• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Is there a brake pedal lowering kit for a 2014 RSS?

If I rest my foot on the peg like I do on my motorcycle - center of the boot - the front of my foot hits the brake pedal slightly. I find I must rest the ball of my foot on the peg to keep from tripping the brake switch, then change position to brake. I don't like floorboards; not an answer for me.

PedalBox and Pedal Commander - what do they do and how do they work?

These guys understand throttle boxes: "You've been searching for an easy solution to add instant improvement to your truck's bottom end torque and/or throttle response. Stealth Modules plug inline with the truck’s Fuel Pressure Sensor and Boost Sensor (in most situations) providing the help you...

PedalBox and Pedal Commander - what do they do and how do they work?

I guess I don't know how my explaining how something works would impact someone's enjoyment. A few people have acknowledged appreciation for my posts, but if it makes you happy, I'll stop. I expected this forum would be welcome to an exchange of information. As I mentioned, I extensively...

PedalBox and Pedal Commander - what do they do and how do they work?

I think you hit the nail on the head with this post. I use the generally-accepted definition of throttle response, which is time to power. You can substitute "time to power" for "throttle response" in my posts if that helps. I was a member of the Mercedes SLK community, and Sprint Booster was...

PedalBox and Pedal Commander - what do they do and how do they work?

You didn't answer my questions. That's telling. I'm an engineer - we do like to use data and logic over feel and perception. I haven't found a box that fits the 998 Spyders; if I did I might test one to further prove my point. But I suspect many would not believe my results anyway. Maybe...

PedalBox and Pedal Commander - what do they do and how do they work?

To get full power, with or without PedalBox or Pedal Commander, you must twist 100%. Do you agree? When you twist 100%, the ECM sees the same 100% TAS, with or without a PedalBox or Pedal Commander, do you agree? With or without PedalBox or Pedal Commander, it takes the same amount of time to...

PedalBox and Pedal Commander - what do they do and how do they work?

Many modern cars have various modes that will modify the relationship between the accelerator pedal and power and/or acceleration. I read in a Mercedes technical article 20 years ago that they had a dynamic accelerator pedal response. If cruising on the highway for a time, the ECU would soften...

PedalBox and Pedal Commander - what do they do and how do they work?

Assuming both starters twist the grip 100%, the ECU sees the same TAS and responds the same. Tie.

PedalBox and Pedal Commander - what do they do and how do they work?

No, I’m not saying that at all. I said up front exactly what these devices do, which is change sensitivity: “I found that while PedalBox and Pedal Commander increase (or decrease) twist grip sensitivity, they do not increase true throttle response, although they give that impression to many.”...

PedalBox and Pedal Commander - what do they do and how do they work?

Let’s start with the basics. These devices plug in between the twist grip and the ECM. They alter the TAS. That’s all that they do, and that is all that they can do. They do not alter the ECM in any way. The ECM just sees a TAS; it doesn’t know if that signal is from the twist grip directly or...

'08 GS, Both turn signals doesn't work. Any ideas?

Looking at the wiring diagram, if I am reading it correctly, the hazard switch and turn signal switch both feed into the cluster. However, the hazard switch is fed by 12v and the turn signal switch by ground. That is, the hazard lights are activated when the cluster sees 12 on the hazard pin...

PedalBox and Pedal Commander - what do they do and how do they work?

I’ve seen a few posts mentioning PedalBox and Pedal Commander. I was curious about how these devices work and what they do, so I did some investigation and made some tests on my Ryker to find out. I found that while PedalBox and Pedal Commander increase (or decrease) twist grip sensitivity...

Zumo XT stopped working - anyone else had this problem? Will Garmin repair?

I have a Zumo 396. The rubber over the power switch wore down and eventually fell off, so the unit was no longer waterproof. I called Garmin to ask about a replacement cover. I was told that they don't sell replacement parts, but Garmin sent me a whole replacement unit no charge (they even paid...

Has anybody heard any rumors on the 2025 Spyder Models? New line-up released!

I was just at a Ft Myers dealer for a tire change. It had a 2023 F3 for less than $16K (not including dealer prep, shipping, tax, and license).

Looking at buying - If you are over 80 y/o and ride a Spyder, raise your hand...

I have a 2014 RSS and it has the 998/Twin. I replaced over 20 parts rebuilding this project motorcycle and I had no trouble sourcing any of them, although some took a couple of weeks to arrive.

What do I do to read Ryker fault codes to see what's happening?

The magneto is quite robust even at low RPMs. I get 14.6V at idle with accessories on.
