• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

2013 Spyder RT Limited SM5 reverse works but won't back up a hill due to limiter

The 2013 RT was somewhat of a White Elephant. It was supposed to get the 1330 motor. But at the last minute, BRP decided to slap the 998 V-Twin in that bike which had been completly redesigned to accept the 1330. Bozo's with earlier models like my 2008 GS made videos of themselves doing 35 mph...

Rear tire options - any suggestions?

The OEM Kenda is low profile and wide. But with weak sidewalls, it still tends to roll under. Add to this the weak tread belts allowing centrifugal force to bulge it in the middle, and you not only have a much smaller contact patch at speed, but a rounded tire center that increases the tendency...

Anyone purchased an OBD Tool for a 2023 RT?

I would be very surprised if any other system will work with the Can-Am. BRP is extremely efficient at keeping everything they do proprietary. But if you discover otherwise, we'd certainly like to hear about it.

    Is this a rebranded Haijiu? (F3-S 2026)

Having a good, well maintained battery in your Spyder will take care of about 90% of the common issues we have with them.

Rear tire options - any suggestions?

If your only consideration is the 225/50R15, then your options are extremely limited. Though I personally think the Kenda Kanine is a reasonable option unless longeviety is at the top of your list. If you expand your size requirements a bit, the number of possibilities grow.

Anyone else had an Oil Leakage Issue like this?

Hopefully the leak is gone and all of this becomes a moot point. The quandary is the disparity of locations. One last wrench to throw at this gear box. Pressure building in the crankcase could create multiple oil leaks. A very unlikely possibility. But if we are looking at all scenerios, this...

2009 GS Fuel Gauge not working, sender wiper not contacting - any replacements, substitutes, or other solutions?

Could be corrosion on the wiper or windings. Have you attempted to clean them? Using ethanol fuel and letting the bike sit can create this issue.

2018 RT sporadic upshift issue - any suggestions?

I apologize for not mentioning this possibility in my original reply. Though we have found a good number of Spyders with cluster issues. The battery is almost always the 1st place to look for any electrical problems on the Spyder.

Anyone else had an Oil Leakage Issue like this?

Medicated... Or Regular? ;) If you are sure it's coming from high (Center), front of the engine, then I agree with Snowbelt. Sounds like valve cover gasket. Have you expressed your findings to the service manager? This is not rocket science. I'm surprised they are looking at the starter under...

    Happy Birthday

I'm Old, but I'm not Senile (yet)! It's the 15th... Who knows! I may not make it that far! That sounds Fantastic! It might kill me, but at least I'd die happy!

    Is this a rebranded Haijiu? (F3-S 2026)

300 CCA isn't going to be a long term solution for a Spyder. Someone is cutting corners here. And can you even trust a Chinese battery to live up to its specs? Your Spyder doesn't care what the label states.

Anyone else had an Oil Leakage Issue like this?

The dealer should have cleaned the area really well. Another reason I'd recommend checking the work right away. If they didn't clean the area, then they are guessing as to exactly where the leak is coming from. If you ride very long before checking, and the area is dirty, you won't know if it...

Anyone else had an Oil Leakage Issue like this?

Hopefully, they get it this time. This time, run around the block and check it yourself before you get too far down the road. I always recommend customers check work done (if possible) as soon as possible. That goes for our shop too. The sooner a problem is caught, the better. If nothing else...

Trailering the Spyder - could use some tips on fastening it down?

I'm not sure how important this is with modern vehicles. The theory being that when you strap the vehicle down, it can put tension on the transmission, and this can vary as the suspension works during transit. I leave my manuals in gear and pull the clutch in after everything is secured to...

Trailering the Spyder - could use some tips on fastening it down?

Tow Rings are very nice. Keeps all the hard parts away from paint/chrome, etc. Easy to install, easy to hook and unhook, and very reliable.

Battery Query - Does the Can-Bus system cause a battery drain?

I've gotten more than 5 years out of them. But it depends a lot on the way they are used and the environment they live in.

Is this High milage? What should I expect?

Take care of it and it will run like new at 100k. Mostly regular maintenance items. Nothing surprising. Tires, brakes, brake fluid, fuel filter, air filter, spark plugs, (possible injector clean), coolant. Keep the radiators cleaned out.

2018 RT sporadic upshift issue - any suggestions?

The handlebar cluster is many times the culprit. There really isn't any cure (that I know of) for that other than replacement. It can also be faulty shift servos, though this is much less likely.

Severe Front end wobble while braking at slow speed - anyone else? Any thoughts?

Generally true. But steering can be a 'Threshold' system. Works fine up until it gets just past the point where, under certain stress, it starts to give issues. Or, a single pothole, etc, can create an instant problem. Tires/Wheels Tire cord separation. Probably not because it should give you...
