• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Question for all, and BRP - why is there not a dip stick mark for the correct oil level in a cold Spyder engine?

Simple, they don't do it because it would not work. And you don't have to run down the road just to check your oil level. The Spyder utilizes a Dry Sump oil system. Very little oil is kept in the oil pan. This allows engineers to lower the engine by several inches, which is a very good thing...

Is the Alternator shaft squeal just a nuisance, or is it damaging anything?

It's just that an Amsoil solution would be the quickest, easiest, and cheapest option. It has worked (as far as I know) for almost everyone who has tried it. Still, I agree that a hardware fix would be excellent. But it sounds like BRP may be nearing the end of their rope in that direction. An...

Is there any way to remove the Ryker's power limiter?

I have to agree with everyone. I have not ridden a 600, but my 900 has plenty of power to spank any large truck on the road. I suppose my real question is why someone will post and then not come back for the results.

Must the spring be compressed to allow Adjusting the Shocks?

Yes, this can work. I guess having a shop gives us options that are not necessarily the easiest way to go.

Must the spring be compressed to allow Adjusting the Shocks?

The locking rings come from the factory so tightly bound that we have to remove the shock and usually do some damage to the tabs to get them broken loose. They are ridiculously tight. I have no idea why they do this other than maybe they don't want customers adjusting them at all. Like that...

Is there any way to remove the Ryker's power limiter?

Potato, Patato. I had to chuckle at this one. Of course, you are technically correct. My comment was meant to describe the functional outcome. These units lie to the ECM. The ECM accepts the lie and 'Alters' the signal that controls the motor that actuates the butterflies, and the signal that...

Is there any way to remove the Ryker's power limiter?

I'd say that what you are looking for is a Pedal Box or Power Commander. The computer controls everything on the Ryker. You can get rid of that, but then it isn't going to do anything at all. These devices alter the computer and you can adjust power output to your liking.

    'The Lamonster Chronicles'

#22 - The Longest Ride (Part 3c) Once in the bathroom, we were both relieved to see that no harm had been done. To be sure, those tiny little spyders were a startling annoyance. The sheer numbers were impressive. But once removed, the drama was over, with no lasting effects. We discussed...

3 wheeler crash on the Dragon - was it a Spyder?

And though I hate to admit it... That probably includes myself!

3 wheeler crash on the Dragon - was it a Spyder?

I have found that people tend to be a more accurate judge of other's skill level than they are of their own.

I need to find an alternative to the dealership for routine maintenance

I'd say it depends on what was entailed in fixing the reverse problem.

    'The Lamonster Chronicles'

#21 - The Longest Ride (Part 3b) (Sorry about that… I started typing above and had to go suddenly. Here is the rest of Part 3) It was a still, quiet, hot & muggy west Tennessee summer evening. Lamont was sitting bolt upright on the park bench just flailing himself all over (mostly his head and...

Spyder vs Gold Wing Reverse Trike - anyone have experience?

You're exactly right! It's the entire package together that makes up the experience, which you don't really know all the details about. until you're in pretty deep. Dealer quality has a lot to do with it. I agree with the 'Put up with' factor you mention. I don't think there is a machine made...

    'The Lamonster Chronicles'

#20 - The Longest Ride (Part 3a) I raised up on my bike which was pointed towards the park bench about 10 yards away. All the commotion was coming from Lamont!!! And it was getting worse! (To Be Continued…)

    'The Lamonster Chronicles'

#19 - The Longest Ride (Part 2) It was hot! I don’t remember how hot, just that it was hotter than the previous day’s ride and that was hot as well. We hit I-40 and headed out. Probably one of the longest stretches of straight, boring roadway in the country. Somewhat different from the previous...

Spyder vs Gold Wing Reverse Trike - anyone have experience?

Frankly, I don't think so. They were going to be quite expensive and the demand for them just wasn't there. I think Honda would have lost money on them and they saw the handwriting on the wall. The Honda reverse trike conversions have some great and obvious advantages. But it's still a...

Is the Alternator shaft squeal just a nuisance, or is it damaging anything?

I can assure you that yours is not the only update 'Fail'. I am hoping for the best, but I have to say I am skeptical that a shaft replacement will improve things. I am happy that BRP is going the distance with assistance in the matter. And with the rest of our Spyderlovers community, appreciate...

There really are no alternatives to the Can Am reverse trikes

This may be Google's AI speculation, but I still don't see it. Getting burned on a conventional trike design has no correlation to the Spyder's reverse trike format. If there is a clause in some kind of agreement, surely it would not include any and all 3 wheel configurations. But even if it...

Anyone going back and forth from their Spyder to a motorcycle?

One reason I put a hand brake on my Spyder, so I didn't lose the hand brake reflex when riding 2 wheels. Comes in very handy on the Spyder.
