My only point was that both situations can be remedied with a change in tires.

So, how fast can a spyder go and safely make a sharp right turn at an intersection?

I think it is still there. In your owner's manual there is a section on how to ride your Spyder. Peter is right, the Spyder is unlike anything else you have ridden, especially 2 wheeled. Take that section and set up a course in a large vacant parking lot as they suggest and do a few of the...

M2 shocks closing doors in 2 weeks! Announced 1st week of Sept '24.

He does say he uses standard seals and o rings so you can at least get those replaced if and when that time comes. What a shame that health is forcing what appears to be a middle aged man to quit the business he is good at and loves at too young an age.

    HD Trike Lawsuit

As I read the description of both crashes it seems as if the traction control/ABS system malfunctioned causing one wheel to brake and swerve the trike to the one side. This is not a function of one wheel forward trikes, and our Spyders or your family car will do the same thing under the same...

Is it possible to do an Oil Change without a lift?

Something else to chew on, a copper washer is not a "crush" washer. You can tighten that drain plug until you strip the threads, but it is not going to get any flatter than it already is. And the most expensive torque wrench you can buy is not going to crush it either. It is a plain copper flat...

998cc 2013 RT - Anyone know where to get a pump for Rear Suspension?

There is an aftermarket air pump that is cheaper and better. Do a search here for the name, type, and simple mods to make it fit. Or as Mikey suggests, change it to manual.

Where is everyone getting SE5 Oil Filter and Oil these days?

Baja Ron for filters,Walmart for Rotella T6 Jaso MA2. I think mine is 5W40 but I don't ride in the cold any more nor when it gets too hot so it works just fine. I'm tossing it every 4500 miles anyway as that's what my old SE5 recomends.

Is it possible to do an Oil Change without a lift?

You list car ramps and a car jack in your inventory of available tools, so you have all you need to get that to get your spyder up high enough to do an oil change. I have been doing it that way for 12 years and it works well. Be sure to fit the Allen wrench and the Torx wrench ALL the way into...

Opinions wanted - How I and the Dealer handled a service issue - long read warning

The dealer decided to adjust the belt. Let it go You will be happy, and he will be happy, to have served a customer who spent a lot of money in his store. You aren't hurting him financially or his feelings. You did just fine.

What power outlet & fuse do you use for heated clothing?

I think we just did a thread on this subject. Most of the manufacturers suggest going direct to the battery and that is how I am wired with an inline fuse. My controller only passes current when something is hooked to it, so no worries about leaving it on.

Tell Me Something Good About Your Spyder Ownership Experience

After an accident in 2011 I had to go from 2 wheels to 3 wheels or stop riding. I chose 3 wheels. The Spyder has taken me everywhere I wanted to go and brought me home. It is comfortable, as fast as I want to go anymore, and reliable. It looks good though different, but that's fine with me. It...

Anybody go for a Ride Today? Post about your ride (with pics?)

So, my brother called this morning and asked if I wanted to go to lunch and to Costco with him. How could I pass up a deal like that? He lives about an hour away, so I fired up the Spyder and rode over. We went to Costco and had their Hot Dog special; then visited the sample ladies; bought a few...

Cannot get the rear pulley to seat properly - any ideas?

I have removed my rear wheel a couple of times for a rear tire change and ended up taking the rubber cush drive out to take the wheel to a tire place to mount my rear tire. I never thought about getting them back the same, and they went in just fine. I did find that a liberal application of...

Amsoil 10w-40 metric oil - what do you think?

As a 998 rider, I change my oil every 4,000 miles, and I use the 5W40 Rotella. I know it breaks down around 5000 miles, but I never let it get that far. And since I am throwing it away every 4000 miles, it makes no sense to me to buy an oil that is going to last 10,000 or 15,000, or one that...

What do you think of the 'New for 2025 - Spyder Canyon'?

It is obviously no rock crawler. The 10 inches is suspension travel not ground clearance. Still 6 inches is a pretty good. My Montesa dirt bike doesn't have any more than that and it is purpose built for off road. I think this is more for what we used to call "Fire Roading" than any hard core...

Can anyone confirm the White Paint Colour & Code - 2018 F3T

According to Color Rite website the name is Pearl White, and their codes are base coat1202, top coat 7202. These are Color Rite codes. I don't know the factory codes.

How likely are Gang encounters on the road?

I've been riding since 1964 and put hundreds of thousands of miles on 2 wheels and I don't think I ever encountered any outlaw groups on the road. I have met a few at the gas pump but I am just kind and polite to them as I would be to anybody else. I don't go to bars and lead a pretty quiet...
