• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

'23 S2S Limp Mode and More after 2 months storage - any ideas?

Both devices, and other similar ones, plug in between the twist grip and the ECM to make the twist grip more (or less) sensitive. Differences in the boxes have to do with features, such as Bluetooth connectivity and the amount and type of adjustability. I doubt that you would find any functional...

'23 S2S Limp Mode and More after 2 months storage - any ideas?

Named for Edwin Hall, the person who discovered the Hall effect. Simply put, a magnetic field has an effect on current and voltage in a conductor. In the twist grip, when you twist it moves a magnet and the Hall sensor detects the position of the magnet. The Hall sensor produces a voltage...

'23 S2S Limp Mode and More after 2 months storage - any ideas?

A problem with the pedal boxes is that they can be a single point of failure. The Spyder has two hall sensors in the twist grip, each with its own independent power and ground supply. An open or short in any one wire will still allow the other sensor to be functional. You get a fault and limp...

Curious if others have had battery issues with newer OEM Batteries?

Yuasa batteries are made in the US. "Yuasa Battery, Inc. has been manufacturing powersports batteries in the US since 1979. We are the leading manufacturer and distributor of batteries for motorcycles, ATVs (all-terrain vehicles), UTV’s (side-by-side), snowmobiles, personal watercraft, and...

Bummed out waiting for a part

This is my 2014 RSS project, before and after. It ran and drove, but as you can see the whole front end was missing. I purchased and installed more than 20 parts, some used, some new, to make it whole. A few of the new parts took two weeks to arrive, but I was able to source everything. It's...

2014 Spyder RT fuel gauge has failed for THIRD time in 29k miles!

My 2014 RSS manual shows that the sending unit is not grounded. There are two signal wires that run straight to the cluster. I believe the cluster is grounded through the wiring harness at #4 in the drawing. PDF shop manuals are relatively inexpensive. I wouldn't work on a Spyder without one...

What is the "WOW test" for the Cluster?

From a service manual. If you don't have a service manual, PDF versions are inexpensive.

Is there a brake pedal lowering kit for a 2014 RSS?

Not finding anything, I had a pedal modified at a local machine shop. What I was after was a stance similar to what I have on my Honda Super Cub 125 and every previous motorcycle I have owned. If I rest the center of my foot on the peg, my boot doesn't touch the brake pedal. I can simply rotate...

Potential Ryker Buyer - concerned about the Understeer? Any ideas?

All Rykers, pegs or not, have a reed switch under the seat. One of the pegs has a magnet to activate it when the peg is down.

2011 Rear Wheel Static Balance - do it with hub & sprocket fitted, or without?

No way they would do all that disassembly/reassembly for $35.

2011 Rear Wheel Static Balance - do it with hub & sprocket fitted, or without?

They use an adapter on their balance machine. They don't allow customers in the service area so I did not get a look at it. The dealer is a large one in Fort Myers, with many Spyders and Rykers (and Slingshots) on their showroom floor for me to ogle while I wait. I have found their technicians...

Recall - 2017-2019 RT and F3 Engine Output Shaft Can Break!

I had a '90 Chrysler LeBaron convertible. The transmission failed after a few months. I stopped by the dealer to check on progress. The technicians had already quit for the day, but the service writer took me back to the shop to have a look. My car was up on a lift, and there were transmission...

2011 Rear Wheel Static Balance - do it with hub & sprocket fitted, or without?

I checked with several local (car) tire shops, and all said that they could not balance the rear wheel. I had removed the "add-on" bits, thinking that would be necessary. When I took the wheel to the closest Can Am dealer 2 hours away, they said they could not balance it with the "bits"...

2011 Rear Wheel Static Balance - do it with hub & sprocket fitted, or without?

The front discs are not attached to the wheels on my 2014 RSS. The Can-Am shop balanced the wheels only. Am I missing something?
