• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Front cargo “frunk” contact switch not working - can it be disabled with BUDS? Any ideas to fix?

Think about it; there's no need for a frunk lid open warning. You can be going at max speed the roadster will make and the lid will not move upward. If one takes off from a dead stop and doesn't notice the frunk is not latched, perhaps one should not be piloting a Spyder.

Washed 2024 RTL, engine light on, no start

Your 2024, I believe, has one of those cheapo Chinese batteries that BRP is so graciously peddling. If so, pull it out , take it to an auto parts store and have it load tested.

What iPhone phone app do you use to plan & track your trips?

My iPhone, which I dislike intensely, stays in the trunk and is paired to my Zumo 590 that has an integral phone app that I do not use when rolling even if the Secretary of Defense (the bride) calls. I preferred to tackle the BaseCamp learning curve and use it for planning all my routes.

Want help/advice on selecting engine size?

The V-twin engines are revers because they have a centrifugal clutch (SE models) and have to rev to keep the clutch fully locked up. The 1330 ACE engine has better low end torque and a hydraulic clutch that locks up as soon as the throttle is turned.

Where is the best spot for Jack placement?

I agree and use a piece of 2X4 that is long enough to lift the swing arm by pressing upward on the two "ears" that are welded on the underside of the sing arm and are drilled to hold the long bolt that anchors the lower end of the spring and shock assembly. DO NOT EVER lift the swing arm with...

5 MOTORCYCLES THAT ARE NOTORIOUSLY EXPENSIVE TO MAINTAIN

Now that's what I like to see. I'm just a kid, and as I told the doc after his prowling around inside my ticker and repairing things for the fourth time, "Thanks, doctor, I'm shooting for 95 now."

Anyone tried a Ramp for the rear wheel to make adding air easier?

I don't dispute the advantage of FOBO, just never got around to considering purchasing. If I was your size I might have considered it years ago.

Anyone tried a Ramp for the rear wheel to make adding air easier?

I’ve been checking and adding air to the rear tire for 10 years and it’s as simple as telling time. I stand on the left side of the roadster and move it forward or backward until the valve stem is between 4 and 5 o’clock. I then move to the rear of the machine and kneel on one knee facing the...

Feedback on the new Forum Format?

I have no complaints with the new format. In a previous incarnation I was a victim of too many PowerPoint presentations that were heavy on form and BS for substance. I follow SL for the substance, which about 10 years ago may have prevented me from purchasing a 2013 RT firebomb Spyder. I'll...

Guided rides, what would you pay?

I prefer not to ride in large groups and enjoy most planning my own rides/routes. Did the Three Wheeler Rally in '17 mapping all the roads myself and had a great time, saw all the sights, then some. If someone asks to accompany me, I explain what I'm doing, and if they want to accompany me fine...

Having difficulties properly Filling the gas tank!

I have suffered like most Spyder owners filling the tank because of two factors: (1) the design of the tank and the fill location (out of our control), and (2) and the velocity of the fuel as it comes out of the pump and the finite control of the pump nozzle valve (again, generally our of our...

Where to look to get more handlebar cable slack on 2020+ RT models?

Please excuse me if I'm missing something, but your descriptions in the 3rd and 4th sentences confuse me regarding which way you are looking for and at the cable looms. In the 3rd sentence you say the left side cable is nowhere to be found. Does that mean you cannot find the loom from the left...

Anyone else have website opening issues over the last couple of days?

I had a problem last evening on both desktop and phone. Desktop had error message that said it just wouldn't load w/- Microsoft suggestion to run connection test that did not correct. Safari on iPhone wouldn't load it with error message saying "too many redirects." Everything fine this morning.
